In much happier but relevant news, WTNH has hired Dennis House as their chief political anchor and as a fill-in anchor as of January 11th. WTNH also will be launching a second Sunday morning political show hosted by House to go along with their longtime Capitol Report.

This is a good move for both sides and only helps WTNH in the northern half of Connecticut where the battle for second place is a three station race. The transplanted CT folk getting paywalled out of WTNH's stream is going to be egg on their face though.

Do you think it just a matter of time before he anchoring the 6 &11pm news?  It would behoove WTNH to get him in that role by May Sweeps. Hasn't NBC 30 moved to #2 and WTNH moved to third in recent years?

  2. How many stints has WBBM/CBS2 had a 4pm news? It seems every decade there a 4pm news and then goes away. Does anybody have the times as well WMAQ &

[WLS which 4pm news seems consistent in the last 30 yrs plus]

I'm happy for Karyn she's been in Atlanta for quite some time. She knows the landscape of that market.

2 other tid bits about WGCL

    1. They'll be revealing their new, redesigned news set next week

    2. I heard that Fred Campagna might be getting moved to the weekend meteorologist anchor spot.

She did a facebook video about it and Karyn in her later 50s and I'm glad she gets to keep anchoring noon news & and doing other things. She started at 46 when it was WGNX as Indy/CBS for 10 years. Jump over to WXIA/11 for another 16 yrs and back at 46.

WGCL/CBS46 has either tied with 11ALIVE or beating them. There alot of things 46 can do to overtake 11 in other time slots. Karyn been in the market since 1988 for over 30 years,

The New York Times had an article about Zucker's fallout with Trump. AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson decided to keep him in 2018. People in the business gave two theories on why the network's so obsessed with Trump. One theory is that Zucker just wants anything outrageous for ratings. The 2nd theory is that he's just wanting to take him down.  It does mention that Zucker's never been a hard news person, and only cares about ratings, corporate success and trying to win. A former NBC exec said that Zucker's quench for ratings blinded him to the point of nonstop coverage. He said it's one thing if you have a thirst for ratings but it's entirely different for news. ABC exec Ben Sherwood on the other hand basically defended him talks about how he's a great man. I prefer the former's statement over the latter.

Ben Sherwood & Zucker cut from the same cloth. So I'm not surprise.

I thought WBNS would go after Mark Taylor after he left WCMH to replace Revish.  Wouldn't a more familiar face be a better option to join the evening desk as opposed to someone from another market?

WBNS should be groveling to get Jeff Hogan back which I'm sure he sitting on top of the world at WRAL.  Jeff and Yolanda would of been great together. Marky -Mark ok but nothing to write home about.  For TEGNA it another cheap hire.

If the FTV Live post about WFSB and Dennis House parting ways is any indication, confirmation that WFSB shot themselves in the knee.

He'd be a good get for WTNH on paper, but I'd put money on him going to WVIT. They have a habit of getting people that WFSB has cast aside and they're based in West Hartford, a town Dennis has championed and calls his home. That is if he doesn't dabble into politics now that he's lost his home of vetting candidates. Or writes the book that he's teased about writing (he'd join Kara on the bookshelf).

What about FOX61? Could that even be an idea?

Scott Light just left. Was it his decision? Sounds like he wasn't chosen to be Jerry's permanent replacement.

Ever since TEGNA moved in on Twin Rivers Dr it been a mad rush of people to leave the former Wolfe facilities.  I heard the GM is a piece of work!
