Josh Sims is leaving WJZY…he didn’t say where he was going. He just finished his last Charlotte Sports Live. That was the announcement.

The Founder's Day of Caring was sidelined last year due to the pandemic. They're doing it big this year.I thought this was just a one time thing because of the 25th anniversary but Charlotte is still a relatively new Nexstar market.

Same thing's going on in Western Massachusetts.
All the stations are doing it.

Happy 25 years Nexstar!

Here's the catch. It'll be 23 bucks for month. A bit too steep for one or two channels for me
Agreed. For $23 a month you should be able to get ALL the networks.

Meta question… the banner at the top of this thread has said it’s about to become “coming and goings” for like two years now.
Is that ever going to happen?
Been wondering the same thing

KTBC Senior News Director Stacy Davis passed away due to cancer after a long tenure with the station. Ann Wyatt Little who is now at WJZY worked with her. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CP8R1XXF2xB/?utm_medium=copy_link

Outside of San Francisco (and maybe Sacramento), Pacific Time in the TV landscape is basically the same as Eastern Time? (with network news at 6:30, Access hour at 7pm, Primetime at 8, Prime news at 10 and late news at 11?)
The temptation is there for sure to mess with the feeds and air things earlier if they can...
Arizona is even wackier since they don't follow DST...
San Francisco did away with early prime after a few years. It was just their NBC and CBS station that did that. Sacramento is the only PST station that has it.

Well if they let him go that seems like a big mistake by Nexstar. He was one of their more popular personalities and did a good job with an entertaining style weather segment that seemed well suited for the morning show. They previously had a good mix of hosts for the morning program, but now have lost Nick Kosir along with Chuck Roads, Paige Fehling and Brigida Mack. Not sure why they wanted to dismantle a good team that seemed to be working well. But holdover Jason Harper and Ann Wyatt Little seem to make a good team moving forward, so we shall see. But the show now seems to be more news oriented with less entertainment, interviews, and cooking segments. So I guess the typical "moving in a different direction" as these changes occur.
Ann actually replaced Morgan Norwood who was fired for accidentally letting an f bomb slip on a hot mic. But she has been with the station. Paige moved to the noon and 4pm news. But still a big shakeup in the morning.

I honestly had no idea he was viral but his dancing seems pretty legit (much better than the average TikToker). Seems like he was ousted unexpectedly, so this is sad. FOX 46 needs to get over its growing pains soon, because there's been too much switcharoo recently.
It seems like it has mostly been in the mornings.

Bally Sports is live! A few affiliates have started showing this new On-Air logo bug. Looks like the new game time logo bug will keep the same similar look with the team logo next to the network logo. I guess they are going to use the "B" a lot more often than just Bally Sports text. I kinda like it with the red shade. It helps the logo look more visible so it doesn't blend in with the ice for hockey games.
Bally Sports South’s first program was technically a Stars-Predators replay so it still had the old graphics and BSSE had Hawks at Suns at 10 so technically that game started on FSSE and ended on BSSE!

For the Triad: I could see Tegna as a player for WMYV as well. As for WXLV it is more tricky, Nexstar/Mission could claim WXLV but I wonder what the ratings for XLV is for that to be legal.
For Raleigh: I could also see WLFL or WRDC go with Nexstar/Mission as well. It is very unlikely that Disney would want a duopoly. The other station could get bought by Bahakel Communications and have their master control in Charlotte at WCCB.
Tegna would work for WMYV...then they could put Good Morning Carolina on there and have it go all the way to 9am.

I think if Sinclair was smart they would sell stations with little to no news departments and then focus on Tripolies that they can sell as well.
For example, the Fox Stations that Sinclair owns but has Tegna, Cox, or someone else airing newscasts need to be sold to said company that is airing the Newscasts on the Sinclair Fox Stations. It would save Sinclair millions for having to pay said companies to produce newscasts.
Even though the stations I’m speaking of are not Fox, they definitely need to get rid of WXLV/WMYV in the Triad. If WGHP and WXLV ever reversed their 1995 affiliation swap, a WGHP/WXLV duopoly would be a no-brainer in the Triad. But I doubt WGHP would ever go back to ABC. And as far as WLFL/WRDC in the Triangle, would love to see WTVD/WLFL (WTVD already produces WLFL’s 10:00 news) and WRAL/WRDC and WRAZ go on their own, but I don’t think any ABC O&O has a duopoly partner?

WJZY set
in Sets & Studios

They did get Annie Szatkowski from the Fox affiliate in Grand Rapids for Good Day Charlotte weekends back in April. I didn’t even know she had joined the station until she filled in for Jason Harper last week on the weekday version. I think she might have replaced Rochelle Metzger, who I had no idea had left.
