As someone that thoroughly enjoyed The Chew, the last months after Mario Batali's firing were rough. The show would've needed a little retooling and additional co-hosts.

Hmm. I don't think that was the case. Ben Sherwood was eager to be like NBC to get some XTRA money.  The Chew's ratings were better than Sara & Strahan.

If I recall correctly, BNS was trying to get Yolanda as early as 2012, to replace Andrea Cambern.  Perhaps if she would’ve joined them then, the energy could’ve remained. (Kristyn Hartman simply wasn’t a Cambern clone, and it didn’t work out - but I do feel badly for how she left...given the 10 still dominated with her at the helm.)

BNS is a tough station to watch...because truth be told, any energy and personality that station had left with Andrea Cambern.

(But I digress...Mitch Jacob will have his work cut out fo him at WSMV.  I remember his work at WTOL after his stint in Phoenix.)

Yes, there was an article in some publication where BNS management wanted Yolanda, but she was under contract with WSYX at the time.   Kristyn was a horrible choice as Andrea's replacement. In some cases it always hard to find the right candidate when replacing someone who been there a long time.  BNS whole contemporary branding/image is not them.  It's the station with the old guard, but what they're not good at is the young demo where WSYX does well in.  I read Mitch wasn't well liked in Phoenix, but did a good job at WTOL, but I guess that because of WTOL's #1 status during his time there.

Some of the momentum for WSYX was also lost once WBNS poached their talent (Yolanda Harris and Pete Scalia) and sterilized them.  (You won't see this kind of "personality" when Yolanda is paired with Jerry Revish.)

Hmm. Yolanda Harris, I would say, but Pete I can't co-sign, However,  Yolanda plays second fiddle at BNS where she was the mainstay at WSYX.  I was told many told her (Yolanda) not to go over to BNS. It might be #1

but inside it, a mess and many are still wondering how long the Wolfe family going to keep the station in their hands.  Yolanda was a band-aid to keep the machine pumping, but nothing last forever.  Remember SYX was fighting with

    CMH for #2.

WSMV has a new news director...Mitch Jacob, who worked at WJLA and WSYX.

    https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2019/2/26/news-director-change-in-nashville

While his time in DC has been debateable (overshadowed by the fact of WJLA being taken over by Sinclair), WSYX was a solid #2 under his watch and has always been one of the most successful and profitable Sinclair stations.

This and the new GM hopefully can move WSMV forward from the bad press it has garnered over the past year or so due to....well...we all know...cough cough....dk....cough cough....among other changes, layoffs and lawsuits...

And could they bury the hatchet and decide to bring her back perhaps?

He made WSYX more aggressive in their news coverage, there were some spikes in #2 at WSYX but it wasn't across the board in all newscast.  Jamie Justice the current ND she couldn't keep the momentum going... I think he couldn't do what he did at WSYX for WJLA.  A different market and Sinclair was ready to cut that budget at WJLA and he resigned during Sweeps.  So he has his work cut out at WSMV.

Marion would likely succeed Allison if she were to retire. Allison and Marion are close in age (Rosati is like 3 months older) and neither seem ready to pull a Kathy Brock and retire any time soon. That said, there isn't room at WMAQ, WLS and WGN, so WFLD is the logical choice given they have an opening and could use a vet like Roseanne.

Which capacity could you see her in at FOX?  Could you see her on Good Day Chicago?  Now here my wishful hope.  When Nexstar gets it hooks into WGN.  That many from WGN will flock over to FOX32 to give them the

much-needed jolt.   Another question is why is CBS 2 (it seems just speculation) that CBS runs WBBM on a shoestring budget?  They don't have the cache of talent that pops out.

  6. Robert Feder said Insiders are saying she'll go to FOX32 and FTVLIVE.com just repeating what Robert said.  Why not NBC5? No shade to

Allison Rosati, but um...Who going to be next after her?  I don't want to be that person...., but is she really a big deal in Chicago?  We hear all about the

ABC7 folks and here & there are CBS2 people. Of course, you have WGN and then FOX32 they do try.  It just seems NBC5 people don't get the cache like ABC7.

#MeanwhileInTampaBay, after close to 25 years of working for WTSP, Mr Reginald Roundtree just got... let’s say, cut down

WTVT is up next to get him! But we'll see...

Do we really think FOX13 going to pick up a 60 something-year-old? Plus their anchor bench is tight.

WVUE's noon anchor/reporter Liz Reyes will now co-anchor the New Orleans Fox affiliate's 6-9 am weekday show with morning anchor Rob Masson in addition to doing the noon show. Reyes replaces Jennifer Hale, who is now doing sports for the station.

Didn't they move John Snell & Nancy Parker to the morning news? Are they being ditched since the sale to Gray?

Not sure if that’s a compliment for MSNBC - we are talking about a person who has a gold toilet and his primary residence is golden and marble. Hardly the type for style advice.

I heard that on Morning Joe this morning that he loves MSNBC graphics vs. FOX... I had to LMAO :classic_biggrin: He in love with the Chryon.

Mark Nolan just tweeted that tonight's 6pm newscast will be his last on WOIO.  I believe his co-anchor Romona Robinson has already left the station.

Carl Monday has also posted a farewell video on social media as well.  He was at Cleveland 19 since 2007.

From her twitter page, it looks like somewhere in the middle of December must of been her last time at 19.  On WKYC youtube page in November of 2018  her and Tim White did a throwback.

  11. Revish has a few years left in him.

Not to sound like an ageist, he's 69 almost 70. I'm thinking he will be there (2) more years. Which will give him 40 yrs at BNS.

However, despite the station being dominate it newscast is stale it not hip or nor it demos go to a younger demo. I think being with

CBS also hurts them. SYX definitely does well in younger demos.

  12. Jessica Kartalija is moving to KYW 3 from WJZ to become the evening anchor in Philly.

    https://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2018/10/22/this-is-not-goodbye-jessica-kartalija-headed-to-philadelphias-kyw/

Dave Chudowsky is now morning anchor at WKYC he comes from sports department.

In Las Vegas Bryan Scofield is gone from the station. Scripps making cuts apparently.

  13. So in other words we have seen reporters losing their jobs over posts made on Social Media yet this Mark Mathis guy only gets a "slap on the wrist" and is STILL employed at KUSI? I see a double standard to this issue here

I think management at any station see the entertainment value he brings to the table. He's like the current President. He's a train wreck to watch, but the ratings are solid. That my take.
