Does anyone know when Diane Sawyer's contract is up?
-
So Michael started today. My only thought is that Lara, as anchor, should be in his new seat location as it is more in line with Robin and George.
-
Michael starts tomorrow.
-
A. That will never work. B. That is simply embarrassing for a news organization.

1. I'm sorry we will have to agree to disagree. George is important but Diane is the face of the network and you may not remember but she payed her dues a long time ago. 2. You say, "critically she is 3rd..." Let's just clarify that is your opinion, not the way ratings have gone. And again, my stance is, if people want to watch it, why is it a problem? If people don't want to get "world news," why should they have to watch it? I agree, in terms of content, WN is Good Evening America, but that isn't a problem. The name.... I guess it's unfortunate, but why would hey spend millions to rename it? They shouldn't and won't. All I am saying is that if people want to watch it, then it isn't a problem as some here say it is.
-
I have two points to say... 1. She will leave when and only when SHE wants to leave. 2. WN has less hard news. True, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. This site is full of news buffs who want hard news. Many people however don't want hard news as much. Ratings say it all, people like the "new" WN. Sorry if many of YOU don't like it but many others do. There are other options for you to choose.

I think ideally, ABC would like Muir to take over but they would probably loose George so George will he the spot. But this thread isn't for WN but for GMA. I have no problem with Lara anchoring because when she needs to be, she can be serious but she can also be cheerful. I expect Reali to replace Lara. I actually like this move a lot and if it happens, Reali will be a great addition.

It posted double. Ignore this post.
-
This also helps give GMA leverage during George's contract talks.
-
The only thing that I disagree is your comment on Robin. Robin makes GMA. Robin could anchor solo and the show would be #1... She is the heart of the show.
-
Could this be to allow a male pop news anchor? What this does mean is if George leaves for WN, it will be Robin and Lara.

Alex was nice but she wasn't my favorite. I have not watched Jill at CBS 2 yet but I'm sure she is good. CBS 2 News This Morning is always trying to be different (cooking, standing more, different segments, etc...) they need to have a normal newscast. That would help their morning ratings. Minus John (in my opinion), they have a good morning team. They have the ability to do well. Can they beat the powerhouse morning team at channel 7, no, probably not, but they can improve with the right moves.
-
Based on Twitter, Alex will not be returning as traffic reporter but In another capacity at CBS 2.
-
That's what all the reports are saying. He would work the 7am hour and not all 5 days.
-
I'm sure they will use the men more now that the program only has 1 man.
-
The same can be said for the Today Show though. I'd even say Today is even more fluff than GMA.
-
Live (in the East) would be moved to 10am, not sure what would happen in the other time zones. Maybe align those time zones to the East schedule? One thing for sure, Live must air in the Mornings, it won't work otherwise.

If two feeds is the basis of success for a show, I guess The Chew isn't successful. Luckily, it's not... look at the ratings. And I'm sorry you think, "Either The Chew needs to provide two feeds, not be day and date, cancelled and replaced with something scripted, or the time returned to affiliates" because none of that needs to happen. The Chew is doing fine as is and it's going to continue to work the way it is.
-
I agree The View is loosing its' touch but the ratings aren't. As much as people like to hate her, Elizabeth made the program interesting with her personality and when she disagreed, it made the show more interesting. ABC needs to go back to a 5 person panel and they need to choose 2 very good people. That said, the ratings at The View are doing well has always and the show isn't going anywhere. The Chew is doing VERY, well and is going up every time the ratings are out. The Chew is going nowhere. Frankly, everything on ABC Daytime is doing well enough that none of the shows will be canceled. ABC will take an hour from local stations before they cancel any of the 3 shows. My guess is a memo will go to the local stations to not extend syndicated shows for the 9am hour after a certain season and they will start a 3rd hour of GMA following that season.

GMA looking at adding 3rd hour. http://www.tvnewsinsider.com/22565

Today, Linda celebrates 30 years at ABC 7. Congratulations Linda!

It's being discussed at the link below and is legit. http://forums.tvnewstalk.net/index.php?/topic/13674-josh-elliott-to-depart-abc-news-for-nbc-sports-amy-robach-promoted-to-gmas-news-anchor/page-5&do=findComment&comment=107254

I completely agree that the few times I watch EWN Morning's, it's very dull. They seem too tired, you are supposed to wake up to them? I know the 7 in the Morning promo was odd but that kind of fun is supposed to wake you up in the morning. The current newscast is the polar opposite, they should be in the middle of present and the 7 in the Morning promo.

Does someone need to ask if an anchor is ok, every time they are off for over a week!?!? I'm sure she is fine.
-
The set definitely needs updating!
