In what is either CBS News going rogue or trying to save face (or both?), CBS Evening News did a largely straightforward report of Pelley’s firing complete with a tribute to him

There is certainly a window for ABC to try something more serious, even if it’s just for Hulu and Disney+; on top of that it feels like we’re maybe a year or two away from Nightline being back at 11:35…the road is there if they want to take it. But I definitely think ABC would take Vega back; by all accounts her exit was fairly amicable in a “who’s gonna turn down 60 Minutes?” way

Also out are Cecilia Vega and EP Tanya Simon, among others, as Nick Bilton (a former NYT columnist with no experience in TV news) is named the new EP

This is the second Hearst station in as many months to pick up Family Feud for next season; WBAL is using it to replace Kelly as well. I wonder if this is a group-wide deal

NBCU is continuing to offer Steve and Karamo as reruns, and apparently the Maury reruns they distribute get surprisingly good numbers in a number of markets (Milwaukee being one of them). I also wonder if simulcasting blocks of stations’ diginets could be a strategy; maybe Sinclair stations could simulcast parts of Comet or ROAR’s schedules

NBCUniversal getting out of first run syndication; Access Hollywood, Steve Wilkos, Karamo and Access Live to end after this season
-
Extra renewed for season 33(!)

Another Houston TV legend is about to retire as Shern Min Chow is leaving KHOU next month

Very funny how ABC manages to do the “ain’t America great!” beat without seeming alienating like this; CBS I don’t see succeeding in the same way

CBS Media Ventures is launching a new court show starring Judge Judy’s son next fall, as well as the third syndicated run of America’s Funniest Home Videos https://deadline.com/2025/12/judge-judy-son-adam-levy-courtroom-show-1236651614/

That is a big blow for 4, for sure

Largely as a Peacock simulcast channel but still a big deal

If ABC wanted KPLR, they would have had it at this point; keeping KPLR was clearly a priority for Koplar in 1994, Tribune in 2012 and probably Nexstar now
-
Even without Nexstar and Sinclair airing it, last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live was watched by over 6 million viewers
-
Nexstar will continue to preempt Kimmel as well
-
If Disney chooses not to renew with Sinclair next year it’s over for them, right?

The View FINALLY talking about the Kimmel mess in depth on today’s show
