Cleveland Scene has a downright scathing review of the Bally sports app....
If this is what they've pinned their hopes for the majority of their viewers (cord cutters and the DTC customers), then they may as well be doomed.
I can’t say I disagree with them!

Just noticed that WCCB has bumped Nick Cannon to 1am! They have moved Mom and Mike and Molly reruns back to 6 and 6:30pm.
Old:
6pm Nick Cannon
11:30 Mike and Molly
Midnight Mom
12:30 Two Broke Girls
1am Kelly Clarkson repeat
New
6pm Mom
6:30 Mike and Molly
11:30 Two Broke Girls
Midnight Kelly Clarkson repeat
1am Nick Cannon
Evidently Nick totally bombed at 6pm in Charlotte. Any other markets demote him? This can’t bode well for its future. At least on WCCB.

Sounds like Dr. Phil will fall in line with the rest of the ViacomCBS troublemakers of the last several years which includes Dan Schneider, Les Moonves, Charlie Rose, Peter Dunn, and David Friend. Get in Line Phil McGraw.
Wonder if WSOC would finally pull the trigger on that 4pm newscast?

It would be a smart addition to their netlet (especially MNTV) stations, especially if they're in markets they do not have a local morning newscast from 7-9 or already have a station doing local news at the same time....cough cough...WMYT....cough cough.
I said the same thing on Discord about WMYT. All they would have to do is cut out a run of Divorce Court and Relative Justice and shift everything accordingly to 10am-1pm.

Rickey Smiley is based in Atlanta, thus they feel it's good for the timeslot. And for all that's said, it's very cheap (a few robo-cams with a Tricaster-like setup) and requires little time in the edit bay, fills a half-hour, and branding it as gossip makes it easier on the lawyers. Sometimes, that's all that's needed for a show to survive Fallout-style immaterial.
As soon as I asked the question I figured there had to be an Atlanta connection

I wonder what will happen with her role on 'Dish Nation'?
I can’t believe Dish Nation hasn’t been cancelled. How is it still airing at 7 on WAGA? I thought YBYL would’ve taken that time slot in the fall.

Not happening. The FCC will see this and force Apollo to divest one of them to a seperate, unrelated owner. They'll divest WXIA.
And WATL

Cox owns ABC in Atlanta and Tenga owns NBC also in Atlanta.Conflict maybe there too.
Same with Charlotte. And in Seattle, Cox owns CBS and Tegna owns NBC.

Boy oh boy. That's gonna be interesting. Don't want to see them take over Tegna. They certainly haven't done a good job running the channels they currently have either. So them scooping up Tegna is not something I want to look forward to
According to that article they are only going to be the minority owners. But yeah.

The linked THR article from above says NewsNation execs are "salivating" at the chance of putting news on The CW, so get used to the idea of it bud.
Sounds like it might be at 10pm Eastern. Interesting. That’s when a lot of stations run newscasts produced by CBS, NBC and ABC stations. Maybe those stations would delay them to 10:30 or 11pm.

Yes the look is good and the new set is very nice, modern and sleek. It is just a mistake to drop FOX46 as their channel identity. On the first day they used a rotating logo bug with both FOX46 and Queen City News. They should have continued with that. Since FOX46 is the channel identity and Queen City News should be the title of the newscast. It should be "from FOX46 in Charlotte, this is the Carolinas own Queen City News." This incorporates both the legacy channel brand as well as the promotional title of the newscast.
I agree. And kept Fox 46 outside of newscasts (syndicated programming bugs).
but the series premiere will be pre-empted in the NYC market due to an afternoon college basketball game on FOX
Charlotte too, it will premiere on WJZY at 1am Monday night. It will settle into its regular time slot Tuesday afternoon at 1, replacing TMZ Live. Oz was most recently on WMYT.

They can retaliate by pulling affiliations, but Nexstar will gladly take them on instead.
16 hours ago, Myron Falwell said:And anger all the affiliates owned by Sinclair, Gray, Scripps and Hearst? Yeah good luck decimating the affiliate base trying to push a proprietary news service that practically no one is watching.
What about in markets like Columbia, SC where there’s no Nexstar station to take the CW affiliation that WIS 10.2 could theoretically dump in your scenario?

Here's the website for The Good Dish with a page on where the show will be seen on:
Charlotte is incorrect, I guess they just listed WMYT at 2 because that was Dr. Oz’s time slot, but as I stated above it will be at 1pm on WJZY.

CW55, I mean CW12 coming soon? And a call letter change from WMYT to WCWT?

The Good Dish will be on WJZY. Its regular time will be 1pm, replacing TMZ Live. However it will premiere at 1am Monday night the 17th due to Fox MLK Day college basketball. To fill the Dr. Oz void WMYT will have two runs of Relative Justice at 11 and 11:30am, a show it didn't even clear until this week, followed by two runs of Divorce Court at noon and 12:30. TMZ and Extra each slide back a half hour to 1 and 1:30 and Dateline moves back an hour to 2. TMZ Live will still air at 3 on WMYT but there was no need for two runs of the same episode on the stations, except when WJZY aired Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon in its TMZ Live time slot when they were airing TNF and the World Series that night.

I wish you would persuade them to remain FOX46. Most folks seem to have a negative reaction to Queen City News and think it is a bad idea. And they haven't changed their FOX8 in Greensboro or their FOX56 in Lexington, Ky. This just seems juvenile and stupid.
Yeah it seems like WJZY is the guinea pig again, like they were when Fox Television Stations bought the station and they went to the Hey, Hey Carolinas soft news format. But they are more competitive this time and at least they are not doing soft news so time will tell.

I was hoping the new branding would have launched by now. What's the next marquee event (by FOX) when this could happen?
Or (with a nod to John Landis) should we see what happens next Wednesday?
Or at this rate, just call it Fox 46 Charlotte Queen City News and be done with it?
It’s just going to be Queen City News (Fox Charlotte outside of news) and it begins next Monday. I like the Fox 46 Charlotte Queen City News. Good Day Charlotte is going to become Queen City News Now.

Nexstar couldn't be that shortsighted
Yes they can be that shortsighted.
If they were going to do this, with Ellen leaving next year anyway they should’ve just moved her to 9 for the rest of the season and moved Y&R to 3 to keep it as a lead-in. Maybe it was a CBS mandate to air Y&R in pattern as David Salter on Discord suggested. But I doubt it.

According to TV Passport, WNCN in Raleigh is cutting the noon newscast down to a half hour, and moving The Young and the Restless to 12:30p (currently they air it at 4p). Y&R has aired at 4p in Raleigh since 1993.
WRAL started the practice and WNCN continued it in 2016. Thought WNCN would move it when it got the affiliation. My Carolina Talk moves up to 9am. I imagine they will start a 4pm news.
