  1. Rest In Peace, Abe Vigoda (1921-2016)
  2. Umm...is this your way of saying "I disagree, I think things should stay the same"? Because if so...why?
  3. What an absolute shock. Condolences indeed to her family and coworkers.
  4. Good for her. She was a great weekend meteorologist at WCAU, and will be missed. I'm sure this was her choice, as said above that she'll be closer to home, and I wish her the best of luck there.
  5. Impressive. It's not in-your-face or bright and colorful, and is perfectly darkened with great amounts of blues and red, with a globe image that fondly reminds me of the open from early into the Diane Saywer era of WNT. A great improvement. ABC really stepped up with their graphics in time for election season, and that is fantastic.
  6. Agreed with all of this. I usually enjoy Lara (or at least tolerate her) when she does the human interest/fluff stories, but when she fills in for Robin, I'm really turned off. She just can't do hard news (maybe it's the perception of her in general and her work). She was just really great when with Josh and Sam. Their chemistry (with and without Robin & George) was spectacular and couldn't be broken with a sledgehammer. It was one of the reasons I watched GMA during that era and was a regular fan of their after-show on Yahoo. On Amy, she's great doing whatever you give her. She already proved herself as news reader, but really shined when she also fills in for Robin (perfect chemistry with) and does just as amazing with lighter stories. I generally like Lara too, and I agree that while she's great with what she does best, Amy is great at it all and should get paired with Robin and George more than her.
  7. On the other hand, congrats to Steve on this new position. He's a great fit for NBC and will do very well. I can't wait to see report on Today and Nightly News sometime in the new year.
  8. This actually would've been a cool feature if they hadn't made the screen that big. This really isn't needed. Just a two-screen and they're all good.
  9. Watching the Boston TV Crisis Speculation thread like it's Star Wars. It's maddening!
  10. Great choices. I enjoy watching Craig anchor, and it's good to get the slot. I've never seen/heard of Kala before (understandably because she last freelanced at WABC), but she has some good credibility around here, so I'll give her a chance. Good luck to them for longevity, and good work to the execs for the new pair-up.
  11. He's a class act, a professional, a grade-A talent and one of the very best veterans in the market. Congratulations to him on the anniversary. Yet it feels like he can go more.
  12. Agreed. While they are going to one great organization, they certainly left another. Although I will miss them at WPVI, they are very talented anchors and reporters and they do deserve huge promotions within the ABC company. Good luck and congrats to Eva on her move to the Alphabet.
  13. That is a great logo. Miles better than the last. The narrow logo and bars in the background got really grating to me, so I'm glad this change happened. This font looks way better suited for the network's politics coverage than the last; but other than "it really didn't age well" and "it got more stale", I don't have a good explanation for that (maybe that's it). And the simple look and that star piece in the middle looks awesome. Great job to the graphics department.
  14. Just the fact that Kaity Tong is going back to weekdays is a joyous thing. The surprising this is she's doing a newscast at the time that last time helped brought her to a downfall. I hope this works out well this time. Also, it's great to see the great Brenda Blackmon on New York News again. But this is a surprise too. Yes, please let this happen. Although I'm cool with John anchoring three newscasts but definitely not Tamsen.
  15. Apparently, Good Day is now airing 7 days a week, starting on the 5th. I guess #Fox29Weekend (at least in name) just didn't click.
  16. Just a little reminder that the big GMA 40th Anniversary special is coming up in 25 minutes. The livestream is all around the Studios and TJ Holmes has bumped into former personalities. So cool.
  17. I was watching the livecast during WNN after 3:10, where, outside Times Square Studios, a crew member reveals that updates will be done to the ribbon marquee in front of the studios starting at the end of this year/start of next year. The Bill Murray-looking guy in the beard says that it will more curvy. I can't, for the life of me, imagine how that will look.
  18. Just the fact that Charlie was there on set again was great, but the conversation with George certainly was a big highlight to me thus far. And this livestream has a lot from me.
  19. I'm still watching the livestream and during a live behind-the-scenes walk into the set, I see they completely revamped the Social Square. It looks so completely different from the last time--and much nicer; it's warmer, more homey, much more wood-y and a lot less white and bright. Check out the YouTube stream on 24994J's last post and go back to before today's regular GMA broadcast where TJ Holmes walks into it for a BTS look and he'll peek into it. So darn nice. Great job to the designers!
  20. I gotta say, I'm really enjoying the livestream even so far as well. There are very good segments, very good happy talk by hour hosts (who give great performances), and I've never thought for once of changing the channel for something else on TV (mostly because I kept the stream on online). Seriously, thank goodness the event is also airing on the LiveWell subchannel. Plus, the aforementioned break fillers are really fun to watch. The banter between the bespectacled hosts has a nice alternative from the somberly serious coverage on WNN. It was sorely needed to keep me from getting angry at the TV. Overall, two big thumbs up. I so can't wait to watch more from the livestream later on today and during GMA tomorrow.
  21. Watching GMA's 40 for 40 event. I'm actually trying to stay awake to watch the whole thing. I'm gonna regret this...
  22. I didn't know this until now, but the Livestream is also on TV, surprisingly. I was channel-surfing until I saw it on the LiveWell .2 subchannel of WPVI in Philly. I'm not sure if it's on in other citites as well, but it's really cool for those without Internet to watch, too.
  23. Yep. It's going to be 40 hours, and will probably carry as many big news stories as it can online. Along with the usual GMA fare, and previous anchors and personalities appearing. I'm so excited.
  24. The 40 for 40 Livestream has begun.
