  1. It really does sting when the popularity msnbc gets on a weekly basis is put with the shows where bad people get incarcerated rather than the shows reporting the news about people (bad or good) getting incarcerated, if there is that. Shame. But yeah it's true that those prison shows get more ratings than the weekday shows on the network. What other reason to explain that they get marathons on major holidays? (other than the fact that almost everyone is on vacation, of course...)

Now I finally made the milestone on the dot.
  3. I read this article from the NY Daily News that MSNBC news chief Andrew Lack is contemplating a name change. http://nydn.us/1GHp8wU This is a great idea. When the change-up comes in, the name should be a major part, especially since Microsoft isn't half-owner of the network anymore and their to-be-former left-leaning image is waning hard. I suggest...shfit, like their digital online network. Because something like NBC News Network is more than a stretch for more than one obvious reason. And thinking of a name to create for this network is hard. Thoughts?
  4. I like this line-up a lot. I think Todd Quinones should be added in, either with Nicole Brewer or by himself on Weekend Mornings. I love his style while watching him and could mesh well with Nicole. Either that or take Evenings. I don't know about Diana Rocco though.
  5. Brian has returned to Philly, and he's back on at 10pm. And yep, still solo.
  6. Congratulations to her and her husband. Their family is going to be even more special.
  7. Yeah, she really did a great job. I stayed glued to her and was fascinated. And it does seem like I was surprised to see her at 10pm, but I was. I didn't really expect her to be on at this hour. Could you blame me? He really did. He really knew what he was doing, and kept us all in the know with his forecasting. He was more than impressive. And Cecily was noticeably absent? Well, I didn't watch the news that day until the Thunderstorm Warning hit, and even then I was watching 29 after 6. But still this is a shock, as she usually is at the forefront for storms, I guess. Maybe she's on vacation, maybe something else. Who knows? Also a shock of giving Adam all the screen-time and not have another meteorologist with him too. Usually at times like this, 2 meteorologists usually appear on screen. But this is a strange, yet great turnout.
  8. Looking at them now, I agree in that I like and prefer the older one too. The former had some nice edge, use of color and was a nice soft and smooth look. This is less. The boxy look is a little cheap, the one line doesn't work and the font somehow looks terrible under it. And the new time/temp bug (where everything is crammed in) looks awful. I now think in hindsight that this L3 change was a mistake.
  9. Me too. That look is gaudy as hell and rubs me the wrong way every time I look at it. The last looks that had this extension were a breath of fresh air.
  10. I like it. The boxy look was kind of an eye sore for a second (and will probably still be one for some), but I like this and will find it enjoyable. Oh they sure were. The 8am changes are pleasant for sure. This new look will be a perfect update this show needed for a while.
  11. And I really must say, I am in love with this page. All of these vids and pictures from the station are so wonderful. And in their natural form (well, remastered, but still). I love everything it does and I think I'll visit more than healthily possible.
  12. Cool. I love his demeanor and his style of forecasting. I really see him as part of the Action News family for a long while.
  13. Carson Daly subbed for Lester (i guess if they're still calling it that) this morning. While I don't think he has the credibility to front a weekday morning news program anytime soon (besides he has the entertainment stuff to do, anyway), I think he did a really good job here, as the weekend show is more looser and fun than the more serious weekday show. He really fits along with the ladies. He won't be at the top of my list of personalities to replace him (if/when NBC makes it official), but he will be on my list nonetheless.
  14. Nightline is on right now, and not the 11pm news on schedule. This is after Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Nevermind: The game is still on, and I realized that someone else is watching it on Roku in another room. I'm in a third room doing God-knows-what. Silly me. Apologies. Forget what I said.
  15. For my 2c, I think I want to see either Eva or Sharrie get the 4 and 10. I definitely see either of the ladies taken the seat, as I believe both have the talent to both hard-driven and easy-going, depending on the story calling for either. I've really enjoyed Eva as weekend morning anchor and Sharrie whenever she's a fill-in anchor, so I think either or my choices are perfect for the move-up. (If either aren't chosen, I'll understand) I agree. I feel Nydia and Alicia don't have the amount of serious to carry the 4pm and especially the 10pm. Also, I think giving Monica the 10pm is a bit much for her, unless she wants to take it. I agree and disagree. I think Brian is a great anchor, whether solo or paired.
  16. Aw, heck. Thank you.
  17. He did; I'm just pointing it out for example.
  18. It is mostly, but I would like to mention, as an exception, that WCAU's "Chief" Glenn "Hurricane" Schwartz is on at 11am and 4pm (along with 6pm, which of course is where "Chiefs" are usually seen on-air), while Sheena Parveen is on at 5 and 11pm, so it doesn't happen everywhere. (that is only one exception I can think of though.)
  19. This week's morning show ratings came in, and CTM has been growing again. How much? Enough to finally reach Today! CTM was up +29 percent in the demo and up +17 among total viewers compared to the same week last year, the only morning show to grow in these two categories, putting it in its closest competition with Today in 21 years. I'm 21 as of writing this; this is mind-boggling to me. It's still far from Today, but it's still a great thing. Here's the article from TVNewser: http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/morning-show-ratings-week-of-may-25-3/264016 I hope they reach second sometime, because they deserve it. We need an actual morning news program get the ratings it deserves. (Oh and GMA is still #1 in viewers, and got the crown back in A25-54, but that's not important.)
  20. ^ Yeah when I read the articles, I honestly thought too, that the line "her first day at June 1" meant "she'll first appear on TV (probably in-studio)" and not "she'll first work at the station and get acquainted". I guess, even if I'm excited for a new hire of a station, I should still read between the lines. I'm sorry if I caused a panic at the moment. And for initially incorrectly spelling Lauren Glassberg's name.
  21. Oh. Well, I'm going to apologize, regret what I wrote, call this all Speculatron-fodder, and hope we'll all pretend this didn't happen.
  22. I meant by if this would be her last day, she would at least let viewers (at least unaware ones) know she is leaving the noon show to move up to evenings. At least to me; no big deal. And thanks for the mention of the correct name; it really slipped off my mind when I watched and first saw her. I honestly never knew about her before. I haven't watched Eyewitness News in a while. The name is now fixed.
  23. VERY INTERESTING. If this was her last day, she would've been at the desk anchoring. But this is strange. Although, Lauren Glassberg is a really good fill-in.
  24. From this video I watched from Monica Malpass' Facebook page, Kenneth Moton is heading to DC and ABC News, where he'll become a correspondent. https://www.facebook.com/6abcMonicaMalpass/videos/10153082564478001/ Best of luck to him on this big leap and his future endeavors.
  25. I watched her final broadcast on WPHL. It was heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Gosh I'll miss her in Philly, but I'm gonna enjoy her all the same in NYC.
