If they don’t incorporate the world into their reporting or tell David Muir to talk like a normal anchor and not some theater dropout they’ll have a complete package... can we also not do weather with “millions impacted” every time a rain cloud rolls by?
-
They came from the same school of thought as KTVU and the 5 day forecast I guess...

Soon to follow: News-ish Truth-ish Worth Watching-ish Fish-ish Boring-ish And introducing: Ish-ish I think ABC’s motto must be “an ish in every home and 2 ish’s in every pot!”...

It has a public access quality from what I understand... yikes...

Yes and come say December 1st you can give yourself an “I was there to watch the short lived newscast CBS mainly outsourced” pin because most likely it’ll be gone by then. Georgia isn’t looking too in play yet (saw some polls last week that had Trumps smallest lead at 7 I think over Biden there) but Michigan and Florida are. Is CBS the only O&O operator with such a patchwork of news departments?
-
Ah Randy Bhirdo and Syma Chowdrey were involved in that if I remember correctly... Syma is now at WXYZ and I think Randy still does traffic at WWJ-AM...
-
It’s most likely just a political ad ploy... it’s unlikely they’ll start any kind of news department at all...
-
WKBD last had a real newscast of their own when their news department was shuttered in 2002... then WXYZ ran it as “UPN Action News” until 2004. Nobody around here really counts “First Forecast Mornings” as much of anything and that was on WWJ as I recall...

I’ll second the “This Morning” branding rather than “In The Morning” which sounds like its going to happen tomorrow rather than now... My, Ravi is rather outnumbered on the set tonight isn’t he?
-
It looks like something you’d use for a bumper promo in the middle of a set of commercials more than a rejoin... quicker and easier than a full blown rejoin I guess.
-
They are usually there 1-2 hours before air in addition to what you have there... so their days are rather long as is... some of them may enjoy their jobs so much that they don’t mind working a lot. The old saying about finding a job you love and it not really feeling like work....

Yes that’s it, thanks for that, it’s been a while since I’ve run into her basically anywhere, I may not have seen her since last years debacle...

Giangreco and the lady that he usually hosts with whose name is escaping me... this debacle gets a little worse by the year...

Would that be the two people I think it is?
-
No it can’t, if they are all doing it that suggests it’s hubbed. Now that I think about it I seem to recall their Fresno station having some hub operations though I can’t remember what for...
-
Not bad... Are the master controls hubbed these days?
-
It’s a pretty good effect, as for the Amtrak thing I had a similar thought about the logo on a subway car.. neat Easter egg though would they have to pay a royalty to use the logo?
-
What are we product placing for Amtrak now?
-
Where do you see that?

Isn’t WCPO supposed to be a major station? Happened to run into this video and I don’t have words to describe how bad this live shot went... https://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/hamilton-county/cincinnati/riverside/pd-train-derailment-closes-river-road Im not sure if I should feel sorry for the reporter or what... but what she’s saying is unintelligible...
-
There’s something to be said for a newsroom right behind the anchor instead... I missed a call from the 90’s and they may be trying to get me back though...
-
No... it fits the style of their newscasts...
-
That KABC lower third doesn’t need the arrest and victims condition to both be on it. That’s a station issue not really a graphic issue. Somebody doesn’t know how to work within space limitations.
-
From the nice touch department... WXYZ has started using the traditional “Good evening I’m”... across all of its newscasts when there isn’t breaking news leading off... its been almost 10 years since they used this style of open consistently. They’ve started doubling down on hard news so this may be connected to that.

It could also be that party affiliations are germane to Republicans because they tend to abuse their offices more. Democrats get more sex scandals and other out of office criminal stuff... party affiliation doesn’t amount to a hill of beans regarding who’s wife you are boning. It does matter if you gave sweetheart deals to 5 of your best buddies in exchange for campaign contributions. This bias against conservatives canard is all in your head. Katie Hill just resigned for a sex scandal and her Democratic affiliation was the first thing or nearly the first thing mentioned. Next thing will be that they only mentioned her party to save face for not mentioning it all those other times. If Conservatives feel like making things work better then they can come to the table and have a voice. Constantly whining and playing the victim and wanting nothing to happen and reading the same junk over and over about how bad they have it is really getting old. Being dragged into oblivion because 40% of the country is a supposedly persecuted conservative isn’t very much fun and as their lives continue to deteriorate for lack of investment or progress I hope they’ll use their last pennies on a mirror when they ask why it’s this way.
