That's KTAL exactly. And this was also KTAL before the purchase of KSHV three years ago. Now, KSHV airs two reruns of Judy at 5 and 6pm, with Texarkana First News airing at 5:30 and 6:30, although they're moving the repeats of Judy to Noon and 12:30 pm to replace CWD. I know it's a Nexstar station but most Nexstar stations aren't that lazy. KTAL could do a 12:30 newscast leading out of Arkansas Today to lead into Days of Our Lives. It wouldn't have any competition as KTBS does theirs at 11am and KSLA's is only 30 minutes from Noon to 12:30 for obvious reasons.

Exactly. Very lazy. KTAL and KSLA do that too, showing infomercials after Newscasts. Is it that much to either show an hour of news (or in KTAL's case, a local Newscast after Arkansas Today) or buy half hours of syndicated shows?

I turned 20 in April.

I posted that in the shout box. It wouldn't surprise me if they did because a great portion of CW viewers stream the shows anyway but that didn't stop a Sunday expansion from happening. If they could get affiliates to agree to Sunday nights, Saturday may not be a hard sell. Some stations would welcome it. KPXJ and KMYS both just air sitcom/drama reruns on Saturday night.

Doesn't Scott always?

I already posted that in the Nexstar thread.

Y'all, Nexstar is trying to get KRBK. https://www.ozarksfirst.com/video/nexstar-to-acquire-krbk_20180802161330/1341474669 Don't know if it's been posted yet but better safe than sorry.

Ok. Hearst did drop those networks off of WCWG. However, they left Bounce TV (also a Scripps network) on the lineup. Escape and Laff may stay for all we know.

So, the people that bought KXJB now want to challenge the KCPM sale. Interesting turn of events.

Or Standard Media.

Ah. The meteorologist co anchoring. This is KSLA with Ron Young on the 9am newscast.
-
What's an example of that? Just curious.

Fellow NBC affiliate WOOD does this. And I think KXAS does this too.

Exactly. She's currently in a wheelchair and had to step down from the 10pm because it got too tough for her to go home between the 6 and the 10pm broadcasts. That's a sad thing to watch someone you love go through.

http://www.wafb.com/story/38362607/donna-britt-to-retire-from-wafb 38 years at the station and she's battling ALS. She currently anchors the 6pm newscast and is retiring on June 13th (A week from today). I wish her luck with her battle and hope that she can enjoy her time with her family. Elizabeth Vowell took over for her whenever Britt stepped down from the 10pm newscast so I'm thinking she'll add that to her duties as well.

KTAL's Dan and Jacque Jovic are husband and wife and so are Melissa Kakareka and James Parish of KSLA. KSLA had another married couple, Clay Ostarly and Victoria Shirley but they moved up to Roanoke, where they now work for rivaling stations, Clay on WFXR and Victoria on WDBJ. Melissa Moon (WREG) and Melanie Moon (last seen on KPLR) are twin sisters.

Lacey Lett (of KAUT's Rise and Shine) is a relative of the Ogle family as well.

The Rascons, although they're in more than one city. Jacob is on KPRC/Houston (and formerly of NBC News) and his dad, Art, is on KTRK. Jacob's brother and Art's son, Matt, works at WHDH in Boston, and then, Dan Rascon (Art's brother), works at KUTV in Salt Lake City.

We missed this one but Gray is assuming the control of WFFP in Lynchburg via a shared services agreement (beginning June 15th) and buying WLHG (it's low-power sister station) outright, this being an outgrowth of WDBJ's CSA with WFFP. Programming produced by Liberty University will be able to air over all three stations through an agreement reached with the university, the parent company of Morning Star Broadcasting which owns WFFP and WLHG and Gray, the operator of all three stations. All of this info came from TVNewsCheck and RBR. Anyway, here is the Form 314. Includes a Shared Services Agreement for WFFP and an APA.

I say CBS' junior stations.

But Tribune says they're phasing those shows out.

Maury will finally move to WUPL.....if he even comes back. Maybe next, WJZ will drop it.

Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion

I personally don't like the guy but that's not what this thread is about. However, Allman did take that a bit far, in my opinion.
