I truly don't know how PYCCO (The Coast) survived that long. It was a package behind the 8-ball when WDEF picked it up in 1995!

When I did New World at 20 a bit back, they *were* at one hour a day. They made a major news expansion with the Fox switch — they immediately changed the 10pm to 9pm, they had a newscast at 5 and then the morning show which started at 6am. By the way, that video contains a KTHV break bump with a Gilmer package from right before the "Today's THV" rebrand (which it seems was sorely needed)...

For the second time this year, a former WFMY anchor has died. This time, it's Lee Kinard, who had joined the station in 1956. He birthed the station's Good Morning Show and later went on to anchor evening newscasts. A studio at the station is named in his honor. Kinard would have turned 87 on November 5.

The set debuted the week of April 24, 1989, and I believe the entire rest of The Vision imaging came along at the same time.

I have no idea how the 1982 CBS News ticker bed hung on so long at Nine...it was used even in 1997. Also...oh my, that's a completely different open style!

WHOA! "NewsCenter 10 at 10"? So Nightcast wasn't used immediately upon The Vision? It looks like it wasn't used until October '89... Eagerly awaiting the newscast for that! (Also this is the cut of The Vision labeled as KTSP 1990)
