The best way to get around the asinine Wheel rule is for Wheel to move up to 7 and let Jeopardy be the one to replace Daytime Jeopardy although in the case of WTVD it airs in late night.
-
I get it, but Wheel should be allowed to air earlier in the day or the next day if preempted
-
I just realized something. The last 30 minutes of Monday Night Countdown is being simulcast on ABC affiliates this year the weeks that they simulcast a MNF game. It preempts Entertainment Tonight on WSOC which is being rerun in late night. So you know what else won’t be shown on the East Coast O&O’s? The season premiere of Wheel of Fortune. I’m sure @WheelWarrior will be just thrilled to hear about that. I guess WTVD could air it during Daytime Jeopardy’s time slot in late night.

Poor Orlando. They haven’t had ABC for a while while now on Dish and now they don’t have NBC or CW. No WRDQ either but that’s no big loss.

Good for the comedies even if they are imports

WCCB finally updated its schedule….The Simpsons returns to its schedule for the first time in several years…but instead of simply putting it at 11:30 and midnight where Blackish was they put it at 6 and 6:30pm, and banish American Housewife to 12:30am, it will only get one airing Monday through Friday now, so five episodes a week won’t be seen. SMDH. It would be OK if they wouldn’t skip episodes. Mom ends up taking over Black-ish’s time slot. It gets 2 airings again from 11:30pm until 12:30am. A rerun of Karamo replaces the JHud rerun at 2am and a double run of (sure enough) Court Cam replaces the Kelly Clarkson rerun at 3am (not 11:30pm). No changes before 6pm. I don’t think Black-ish is getting cleared anywhere. It seems to be quietly leaving syndication. WCCB still has “To Be Announced” in its time slot (11:30pm-12:30am). They might mess around and put “Court Cam” there even though they don’t have any court shows. It has not showed up on the Charlotte schedules. Edited 11 hours ago by Nelson R.

I didn’t know there were any ABC affiliates still delaying Kimmel. An odd time to suddenly start airing him in pattern with the writers strike.

There’s a few exceptions. KIRO in Seattle has been doing the same thing for several years, air it at 2 for an hour news and a station in Oklahoma (I believe it’s Tulsa) delays it til late night).

Eight CBS Stations to Ditch CW and Go Independent This Fall
Nelson R. replied to AKA's topic in General TV
I think Tegna was hesitant to sign in both cities because of the San Diego situation. -
They have Jeopardy and Wheel at 7 and 7:30, but they could have put ET as a leadin to the evening news at 3:30 and shunted Daytime Jeopardy off to WRDQ.

Charlotte Changes beginning September 11 WBTV QC @ 3 cut to 30 minutes to make room for Investigate TV+ at 3:30 WSOC ET rerun moves from WAXN to replace Law and Crime Daily at 2:06 am which may have been cancelled WCCB Black-ish may be leaving syndication as “To Be Announced” is currently listed from 11:30pm-12:30am WJZY People Puzzler and Person, Place or Thing replace Rachael Ray at 10am. So a 2 hour game show block now because they are keeping 25WOL and Pictionary at 11 and 11:30am. A couple weeks ago they swapped back Extra/TMZ and People’s Court to 1 and 3. WMYT Equal Justice replaces Relative Justice at 11:30am and Divorce Court at 12:30pm (the latter remains at noon). I think Relative Justice was cancelled. People Puzzler and Person, Place or Thing replace the cancelled You Bet Your Life at 2 and 2:30. Justice for the People with Marilyn Milan replaces Judge Mathis at 4 and 4:30, with Judge Mathis sliding back to 5 where they were before they picked up Last Man Standing last year. So Judge Mathis reruns will be seen twice a day in Charlotte but People’s Court only once. Dish Nation moves up from 1:30 to 1am with Access Hollywood now at 1:30am. This eliminates a TMZ run (now there are just two on WJZY) but WJZY keeps its midnight AH run, kinda unnecessary to have two AH runs so close together between the stations. WAXN The most changes. They moved a lot of stuff around. 5am Tamron Hall previous day episode (replaces Pawn Stars and Storage Wars) 9am iCrme x2 (replaces Tamron) 10am 48 Hours (replaces Dr. Phil) Noon Dr. Phil reruns (replaces Law and Order SVU) 1pm Cutlers Court (replaces Couples Court which stays at 1:30pm) 3pm Mathis Court x2 (but they couldn’t get the reruns from WMYT?) 4pm Hot Bench x2 (moves from 3pm), replaces iCrime 5pm-1:30am stay the same 1:30am National News Tonight (replaces ET rerun) 2am Law and Order SVU (replaces NNT and Law and Crime Daily) 3am Funny You Should Ask (making its return to WAXN and to Charlotte TV after a year off, was previously on WBTV at 1:37am) Seems like Tamron and Dr. Phil should be switched on WAXN. No one appeared to get Court Cam in Charlotte.

Eight CBS Stations to Ditch CW and Go Independent This Fall
Nelson R. replied to AKA's topic in General TV
I posted that about WNCN only because I wasn’t sure if Sinclair was going to reup. And no WAGA doesn’t have a place to put CW programming unless its in late night. I could see WSB putting it on their .2. -
Not just Hearst. WAXN started replaying it and Inside Edition at 1am and 1:30 every night so now it won’t have to preempt Feud reruns at 8 and 8:30 anymore whenever WSOC preempts them to run various specials. And Capitol demoted ET to 6pm in Raleigh on WRAZ when it added a 7pm news on WRAL and moved Inside Edition to 7:30. But Judge Judy gets 4 runs on WNCN.

And in Raleigh-Durham it could move from WLFL to a subchannel of WNCN. -
If it’s a half hour newscast I could see ET moving to 7:30 and AH moving to the sister station.
-
I think he meant 2.
-
The Goldbergs will be in syndication at least through Labor Day week and I doubt it is leaving.

They also did not renew Bekah Birdsall’s contract. I wasn’t aware of that for a couple months. I figured it out though when they hired the girl from WRAL to do traffic and anchor at noon. Letting Bekah go didn’t sit well with me, I thought she was done dirty, a meteorologist being relegated to traffic duty and then just let go after doing a good job, but her personal life is going better, she has since gotten engaged. https://x.com/weatherbbird/status/1658835880813928449?s=46&t=L_8SY8aG39Aa8y7vEhNEAw https://x.com/weatherbbird/status/1665800092610117633?s=46&t=L_8SY8aG39Aa8y7vEhNEAw

She was replaced by Jorge Andres this week. It hasn’t been announced by the station but yes QC @3 will likely be cut to a half hour because WBTV plans on airing on InvestigateTV+ at 3:30pm starting September 11.

Maybe when General Hospital gets kicked over to Hulu or Disney Plus
