  1. Any bets that Scripps will hire someone that has a digital fetish? Also, will anyone place bets on when KMGH FINALLY falls behind KWGN in the ratings?
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if WFMY, KOTV, and KUTV all get in line next year and run CBS This Morning 7-9. However, I could see WFMY running a 9am hour of GMS. KOTV and KUTV? Maybe, if they're willing to keep Let's Make a Deal at 2.
  3. Will WUPL carry "Eyewitness Morning News" from 7-9am? Or will it be canned altogether?
  4. And the award for cheapest logo goes to...
  5. Hell, KXTV can't even touch KOVR/KMAX.
  6. I'm actually impressed that WGBA got the Scripps V2 graphics. As far as "Storm Shield" for branding, KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!!
  7. Wait, isn't WKYC already second in most timeslots? And WEWS has generally traded third or fourth with WOIO until recently.
  8. I agree. There's nothing to draw anyone to WEWS anymore, whereas WOIO at least has the Sony game shows and CBS.
  9. If NTV can snatch ABC from KLKN, I expect KFXL to put ABC on 51.2.
  10. Not to mention that WSVN started the trend of not clearing Fox Kids in 1993, which was later done by New World stations and caused them to lose the SatAM wars to Kids' WB.
  11. To mardek:
  12. At long as WEWS keeps the "Circle 5", I'm all for the rebrand. Now about "The Now Cleveland"...
  13. What about ABC2 Myspace?
  14. I hope he dosen't say Ohio. We already know that WCPO is doing ok, so... Any bets on ABC5 News?!?
  15. Say what you will about Bill Applegate, but you never had property damage and shouting matches at Reserve Square during his tenure. Looks like Raycom might need to clean house (AGAIN!!!) and possibly take Cleveland 19 News out behind an alley.
  16. Scripps getting WBNS?!? That might just propel WSYX/WTTE to #1 if Nexstar can't get WCMH up and running again. If Scripps gets a hold of WBNS, 10 can say goodbye to WoF and J!
  17. If Dispatch is cashing out seperately, I would expect Raycom to possibly entertain talks of buying WBNS and having a statewide bureau for its other stations (WXIX, WOIO, and WTOL). Then again, Raycom had a chance to get a station in Mobile and they didn't take it due to probably having to trade something in return.
  18. Couldn't WOIO rebrand as say, "CBS Action News", or worse, "CBS Cleveland News"?
  19. Prior to Action News, WOIO was 19 News (1995), CBS 19 News (1997), Hometeam 19 News (1999), and back to 19 News (2001). With Mancuso resigning, it's safe to say that Cleveland 19 News is a failure. The only way I could see WOIO being competitive again is if they bring back Action News but similar to the last few years of the format.
  20. I'm calling it now, another rebrand for WOIO might come in 2017.
  21. Saw this on WFMJ on the TV in the break room. Can anybody who has Directv tell me if it means that there's a blackout or something?
  22. If I'm making a guess of what "Next with Kyle Clark" will be like, I have to imaging that it will be like Channel 3 News at 7 on WKYC, just with a little bit more social media pandering.
  23. Meanwhile, WFMJ had a little scare this morning. http://www.wfmj.com/story/32314951/man-in-custody-after-walking-into-wfmj-lobby-with-gas-can-and-lighter
  24. Here's a better idea: just relaunch The Now Cleveland as NewsChannel 5 at Four AND STOP KISSING UP TO SOCIAL MEDIA!
  25. Except for maybe WWOR, which requires "news programming" of some sort due to licensing, the reasoning is that it would cannibalize the ratings for their Fox sister stations.
