Just noticed this new web feature from PIX11, it's called the "PIXCAST", with a look at the day's top stories and weather forecast. It lasts for about 1 minute. Dan Mannarino did the morning and midday pixcast, and Tamsen Fadal did the evening one. It's a nice addition, but come on, they must of derived this idea from WABC, as they just launched the Eyewitness News "Quickcast" the other day. I actually wasn't referring to 11, I was referring to 2, with WCBS' new "weather watchers" thing that they promote like crazy, that allows viewers to post their weather data from their location, as well as pictures. Now I'm not saying that you can do so from their weather app (I don't know to be honest), I was just saying that the whole "Eyewitness Weather Watchers" sounds awfully similar to "CBS 2 Weather Watchers", and that seems like that is where they got their idea from.

WNBC had a 5:00 newscast today instead of 6:00 due to the Golden Globes. From what I recall, they did this last year too.

Noticed this new reporter on WPIX, Carolyn Costello. From what I've seen of her, she used to anchor and report for KTLA, and she seemed like a pretty good anchor. Hopefully PIX gives her a chance to fill in when the opportunity arises.

WNYW just broke in for a brief 5 minutes for Commissioner Bratton's press conference, I don't believe any other station did, besides WABC.

Not sure why, but WPIX is simulcasting tonight's 5 and 10pm newscasts on Antenna TV (11.2). But it's only for tonight, and doesn't seem to be on the schedule at all tomorrow or next week. Just thought that this was kind of strange.
