  1. Why do we need TWO weather anchors on the same show?

Sister stations WCAU & WRC also follows this same practice.

WSB in Atlanta has Glenn Burns on at 4,6,11PM and Brad Nitz at 5pm before it was David Chandley before going over to WAGA to be the main weatherman.

  2. I think WPEC is West Palm Beach has one.

They do and it only 30 minutes at 3pm and an hour at 9am too.

KOMO 4 in Seattle has a 3:30pm News

KSNV 3 in Vegas has an hour long 3pm

  3. Adding to Columbus, Tylar Bacome has returned to WCMH after a 12 year hiatus. He anchored the 6pm with Colleen Marshall tonight.

He was cut as part of NBC’s 2006-07 cutbacks and last anchored NewsChannel 4 Today with Anietra Hamper. He was cut along with John Ivanic, Elizabeth Scarborough (yes, Chuck’s daughter), Holly Hollingsworth, Monique Ming-Laven, and Nancy Burton.

Last few years he was over at BNS as a reporter. Kelly Frank and him worked at GCL in Atlanta . Both returned to Cols, and were working at 10TV. Kelly now at WTSP in St.Pete.

  4. If anyone’s not been posting about it here, Kathy Brock is now our next victim to retirement at WLS. She’s been at the station for 28 years, and will be missed.

It in the Chicago forum and they have videos, but she still has some few good years left in her.

  5. Ellie Merritt was hired over from channel 10... she was one of Media General’s first hires after they bought the station from NBC and the subsequent 2007 cuts. She replaced Holly Hollingsworth who was there from ‘97-‘07. Is Holly still in the industry?

Holly does PR for AT&T. Remember when Ellie filled in for Yolanda during two-months when she was on medical leave at WSYX.

  6. Yes, it was 1985 when KMGH debuted Newsmat, I believe around June-July, as in May they still had the old set. Wish I could find that supposedly brief era somewhere...

Here’s some more Salt Lake City rarities!

Is that George's Dad Nick Clonney doing the news in SLC back in the early 90s? What? How long did that last? He was well known in Cincinnati & Los Angeles.

  7. Once again the Mouse House at ABC thinks the audience needs another Lifestyle and news show. Because NBC does it doesn't mean ABC needs to be a copycat. So when 2022 will daytime tv be game shows, and news shows? These same shows can be found on cable and you have cable news on all day. Television audience needs to be entertained and as long Cheeto man, in D.C. on Penn Ave. How long could the audience endure his reality show? The viewers need escape television that will make them forget about their problems and the problems around the world.

  8. Did you know that it originally aired on WCMH? When NBC bought WCMH from Outlet it was moved to WBNS for the 1996-97 TV season and it’s been there since. Wouldn’t mind seeing Live move to WSYX.

No Live Regis & Kathie Lee orinigally aired on WSYX in the 80s at 9am then it moved to WCMH around 93-94 then moved to WBNS late 90s. I'm need you to take a trip to the main library downtown Columbus and pull up the old tv schedules on microfilm.

FTVLIVE.com is hearing iconic anchor Demetria Kalodimos is in talks with WZTV/FOX 17. I was thinking she would be in talks with WTVF as 5 &10pm anchor or WKRN her and Mueller together giving Nashville a strong. As Holt & Mueller been together for a long time.

Sinclair has gotten talent from competiting stations in markets. WSYX was able to get WBNS castaways to come on down the road. As well many folks at WKEF in Dayton were able to get folks from WHIO.
