  1. Darlene Rodriguez on WNBC sits on the left, and Chuck and Sue sat in a similar formation for almost 30 years. Ernie Anastos has also sat on the right at almost every anchor job outside of WABC. It's also the standard on the network morning shows.
  2. All I could see in my mind was this when I first saw her...

  4. Oh, and Ginger will be back this Friday.
  5. Nope. It's Linda doing news during WCL and Alan on the webcast. I'm guessing they had Terrell ready in case Alan didn't return in time. Ryan doesn't count, as the talker is effectively seperate from the news division.
  6. He uses that humor on Twitter, too. He doesn't post often, but he's still a good follow if you're into that. By the way, there 4 male anchors on the air today. Hosea anchored with Tanja this morning, Terrell helmed WCL and the daytime 4pm promo (maybe even the noon webcast), while Alan (back in time from the Catholic conference in NOLA) and Ron handled their normal duties. First time they've had this many guys in one day since Joel retired 9 years ago.
  7. He's been doing it for several weeks, if not a few months.
  8. Kimmel begins the tease with an unenthusiastic "Thanks", and says who's on the show. Ron tosses to Jimmy with an overenthusiastic, often high pitched, almost smart-ass "THANKS!". It doesn't sound funny, but when you notice it every night, it's funny.
  9. 'World News' is always customized, and Kimmel never is.
  10. My guess is that WABC would be their first choice from which to pull weather talent, but the flagship has, ironically, the smallest on-air team among ABC's top four stations. Philly has any one of six mets to poach, and they have the shortest (and cheapest) trip to get to ABC headquarters.
  11. He was in for Hosea a few times since sweeps.
  12. Humor me for a moment... Good Morning America may have had a rotating cast in the last 6 months, but they've stayed on top of said changes on their Facebook page, always with well-done, attractive cast photos... And this is the current cover photo... Looks pretty good, right? So, why is it that America's #1 morning show is using THIS abomination on the network's marketing site? This "photo" was cobbled together when Josh and Sam were on the show, with additions made as necessary... I mean, really. Ginger's face is flipped, for goodness sake! It looks like crap, and that's just my two cents on this pointless issue. As you were...
  13. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
  14. This would not be bad news AT ALL. I like Scott, but John and Tamsen have a anchoring relationship going back several years, not some required "instant chemistry" created by plopping Scott into the anchor chair and hoping for the best. However, that's not to say that the current pair AS A PAIR is an issue, but John does have the serious chops to literally anchor a broadcast if Tamsen isn't equipped for any given occasion.
  15. "Cable new experience is preferred" scares me more than anything else.
  16. Then you've never seen "Gina D".
  17. [sound of news junkies salivating.]
  18. Umm, didn't Leno announce a second season renewal a few months ago? EDIT: Stay classy, CBS. http://m.hollywoodreporter.com/entry/view/id/353274 20 bucks says the 'WGN News at 10' is in discussions for Chicago.
  19. Wait, so it's pronounced like "Ghenette"? I've been thinking it was like "Gannit" for years. :bang:
  20. Alexa Helms joins WFLD in Chicago as weekend anchor from WSVN in Miami. http://www.robertfeder.com/2014/05/28/fox-32-intern-coming-back-as-anchor/
  21. Siafa Lewis, once affiliated with WNBC or maybe SNY (not sure), has joined WMAQ in Chicago. Seeing as their sports team is crowded with part-timers, and no one seems to have a defined role, it's not quite clear where he'll fit in.
