KUSA is reporting this morning that in Denver this dispute is only affecting KUSA/NBC programing for now.  I havn't seen the crawl on KTVD at all & the KTVD website doesn't have the "Attention AT&T/DirecTV customers" banner on there website.

The crawl was on WCNC last night

And that he's quietly moved on with the purchase of KBSI/WDKA from Sinclair (and with more deals with them possibly down the line as part of Sinclair's efforts to pay down its debt from the RSN acquisition) so I'm not sure that Kim is even going to make another push to take over Tegna and just focuses on being one of the major shareholders in the company

If he could close on Tegna by Tuesday at 7 that would be greaaat...as a DirecTV guy maybe I could keep NBC 😜

Looks like TEGNA might be close to a dispute with DIRECTV/ATT Uverse:

In my market, this would make 4 stations (WISH, WTHR, WNDY, WALV-CD) that AT&T isn't carrying, WISH/WNDY for well over a year now.

AT&T is a company built on pure greed.

So I personally could be losing WCNC. ☹️

I also think it would be best if they moved the main crew back to a M-F schedule instead of Sun-Th to align things up better.

WCCB also did the Sun-Thur schedule when they first launched their news department. Never understood why.

Instead of doing a news update during the late halftime show, WFLD carried the second segment of the Visa halftime report and then did a brief local segment with the Bears Gameday Live crew during the ensuing commercial break.

Does anybody remember if WFLD did a news update during the week 1 late halftime show?

WJZY did that the first year they had Fox when WBTV produced their news. And I think WCCB did that when WSOC produced theirs.

I honestly wouldn't be shocked if Nexstar starts putting Antenna TV on all of their stations once the agreements with other owners run out (WTIC in Connecticut, for instance, may just lose it to WTNH once Bounce moves to WHPX). Heck, I'm pretty sure the only reason it's not on more Nexstar stations is because of affiliation agreements with other networks, like the Katz and Weigel networks (the former may not be as much of a problem for longer thanks to the Ion buyout).

WJZY is another example...it will probably get it back from WCCB when that contract runs out. Ironically WCCB picked it up from WJZY after FTS bought WJZY. It won’t be on 46.2 though because it maps to WMYT 55.1.

The morning show looks exactly the same.

And is that the new news director’s strategy? Repeat everything he did in Charlotte?

So he came from WCNC? So that’s why it’s Wake Up Atlanta. I had known Ella was at WGCL, but just assumed it was WXIA because of it being sister stations to WCNC forgetting she was at WGCL. And it’s not even Monday.

  8. WGCL has rebranded their morning show as “Wake Up Atlanta.”

Lindsay Clein -- a news anchor who is still there at last check

She is still there, and her family lives in Winston-Salem I believe so hopefully she will stick around a while. The station needs some stability. She took Diana Alvear’s 6 and 10:00 spot when she left in February.

I haven't seen this posted but KOLR 10/ Ozarks Fox meteorologist Elisa Raffa has left to join Nexstar station Fox46 in Charlotte.

That's interesting.  She makes the third person I know to join WJZY after leaving KOLR10.

Leaving her former station was difficult for her

  11. Right after the Braves-Mets game ended I saw a promo on WJZY for their 10:00 news, about a “Moving Mayhem” feature they are doing on Monday and it said it was “Charlotte’s most watched 10:00 news.” Whaaaaaaaat? So it has passed WCCB AND WAXN at 10?

Uh here's the problem with the market, it's the Birmingham DMA. The degradation of the branding of the local TV news operations is one of the reasons why most don't even respect Birmingham as a major US city now. It's in the top 50 largest metropolitan areas in the US for Christ sake. Nobody should be calling the ABC affiliate for Birmingham "ABC Alabama" .

Yeah it's a legacy brand nowadays.

Yeah I didn’t like when WNCN went with CBS North Carolina when they first switched to CBS in 2016. That was a slap in the face to all the CBS affiliates all over the state, especially legacy affiliates WBTV and WFMY that have always been a primary affiliate since the late 40s, early 50s.
