WBTV would probably choose the 11:35 feed if CBS decided to cut an hour of primetime and did this. On Fridays during football season they could air Football Friday Night from 11-11:35. WCNC might choose the 11pm feed if NBC did it since their ratings are lower at 11pm and might want to offer an alternative.

In the case of WRAL it might not be a great move. They already have a 10:00 news on Fox 50. It could be simulcast though. In Charlotte it would presumably upset the balance of three 10s and 3 11s, as WCNC’s would likely move to 10pm. Still it seems inevitable.

People are thinking this is going to be another Leno deal. I think local news moves to 10 and the late night talk shows move up a half hour. Broadcast TV is dying.

I thought it was going to be at 1 in all time zones. No reason for WCNC to change anything other than put NBC News Daily at 1. Maybe they will expand Charlotte Today back to an hour and move the noon news back to an hour at noon but I like their news from 11:30-12:30. But I guess stations could air it at noon Eastern/11am Central if they wanted to.

That makes two departures from WCCB, and they are apparently cutting WCCB News Rising by an hour in January to air Your Day With Anna Kooiman at 8am.

Former WJZY anchor and reporter Lindsay Clein is now a 4 and 5pm anchor at WXII! Good for WXII!

I read where two anchors are doing one feed and the other two are doing the other. So I guess Morgan and Vicky will do the one for the East Coast and the other two will anchor the West Coast.

It appears Lindsay Clein has left or is leaving WJZY. I figured this was coming when Nexstar took her out of the anchor chair at 6 and 10 in favor of Alicia Barnes. She didn’t even get the noon and 4pm spot. She did fill in when Annie Szatkowski or Alicia went on vacation but was relegated to a reporter role. I would be surprised if WMYT added it at this point, can’t see Nexstar wanting it to compete with Queen City News Now.

Other than the free preview in October 2020 and a handful of stations beginning to carry Morning in America and Early Morning, they foolishly have completely ignored broadcast.

Former WBTV meteorologist Leigh Brock has resurfaced at rival WSOC. UPDATE: She is just filling in. Also I’m way late on this one but Grace Grill has joined the WJZY sports team. Grace Remington has apparently left after less than a year at the station.

Maureen O’Boyle leaving WBTV in July and apparently getting out of TV altogether Just announced on the 6:00 news. This comes just over a week after Leigh Brock left the station.
