It's 9 on cable and 51 on satellite and OTA. Probably because cable penetration was high in San Diego, stations like KNSD (NBC 7/39) and XHDTV (MyTV13) brand by cable numbers.

With WOIO's direction changing, it's obvious that Tanaka's ass is grass. He definitely knows he doesn't fit in with 19 News, so what to do: not give a f*ck obviously.

Hate to say it, but it feels like Gray tried to put "Action News" lipstick on a "Snoozefest 19" pig, when Gray should've shot the pig and start over. I would say give it time, but as of now it looks like they're trying too hard to be "Action News" without being "Action News".

Side note: Sunny Side Up (WOIO's 9am talk show), is still using the Limerick graphics, albeit using a live bug from the new package.

They had personalities like David Wittman and Denise Dufala (the former elder statesman of WOIO), but Raycom went cheap and decided to rely on Tucker and Tanaka for its newscasts.

Give it a year. They'll be sitting at the desk in no time, just like during the Action News era. Now we just need is Tanchak to scare the weather to you in the evenings...

"CLEVELAND 19 NEWS" IS DEAD! Long live "19 News". Edit: They're now using CBS Local instead of TITP.

4:30am and WOIO is still on the current graphics, although the "Live" bug has been changed.

As long as Nexstar lets WJW be WJW, then they'll always reign supreme in Cleveland. With Tegna meddling into WKYC's affairs and WEWS just now getting out of its slump, WOIO has an opportunity to finally relive the glory days of Action News without all the infamy.

Pretty much when WOIO canned "Action News" was the death knell competitiveness at Reserve Square. Axing David Wittman, plus Denise Dufala (who had been at WOIO since 1995), and Romona Robinson pretty much sealed Snoozefest 19's fate. Now they're trying to build around the "19 First Alert" brand ("19 First Alert Headlines"?!? REALLY?!?) and Tucker and Tanaka. Now all we need is "Like Fireflies" to replace TITP and we have the potpourri of clusterfuck.

I can understand your concern. However, this is not a rejected mock from someone at Gray, but instead it was on one of the weather monitors during an actual newscast. Likely, WOIO does have it in its systems, so the question will be when. As far as graphics saving WOIO, I know graphics alone can't save WOIO, I'm just asking that the newscasts be more watchable, that's all.

Except Viacom doesn't have sports on any of its channels, except maybe Bellator. Basically, years of mediocre programming if finally catching up to them, so Bob Bakish now has to pay for Philippe Dauman's sins. Now you see why Sheri Redstone is pursuing the CBS re-merger with Viacom.
