Just read this from News12 LI meteorologist Samantha Augeri's facebook account: News 12 LI isn't getting a whole new set, is it? Their current one isn't that outdated. But the way she worded it almost made me think that they were. And if they really were, they would probably have to move into the newsroom or onto a temporary set anyway, so I doubt it's a new set, probably just new equipment.

and as for David Ushery?

I can now confirm that this is true. Must have died peacefully, because he was on the air just 3 days ago. I will miss him, may he RIP.

Wait.... I just saw that Lou Young sent a tweet saying John Slattery has passed. I'll have to do more research to confirm this...

Rachel Frank has made the decision to leave WPIX after she has her baby and return to her home, that is FOX CT. I wonder if Chris Knowles will get the spot, or will Linda take all four hours? and then where does this put David? I like David at 4, and he has pretty good chemistry with Liz and Lee. When it comes to news anchoring, I'd take David over Rob any day (no offense to Rob, I still think he's a fantastic sports anchor).

Jerry Barmash reports that Arnold Diaz is back at WPIX. I can't wait to start seeing his reports. Definitely a big gain for WPIX.

Okay, when Andrea Romero did the weather last weekend, I realized it was Labor Day, and that probably meant that WNBC just wanted to give all of the other meteorologists off. But now that Veronica Johnson traveled all the way from Washington DC to do the weather here in NY today, means something. I don't see WNBC making Veronica travel here just because. All though I hope that report was wrong, maybe FTV Live was onto something, and one (or 2) WNBC meteorologists are getting axed or are leaving. We'll have to see in the coming days and weeks...

PIX11 reporter Kristina Behr is joining "The Better Show" as co-host alongside JD Roberto. Not sure if she will still be on PIX.

I don't think there was a "World News Tonight" this evening, because of college football.

I agree completely with what you said. I know many people enjoy ABC World News, because of its feel-good stories. If they want to hear about crime, terrorism, racism, etc. they could turn to CBS, cable news, or even just read the newspaper.

I would *think* David would not be anchoring tonight. My bets would be on either Dan Harris, or one of the other fill-ins.

This has to mean that this change to "World News Tonight" is permanent. I think this also means new graphics are in the works. But I could be wrong...

I think the graphics need the most change out of anything. Especially the special report lower third, it's so plain and powerpoint-ish. The world news graphics really aren't that bad. Just a little light. I wouldn't mind if they added some darker colors to them.
