  1. Some WXYZ stuff from 1979: A WFSB 11pm newscast from 1984: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=TeUqalyztUM;t=328
  2. Let's see how many other local newscasts that were blatant political cash grabs get axed, though that one's pretty blatant...
  3. WSET's "NewsCenter 13 Nightside" from November 7, 1989: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=2JLp_PVEuQo;t=818
  4. KMOV in 1995, a period not well represented. Still using the Gari Impact pack, but promoting as "Your News, News 4": WITI teases in 1996 (SIX is NEWS):
  5. Chunks of 6pm and 11pm newscasts from WFMJ on New Year's Eve 1993:
  6. Some KDNL material from 1996, including a promo that must have been used since the start of the affiliation (you will see why):
  7. The open to the early edition of WCFT's 33 Eyewitness News for January 25, 1991 — the first open from this era to show up, and in 60fps no less:
  8. I hadn't heard the long version...yeah, there's a real Conner feel to it.
  9. Jim Howl *and* Royal Norman in the same open?
  10. Well that disappeared quickly...
  11. Some more KNXV material from December 1994. Notable: a promo for World News Tonight moving to 15:
  12. This KSBW retrospective on the Loma Prieta quake includes their first moments after returning to the air (they were off for two minutes):
  13. WWBT's 12 News Today for June 6, 1995: This KIRO break set is from their UPN days (!):

    In Memoriam

For the second time this year, a former WFMY anchor has died. This time, it's Lee Kinard, who had joined the station in 1956. He birthed the station's Good Morning Show and later went on to anchor evening newscasts. A studio at the station is named in his honor. Kinard would have turned 87 on November 5.
  15. How many cities did they list in that ID!?
  16. The set debuted the week of April 24, 1989, and I believe the entire rest of The Vision imaging came along at the same time.
  17. I have no idea how the 1982 CBS News ticker bed hung on so long at Nine...it was used even in 1997. Also...oh my, that's a completely different open style!
  18. WHOA! "NewsCenter 10 at 10"? So Nightcast wasn't used immediately upon The Vision? It looks like it wasn't used until October '89... Eagerly awaiting the newscast for that! (Also this is the cut of The Vision labeled as KTSP 1990)
  19. I've moved the International YouTube Findings from the International News forum over here and renamed it the International Video Thread. Hopefully that helps keep the Classic Video Thread especially a little more focused on US/Canada content (and things with relevance to the US).
  20. Some KOVR from 1987: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=-VWugGCMpq0;t=2255 This isn't the short-lived era, unfortunately; it's the mid-80s Newsmat stuff.
  21. There is no EGAD client list unfortunately. There are also very few references to the firm in general.
  22. Wow, the 1996 open is jarring. The station had done a lot of modernizing in presentation but the news open was completely divorced from that.
  23. Yeah, I would say that's probably Vance, and if not him, maybe EGAD... It looks like they updated their L3s at some point (report #3). Looking at his site he had WHNS as a client though...
  24. A KETV bumper from 1979 using News People: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=MKrvUUAJoxU;t=63
  25. WLKY's Channel 32 News (with the Copeland/Louisville Symphony theme) from January 22, 1990:
