It is. It's not coming back and neither is 2 Broke Girls.

Both had a good run. Ironically they will be basically replaced by American Housewife and the Neighborhood (maybe not on the same stations) but Katy Mixon was on Mike and Molly and then went to American Housewife (for a lead role) and Beth Behrs was on 2 Broke Girls and then went to The Neighborhood. I think WCCB could end up with both shows because they have both M&M and 2BG.

Big changes coming July 4 to both WJHL’s ABC and CBS channels.

Dr. Phil moves from 10am on WJHL ABC Tri-Cities to 9am and from 4pm to 3pm on WJHL CBS Tri-Cities.

The 9am news on WJHL ABC moves to 10am and Let’s Make a Deal moves from 3pm to 10am on WJHL CBS. Daytime Tri-Cities moves from 10am to 9am on WJHL CBS.

WJHL CBS starts a full 4pm news that day that replaces Dr. Phil. Daytime Tri-Cities replaces The Good Dish which presumably will no longer air in the Tri-Cities. It’s getting cancelled anyway.

3. I just happened to think, Mike and Molly might be leaving broadcast syndication. It currently airs on WBNX at 10 and 10:30 but it is not on their fall schedule. It could be moving to another station in Cleveland but more likely it is leaving syndication.

4. Former WBTV meteorologist Leigh Brock has resurfaced at rival WSOC. UPDATE: She is just filling in.

Also I’m way late on this one but Grace Grill has joined the WJZY sports team. Grace Remington has apparently left after less than a year at the station.

This looks more and more like Paramount and Warner Bros. jointly shutting down the CW and selling the remains to Nexstar (satellite uplinks, whatever remains of an affiliate base).

That would mean that Nexstar-owned CW affiliates (even ones that used to be owned by Tribune) will become independents once again. That includes KWGN Denver, WPIX New York, KTLA Los Angeles, KPLR St. Louis, KDAF Dallas/Ft. Worth and KIAH Houston.

I could be way off but the existing CW shows left could go to streaming and the CW as we know it might not necessarily shut down completely but could turn into something completely different. That lines up with this rumor I saw on Twitter.

The kids gotta get their fill of...the Goldbergs and Young Sheldon before they head to school 🤣😂🤦‍♂️

That would make sense except that most elementary schools start at 8. Now some might start at 8:30 so they might get to catch some Bev bombs or Murray tell Adam or Barry they are a moron. 😂 If they were trying to reach that audience they should air it at 6 and 6:30 😂

Sinclair (Deerfield) may take issue to that, and may already have the rights to the name.  WSTR in Cincinnati had been "Star 64" for much of it's history from 1990-98 and ever since 2009.

Wasn't The Movie Channel also known as "Star" in it's early days as well?

Yeah scratch that idea

Actually thought about this before you brought it up. Could see them going with a shorter version, like Star Network, with stations branding as Star ##.

Now that’s an idea

No.  Y&R's 12:30-1:30 slot has been key to its success over the decades.  Gets a half hour jump on the other channels starting shows at 1.  By 1:30 all the hour shows are in progress so you've got a built in audience at 1:30.

That’s a fair point, even though some NBC affiliates air Days at noon.

WNCN kept Y&R at 4 because WRAL had been carrying it at that time since 1993.

If Y&R moved to 1 PM and B&B to 2, I  figure that the earlier time zones would still have Y&R at 11 AM and B&B at 1 PM.  There are a few stations (Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Nashville, and  Springfield, MO) that presently carry Y&R at 11:30; they might opt to carry it at noon. I would suspect that CBS would turn it back over to the affiliates at 2:30/1:30.

If they gave 2:30/1:30 to the affiliates would allow CT/MT/PT an hourlong midday news but not ET. I think CBS should give the ET affiliates the choice by adding another feed of  YR and another feed of B&B. Either keep YR at 12:30 and 1:30 or move it to 1 and 2. So you’d have three feeds of Y&R at noon, 12:30 and 1 ET and two of B&B at 1:30 and 2 ET. It’s just a suggestion to give affiliates more flexibility but it might be more expensive to add more feeds.

I suspect there are more than a few CBS affiliates that would agree about moving Y&R to 1 and B&B to 2.  There must be some that dislike having a half-hour noon newscast when the ABC and NBC affiliates have an hour. OTOH, the CBS affiliate in Raleigh, which is owned by Nexstar, cut its noon news to 30 minutes, moved Y&R from 4 PM to 12:30, and added a 4 PM newscast.

I know WBTV probably would like to have the full hour at noon. I was surprised WNCN did that after they inherited the 4:00 Y&R from WRAL in 2016 Maybe CBS could keep the 12:30 ET and 1:30 ET feeds of Y&R and B&B for ET affiliates who only want a half hour of news at noon and they could air syndie fare at 2:30 ET.

If that happens, KDKA-TV could actually have a LIVE 12:30 newscast instead of a recorded CW version.

There’s no point in doing it if it is just going to be a repeat of the noon news.

700 Club is no worse than that waste of space, The Talk on CBS.  CBS should've  let that show die ages ago.  It'll never be The View no matter how hard they try.

Wish CBS would give 12:30 to the affiliates, move Y&R to 1, expand B&B to an hour at 2 and dump The Talk.

KRIV Fox 26 in Houston is one of the stations airing "The Jennifer Hudson Show" this fall. That according to a commercial I recently saw.

Yeah apparently promos are already out. That poster on the other board saw it on WYFF. Not a surprise those stations are getting that show. KRIV is a Fox O&O and WYFF is Hearst.

15. Read on the other board that WYFF is picking up Jennifer Hudson. Likely at 2pm. Not a surprise with them being a Hearst station. They still have another hole with The Good Dish getting cancelled. Wonder if they will finally clear the fourth hour of Today. Doubtful. I also have noticed (slightly off topic) that NBC has quietly started a late night show called “Top Story With Tom Llamas”. When did that premeire?

I doubt WISH-TV would go back to CBS but Fox seems like a natural fit for WISH. Fox could sweeten the deal by acquiring WISH and WNDY and making them FOX/My O&Os. WISH already has a news department and Indy has an NFL Team (Colts) which could help Fox market WISH/WNDY. Circle City has basically been Nexstar with a different name anyway( take one look at their news presentation and you will agree).

Indy is not an NFC market but that is not as important with the new contract starting next year. Fox might be able to have more Colts games.

Would have been nice to see Katz TV Group offer a Fall 2022 preview by now. Not only to see what the cash/barter splits for the new syndies are going to look like, but also even the cheap barter filler for the weekends as well. Not to mention what off-net syndicated shows are new for the year, and whether or not two particular NBC "Must See TV" zombies get their 8th, 9th or even 10th runs...

We know American Housewife and The Neighborhood are the off-net sitcoms. Who is the launch group for The Neighborhood? I forgot it was up for syndication until I saw the WBNX schedule. There was never an article. The CBS secondary O&O’s are American Housewife’s. Nexstar? Fox O&O’s have Pictionary.

According to IndieWire, they're also swapping early in Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Philadelphia and San Diego.

IndieWire | After ‘Ellen,’ a Noisy Fight to Crown the New Daytime Talk Show Darling

Included in that was a bit about the rough showing Jennifer Hudson had at upfronts last week.

I don't have real high expectations for her show, but I hope that was just a case of nerves in that format, otherwise that doesn't bode well.

WCAU is also swapping Ellen and Kelly on June 6.

WCCB already put Kelly Clarkson in her time slot in September when they acquired her from WJZY/WMYT. Clearly they signed a long-term deal with Clarkson.
