  1. After almost 4 years, WOIO may be finally retiring the Raycom graphics package and the "19" is getting a major change. As seen during the 4pm newscast, here it is:
  2. Except Viacom doesn't have sports on any of its channels, except maybe Bellator. Basically, years of mediocre programming if finally catching up to them, so Bob Bakish now has to pay for Philippe Dauman's sins. Now you see why Sheri Redstone is pursuing the CBS re-merger with Viacom.
  3. Meanwhile, sh*t is gonna get real! This time between DirecTV and Viacom: https://deadline.com/2019/03/daily-show-warning-viacom-directv-blackout-comedy-central-neal-brennan-att-1202578873/
  4. Valley of the Dolls in 1994, however that aired mainly on New World's stations (ie WJW)
  5. Honestly, The Chew was taken down by the Mario Batali sexual harassment claims. If Mario hadn't been accused, then The Chew would still probably be on the air.
  6. No. I do think it might be more of a Nexstar thing than a Gray thing. If I took a guess, I'd say that Nexstar wanted to be exclusive CBS for Lafayette, so bye-bye WAFB.
  7. If took away a few elements (normal high/low, Chicage's photo, possibly the sponsor), it would look much better.
  8. Congratulations to Rich Morgan for sticking it through thick and thin. Through good owners (Williamson, Media General) and bad (Piedmont), he has been a legend at WKBN.
  9. Too bad I can't pull in WJW with said antenna.
  10. No surprise there since the past year or two, they've been pushing Tiffani Tucker and Chris Tanaka as the main anchors, while Mark Nolan and Romona Robinson felt they were being phased out.
  11. And I have Spectrum only because I can't get some OTA (particularly WJW) in good. So, this whomps.
  12. Or revive game shows. Now where's that Spectrum27 guy?
  13. Translation: Jeff was getting too expensive for KDKA's payroll.
  14. Would make sense, especially if Gray and/or Scripps are terminating the SSA and "Fox 29" moves to WHDT. However, that does leave Gray with a WFLX without any programming.
  15. Even by Tegna standards, it's the stupidest thing I ever saw.
  16. It's the obsession of being first instead of being right. Being first still sells, apparently.
  17. *Cough* WUAB's 7:30pm newscast! *cough*
  18. How does AT&T get to keep HBO? Last I checked, its still a part of Time Warner, albeit with plenty of autonomy from Turner.
  19. Here's the thing: CBS bundles Showtime into its carriage agreements, whereas HBO has a seperate carriage agreement for its channels from the rest of WarnerMedia. On another note, this comes at the worst time for AT&T, which means that now the DoJ now has fuel to fight the merger.
  20. Even New Vision/LIN/MG/Nexstar's treatment of WKBN/WYTV look much better.
  21. #BringBackHBOBoxing But seriously, how many rural people actually watch HBO? It's the same argument that Dish made years ago when they dropped AMC, citing that its viewers (mostly rural) don't really fit AMC's target demo. That, or Charlie Ergen needs to go.
  22. Unless the NBC lawyers can invoke a "morality clause".
  23. I guess Tegna figured that WKYC can maintain 2nd place. Question is, can WOIO or WEWS finally capitalize on Tegna-itis finally infecting the Digital Broadcast Center on Lakeside Avenue?
  24. They've been trying to phase out Romona in favor of Tucker and Tanaka for the past year ever since Romona gave up the 11pm newscast. Since Romona is no longer getting focus at WOIO/WUAB, it makes sense that she leaves on her terms.
