  1. WELCOME BACK, WORLD NEWS TONIGHT.
  2. If I may add my two cents for this (wow, I haven't used this in a long time): I loved World News Tonight when I was a kid, especially when Peter Jennings was at the desk (and because Channel 6 was the place to be in my family from 4-8). The name was iconic and recognizable, the theme was commanding and astounding (and also iconic), and Peter's reign was astonishing, breathtaking and cool (using the network letters for the words; and yes, iconic too.) so I'm so happy the "Tonight" part of the name has returned to give the iconic name it's return. The logo looks great with it. I used to hate it because of the unrecognizable and strange thing behind the name that's used on the desk. The "Tonight" part in the name actually makes it look better. I've watched David Muir anchor before. I think he'll do very well as main anchor. and... I'm using the open as my wallpaper soon (if not now).
  3. I don't know if it has been mentioned already or not, but do you guys think new graphics will come in when David makes his debut, or will they be the same as those during the last of Diane's reign?
  4. Maybe, but I hope not; I love the show as it is. I'm one whose okay to change, but this one I might not like a lot.
  5. I watch the show a lot, and I've never seen anyone else doing "headline duties" before. Usually, it's Charlie or one of the ladies doing the "Headlines from Around the Globe" segment, if that's what you mean.
  6. Joe Cioffi is doing the weather tonight. :awesome: It's been a while since I've last seen him.
  7. Even if she meant the hats hipsters wore, it's still uncalled for. Especially the demonstration she made. While she meant one thing, a lot of others surely took it another way. Even after the Jason Biggs-Malaysia Airlines incident, this "too soon" thing still carries a toll on everyone. She should apologize on air.
  8. Dan Mannarino mentions on Twitter that's he returning to PIX and coming to the News at 10 tomorrow. https://twitter.com/DanMannarino/status/491605030529552384
  9. I do agree about the sadness, as I think Scott probably enjoyed his time as news anchor. Madness, not so much.
  10. Enjoy your 4th of July weekend, everyone.
  11. Wow. Some people are not gonna like this. I guess the speculation wheel has died down for now.
  12. Thank you, but I'm the one who needed to apologize to you, because you deserved it. My emotions sometimes get in the way of a good conversation with nice people. Thank you again. I appreciate your acceptance.
  13. Because I didn't like the way he things he said about Suki and things the PIX execs are running things. Sure, you don't like her, and you don't have to like her, and no one has to force anyone to like what they don't; it just that I really don't like it when anyone talks about her like she's revolting. Sure she's not the best journalist in the market, but how everyone treats her like she's the worst journalist in any market, or even all of TV, just angers me. And what I said was wrong. And he doesn't deserve the words I gave to him. I apologize deeply.
  14. And I applaud you for that. There is nothing everyone can agree on.
  15. Please read Dabx's comment over NY Weather and you get the clear and honest reason why Dan and Marysol at 4-6 isn't working, sadly. No one but me on the PC and a few thousand others are watching. Barely reaches the scale. Plus Suki and Kori recently rose in ratings. People were watching at that timeslot. And cbs2idiots, stay classy, you jackhole. Just like the rest of them.
  16. It's the morning news, with lifestyle segments just like every other station with one. The hosts must do things like this.
  17. Congrats to John; I'm very happy for him. I really enjoyed him during his stint on World News Now, and will love to watch him on PIX during the 5 and 10 when he rejoins the station. I have enjoyed Scott as anchor (yes) and will wish him well as just sports anchor. By the way, has this happen before? A main/sports anchor transitioning to just sports? Because I've seen the opposite happen. Oh and the station's website looks different.
  18. So...it doesn't matter if your news operation is good or bad--it matters if music is playing in and out of commercial breaks? Seems lousy to me in general.
  19. thanks for one last memory. Boy, were they so upfront about it.
  20. ^^Oh yeah. I've seen it before and I also found it pretty cool. You should see more of this dude's work. He's fantastic at this stuff.
  21. Finally someone else who feels the same way. I hate the way the L3 graphics come in and out. It takes like a second for them to come, while other stations' graphics come in 1/2 a second faster. That annoys me. Even more grating when the come in late.
  22. Oh, it is, alright. There was a moment where Scott asked producers if they have a tape of a bit on deck. They do, but that clearly indicated that this show is live.
  23. NEEDS SOME YELLOW AND SOME PEACOCKS TOO.
  24. To me, that makes no sense. They just signed off for the news and then took it to the Sports Desk. It's separate from the news. It needs it's own end and sign-off. Seems more traditional than what you did.
  25. Wow. I get used to that on GMA, but cutting a half hour of repeat programming on ABCF for that isn't going to work for me. I give it five months, if not four..
