  1. Found the weekday version... [yt]MdN5jDkH7iA[/yt]
  2. Not long after Weir, Snow, and Castro departed the show, so about 4 years...maybe a little more recent than that.
  3. I know it was used for the 8am rejoin on weekdays, too. I have that video somewhere, but this was the first one I could find.
  4. I've scoured the interwebs for way too long trying to find a clean version of the GMA theme at the beginning of this video. I don't know why it hasn't found its way onto some the theme sites, but has anyone ever seen the theme anywhere? [yt]-aZlw1h2g24[/yt]
  5. I can live with that. They're not up against the rebroadcasts on 2 and 5, and it will be a better lead-in to WNN...if they must hold that off til 2am.
  6. I'll just leave this here... http://abcnews.go.com/Test/video/apple-tv-abc-news-app-preview-check-abc-24219768
  7. David Muir and 'WNT' are getting the road test tonight, as the new anchor will be reporting from Apple headquarters in California following the tech giant's major product reveals today.
  8. Same thing as Josh, talking about Ray Rice.
  9. Geez...BriWi, Josh Elliott and Bryant Gumbel were all on Today in like the first minute of the show. Add in Lauer, and it's the past, present, potential future of the show, all with a little dose of the surreal.
  10. The weekend team is OFFICIALLY complete. I'd say now that Dan isn't going anywhere.
  11. ABC 7 disabilities reporter Karen Meyer (60), who is deaf herself, is retiring from the station at the end of September after 23 years. Morning anchor Hosea Sanders will assume her reporting duties, as she will not be directly replaced. http://www.robertfeder.com/2014/09/04/karen-meyer-retiring-as-abc-7-disabilities-advocate/http://abc7chicago.com/careers/abc7-eyewitness-news-reporter-karen-meyer-to-sign-off/294437/
  12. They've played it before. It's a different cut of the 2012 theme that's been used on and off, mostly in that 2nd/3rd pre-commercial tease.
  13. I gotta say, Monday's soft launch felt like Muir filling in on Sawyer's 'World News', but tonight was different. I can't put my finger on it, but the most subtle changes, likely/probably his international report elevated the broadcast above any singular episode in the last year...at least. Finally, voices of reason that prove I'm not losing it. A thousand points to each of you for making me look good. Unfortunately, as we all know, the points don't matter.
  14. Lara, like Josh, wanted a greater role on the show, but unlike Josh, didn't ask for an 800-1000% pay increase. They had already lost Sam and Josh, so they were able to keep Lara for only a doubled salary and official fill-in role. The title is virtually irrelevant, so, say what you will, it was a good deal on the network's part.
  15. I'm not going to dismiss the notion that they tweaked the theme. I compared a recent open from WNDS with last night's WNT, and it sounds to me like they beefed it up a little. Whether it was a little bass boost or some more orchestration, it felt a little more substantial than before.
  16. Well, he has those talking points down, I'll give him that.
  17. Fun Fact: On 'Kelly & Michael' this morning, David admitted that he and Diane had been tossing around the idea of returning to 'World News Tonight' for a few years, and this transition seemed like the best opportunity. The reason? "Everybody still calls it that."
  18. It would vary. If he's in the middle of a war zone, or up to his armpits in a flood, then he's not going to do the whole show. If he's in DC, or onsite after doing a big interview, then yeah, he'd likely read all the headlines himself. It's a case-by-case decision.
  19. Yes, but it wasn't just a title, she was 99% equal with Charlie and Diane. You have to remember, this was back when Today started adding to their team, and The Early Show was working a four anchor panel.
  20. Yeah, if he went remote, they'd likely just bring in one of the other network anchors outside of George, Robin, and DEFINITELY NOT Diane to read a few headlines.
  21. Robin still did the news. She just did it from the main desk.
  22. Short open tonight, dammit.
  23. Remember, Sawyer used the Gibson set with modifications until August of 2010. I do think a new desk might come at some point.
  24. Same with AT&T. I just caught that this afternoon.
  25. That's more like what I meant, haha. I try to keep is short on my phone.
