  1. Probably smart because their primetime lineup is pretty strong. I could see them dropping it in 2024 though.
  2. Rest in Paradise Chip and Jason https://www.wbtv.com/2022/11/22/wbtv-mourning-loss-meteorologist-jason-myers-pilot-chip-tayag/
  3. Sinclair has reupped with their ABC affiliates until 2026.
  4. It would just air in it’s entirety after the game and the local news. Just like now.
  5. I thought NBC was getting the night Big Ten game. CBS is getting the 3:30 game beginning in 2024 when their deal with the SEC expires. Maybe CBS does have it in 2023.
  6. Article was later updated. CBS is keeping the hour for now.
  7. WJZY restructuring their anchor teams…Robin Kanady is taking over for Morgan Frances on weekends Morgan replaces Brien Blakely at 5 who will still be on at 6 and 10
  8. Hearst TV leader seems to think ABC and CBS will follow
  9. KWGN and KPLR (both CW affiliates) already do this. KPLR airs a newscast at 7pm.
  10. Capitol will just simulcast on WRAZ…they already simulcast the 4:30-7am, noon and the 4pm anyway. WRAZ could have WRAL’s news at 11 if the Tonight Show moves to 10:35 or 11 but if the Tonight Show doesn’t move up there’s no need to do that. I just can’t see that happening.
  11. https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/with-nbc-near-certain-to-cut-primetime-prepare-for-a-10-p-m-news/
  12. It doesn’t provide any value to anyone. Even if they are an O&O. WMYT has delayed their programming three hours since 2018, when they were still an O&O.
  13. No I’m near Charlotte.
  14. Yeah it wouldn’t be worth it. Might as well air a live newscast at 10 ET if they’re gonna go that route.
  15. If so it would be tape delayed….because the West Coast version airs at 6:30 PT (right?) and prime time wouldn’t be over til a half hour later even if they ended it a half hour later.
  16. Allison Latos leaving WSOC Last newscast is tomorrow. Leaving TV altogether and staying in Charlotte. She really has been through a lot in 11 years with the cancer scare and the loss of one of her daughters.
  17. Your move WSOC. They could put Phil on WAXN to start a temporary 4:00 news and move Hot Bench and iCrime up and cut back Couples Court and Paternity Court to one airing each (the latter isn’t even in production and I don’t think Couples Court is either).
  18. WBTV is expanding On Your Side Tonight to an hour at 7:00. https://www.wbtv.com/2022/09/08/wbtv-expands-your-side-tonight-with-jamie-boll/ It sounds like WBTV News Primetime will just be folded into it using the On Your Side Tonight name. If Jamie Boll had been the one to leave they might have used the WBTV News Primetime name instead.
  19. Time to shut it down now.
  20. And apparently also their website
  21. So BBT and YS is only holding down the fort at 11am til then.
  22. Just noticed that KSL in Salt Lake City, who delayed Days to 1:05 am, isn’t clearing NBC News Daily at all. They are replacing Hot Bench with Drew Barrymore in full, moving up Top Story an hour and putting a Dr. Phil encore after Top Story. https://ksltv.com/ksl-tv-program-guide/
  23. You answered your own question. She should’ve at least got the noon and 4pm job. I could read between the lines that she was not happy about being replaced by Alicia Barnes. She stayed through her contract.
  24. There are a few exceptions. Many affiliates air the CBS Weekend News at 6 Eastern before local news on Sundays if sports do not overrun. And a few West Coast affiliates have started airing network news live from the East Coast at 3:30 PT, before local news broadcasts.
  25. The independent stations could just move theirs back to 9pm/8pm.
