  1. WTLV/WJXX has finally named its replacement for Tim Deegan as its next chief... Lewis Turner got the gig.
  2. And thus why Gilma's been filling in today at WNBC... because Natalie's been filling in for Frances at NBC.
  3. I'm sure there will be no conflict of interest at all. /s Don Trump, Jr. and Lara Trump ink deals with Salem. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/298639/salem-enters-into-deals-with-donald-trump-jr-lara-trump/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=jetpack_social&fbclid=IwY2xjawJqcq1leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHh4XRQ5qcZEbezeUtbzef6YvBCW84pEWTUBthHly8EpvIHvCofXpQQl-wsLf_aem_XBkJR7XQ6rnkWO6l5TqrFQ

  4. A sad day to report on SoCal broadcasting. Ed Arnold has died. I know lists aren't allowed but please allow this exception because he truly did it all in his 60 YEARS of service to broadcasting in SoCal... Joined KTLA in the late 1960s as announcer/sportscaster. Joined KABC in 1975, but left in 1986. Returned to KTLA in 1986 and stayed until 1999. The voice of KCET. Sports personality for 1110 KRLA (now KWVE), 97.1 KHTZ (now KNX-FM), and 710 KMPC (now KSPN). Co-host and managing editor of Real Orange for KOCE. Announcer for the internationally televised Hour of Power religious program. He died last Thursday after suffering from heart disease for many years. He was 86. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/ed-arnold-dead-broadcaster-los-angeles-tv-stations-ktla-kabc-1236189868/
  5. I remember her when she was anchoring at WKBN in Youngstown. Tomorrow will be Whitney Ward's last day at KREM 2 in Spokane after 12 years and will exit the TV news industry in favor of the technology industry. https://www.krem.com/article/about-us/whitney-ward-to-leave-krem-2-after-12-years/293-8f44a5b6-114f-4911-ba22-36879d0f78a1?fbclid=PAY2xjawJqQDRleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABp-OF8PSRqLdbyFndRrQVudK7HHXxvcUqg7MZX_bbx6hKlgDjPKtGS9tQrK-Z_aem_xSWvcsCS6Do8Hi26ef2VDg

  7. It's rare to see any kind of ratings news but I found one... WGRZ Buffalo who, according to ComScore in four different demos, is #1 in the morning, 5, 6 7, and 11pm. My guess is that Noon and 4pm went to WIVB but it's only a guess. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/jeremysettle_teamtegna-ugcPost-7316174833556353028-wVp6?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android&rcm=ACoAABqGw-0BrOQ_9csrv95OAtvM37gqLkE_dSc
  8. My night and my day has officially been made. I haven't seen this channel (either on TV or online like this)... in approx. 18 YEARS or so. I've been looking forever for a video of this channel and I finally found it... WPRI's former Eyewitness News Pinpoint Weather Station.
  9. Pop. There you go.
  10. 30 years of LaTrice Currie on WRCB Chattanooga. https://www.local3news.com/video/must-see-videos/congratulations-to-latrice-currie-for-30-years-at-local-3-news/video_d2e4da12-e1c4-5ca6-beb9-a36363abf5f7.html

  12. 33 years at KPLC, and nearly 3 decades anchoring 7 News Sunrise. Come June, John Bridges will stop anchoring the program as he'll entire the next phase... retirement. https://www.kplctv.com/2025/04/10/longtime-sunrise-anchor-john-bridges-announces-he-will-retire-this-summer/?fbclid=IwY2xjawJlGZJleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHt1aSQlK_ngljRMyekqegBgbQEjyB4xdWCrvmUlu5NX1aPDfLfioTkoEmhRS_aem_CujNY3ChNqMNgiay2qOjEw
  13. I decided to record the first three minutes of WBAY's noon news yesterday to see it in action for prosperity. Yes, I'm plan to do more videos like this again but not as consistent or as much as other YouTubers.
  14. They once did in Cuba but I think its been shut down. They also once had correspondents in Venezuela and Colombia. They weren't shared bureaus either, they were WPLG's own in-house news bureaus in those countries but I think they've since closed them due to the political climate in those countries as well as here.
  15. Aaron White left the evil empire that is AMG and KIMT some time ago and has now landed in TEGNA country at WBNS 10TV. https://www.facebook.com/GarofaloWX/posts/pfbid02NijYQh1wjaCAoNa2woAXMHDo3xyb1NrVMyVTFXTjJ6VKJq3ZxsUKmE3CvANfS3myl
  16. They did. They had Ross Palombo doing it for them until he left for KCBS/KCAL and the role hasn't been filled since, I believe.
  17. Aaron Wright Denise Whittaker Chris Nguyen What do these three have incommon? All appeared on Seattle TV. These same three will become the new anchors at KNWN Northwest Newsradio. Aaron (formerly from KIRO-TV) is joining afternoons and Chris (formerly from KOMO-TV for like a brief 3 month stint?) will do mornings in the interim before Denise takes over once she leaves KOMO-TV in June. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/298384/northwest-news-radio-adds-three-seattle-tv-veterans-to-anchor-lineup/
  18. Its not a good look when you replace someone who spent 20+ years at the station (Toya Washington) only for the replacement to suddenly leave after just 3 years (Kristen Pierce). I'm sorry to say this but WISN did Toya dirty. They should've given her more roles, including at 4pm, and the fact they never did or given her the 10pm on top of the 5pm, it makes them look dirty. I still like WISN 12 but something like this just makes you take a second look at them.
  19. Sticking with Milwaukee... a WDJT original is hanging it up, somewhat. Mike Strehlow has been there since day one. However, he's giving up his noon and 4pm duties so he can semi-retire in order to solely focus on CBS 58 Sunday Morning, which btw is different from their weekend morning news. https://cbs58.com/news/cbs-58s-mike-strehlow-stepping-away-from-anchor-desk
  20. Allison Rosati is back at WMAQ after a month away due to an illness. https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/allison-rosati-makes-emotional-return-to-nbc-5/3717381/?_osource=SocialFlowFB_CHBrand&fbclid=IwY2xjawJijPRleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHtU_UW_5JDcPJcUZhYCVvSpfpTmSgq5EQ_4m7ckaePwSFNpw89lVLy9I1ISX_aem_tyFuVBSxMy-Aj8z2Lv-MdA
  21. The first time games will be OTA in Miami since WPXM did so from 2002 to 2005, so 20 years now.
  22. I'm not either but the article does say and sound like WABG/WXVT/WNBD will be the flagship stations... "It’s an entity owned and operated by Webb Collums, who has a strong family history in media in southwest Mississippi and is currently invested in the Mississippi Delta region."
  23. Another retirement announcement... WDBJ 7's Jean Jadhon after 33 years. She'll retire at the end of May. https://www.wdbj7.com/2025/04/08/jean-jadhon-announces-retirement-your-hometown-station/?fbclid=IwY2xjawJiZcNleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHhXhNgeZZI9HU-2ET9ChDuGEQyoWV72O4G2sB9VDfHg5dvFY4qnIA9sA7pJ2_aem_MjLfh5y18B_7uVTWzb5moQ
  24. There you go. The worst kept secret. Starting next Monday, Gary Lezak will return to KSHB 41 for a temporary three-month morning gig while Lindsey Anderson is on maternity leave. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGXfPhH5hhw&ab_channel=KSHB41
  25. One of the oldest OTA TV sports partnerships will continue... WKYC and the Guardians. https://tvnewscheck.com/programming/article/wkyc-cleveland-guardians-extend-broadcast-rights-agreement/
