  1. I'm going to provide an update on that... TEGNA is almost the first company to provide live 24/7 weather streams across all its stations. I've checked and done the research, and every station EXCEPT for KWES-TV Odessa/Midland (due to technical difficulties) has launched its weather streams. Unfortunately, since these stations took down their other streams except for the main 24/7 stream online, the only way I was able to verify was to download every single TEGNA station's streaming TV app on my Roku (later deleted afterward except for WTSP's and WTLV/WJXX's since I'm in Florida), which is available under either Live Radar 24/7 or Weather Impact 24/7.
  2. Only seven and a half months after this, WEIU-TV is going off the air. May 15th will be their final day on air. https://www.wandtv.com/news/weiu-tv-live-broadcast-to-end-switching-to-streaming-only/article_bcfeaabd-3742-454e-8b42-d364f293dc42.html
  3. KUNS ARC Seattle (The CW) is the official home of the Seattle Storm and has announced today that all non-national exclusive games of the WNBA franchise will air on KUNS with select simulcasts on KOMO. That is 35 games right there. https://komonews.com/news/local/where-to-watch-seattle-storm-wnba-announce-2026-local-broadcast-schedule-kuns-komo-news-tv-cw-seattle-refined
  4. We got a big retirement coming up in WPB. Liz Quirantes has been the face of several generations across her 35 years at WPEC, including being a part of the station's version of their dream team from the late 90s to mid 2000s, which included Curt Fonger, John Matthews, and Pat Murphy. Today, she has announced her retirement after an amazing, wonderful run.
  5. And he's now landed in Charlotte at WBTV as their digital meteorologist. https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/wbtv-charlotte-adds-paul-heggen-as-digital-meteorologist/
  6. Canada Get a good look at CTV.ca and Noovo.ca right now because by next Friday, May 1st, the websites and apps will be going bye bye in favor of Crave, its streaming platform. https://www.bellmedia.ca/advertising-sales/resources/news/ctv-and-noovo-content-moves-to-crave/
  7. This video on the 'Gram has confirmed it all. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXkw40AkV4y/?igsh=MTV4MXIwczNoNHRyZQ==
  8. After nearly 20 years on Good Day Sacramento, Ashley Williams is leaving the program. However, unlike Dina Kupfer who just left the station, Ashley is NOT leaving KOVR/KMAX. Instead, she's moving to the night shift to anchor Primetime Sacramento at 8:00 on KMAX 31.
  9. David Chandley's final sign off after 42 years on Georgia (the only state he's ever worked at in his career) television, 38 in Atlanta, and the last 11 on WAGA FOX 5 Atlanta.
  10. Canada CPAC has canceled their two flagship programs, Primetime Politics (English) and L'Essentiel (French). Revenue declines and a slow rollout of CRTC's Online Streaming Act are to blame. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/cpac-program-staffing-cuts-9.7172425
  11. Slovenia You can now count on RTV Slovenia as list of broadcasters not showing the Eurovision Song Contest this year due to Isarel's participation in the event. Instead, it will air reports and documentaries on Palestine. This is from a report from ITV News: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXfKaocjE9o/?igsh=a2pjZzZxNGFhZGRt
  12. Here's an interesting new program coming next season on syndication... Front Office Sports Tonight. FOX O&Os are the main group to air them but it'll also be on other station groups such as Gray, Sinclair, and even Sunbeam (so possibly WSVN in my market and either WHDH or WLVI in Boston to carry it).
  13. It looks like there are more changes coming to WFTX and WXCW (this is after looking at various TV schedules, mainly from OnTVTonight, TV Passport, and Zap2it via Gracenote). On the same day WINK brings back their 11am news on WFTX (they used to do one on WXCW some 15 years ago), WINK will transition all of their newscasts that have originated on WXCW since 2007 (except for Sunday mornings at 9am) to WFTX. This means that WFTX will be the exclusive home to WINK's 7am-12pm, 6:30-7, and 10-11pm newscasts, plus weekend mornings (6-9am Sat. and 10-11:30am Sun.) and 10pm. It also looks like WXCW will transition to mainly an entertainment schedule (outside of Sunday mornings at 9am, as I mentioned) and will even include MyNetworkTV programming on weeknights from 10pm-12am after The CW's primetime programs, meaning it would become a dual CW/MNT affiliate.
  14. If you want to Shop Scripps now... go right ahead.
  15. Something is definitely up at WPTV. Frances Peyton is leaving this week, which will soon leave their weather team very short-staffed. All they'll have left is James Wieland, Sami Squires, and the recently hired Skylar Spiner. With Steve Weagle's retirement (and Steve Villanueva leaving a year or so before him to join WFLX's sales team), Frances leaving, Jennifer Correa leaving after a short stint, new Chief Chris Sowers already gone, and even Kate Wentzel also gone (her bio is no longer on the page), things are changing at WPTV and not for the better without the station saying a word. Comments are also saying that WPTV's longtime Chopper 5 has been permanently grounded after having been the only news chopper in town for decades (after WPEC retired theirs in the late 90s or early 2000s). https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=4374555696112686
  16. KSMQ is still going to be around, but instead its now managed by... https://northpine.com/2026/04/18/twin-cities-pbs-takes-over-operations-of-southern-minn-station/
  17. Arielle Mitropoulos is leaving WMUR Manchester tomorrow after a three-and-a-half year stint. She's lucky though because she doesn't have to work or move far away from there for her next job. Because next week, she'll start in the same place where she interned... WCVB Boston. For the record, the distance is less than an hour away in good traffic so she'll have the move very easily for her. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/arielle-mitropoulos_some-bittersweet-but-exciting-news-to-share-share-7452508852874272769-oaoA?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android&rcm=ACoAABqGw-0BrOQ_9csrv95OAtvM37gqLkE_dSc
  18. For the first time in Jacksonville history... local news in Spanish will be arriving on May 4th on Telemundo Jacksonville (WFOX 30.4). Local news on Noticias Jacksonville will be airing on weeknights at 5:00, 6:00, and 11:00pm. It'll probably be pre-taped since WFOX/WJAX are on during those times. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.actionnewsjax.com/news/local/noticias-jacksonville-spanish-local-news-launching-jacksonville-may/A63OVPKHZFBGFHD6WARRYBPWB4/%3foutputType=amp
  19. Here's a Tampa Bay shocker... Shay Ryan has just left WFTS after 14 years. The post here says 19 years because she did work for five years at WXYZ-TV Detroit in the early 2000s, making it 19 within the Scripps family. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1537158961779839&id=100064572498904
  20. Is the tide starting to turn in New Orleans, in terms of ratings? I know this doesn't tell a full and complete picture, but Jim Syoen posted this on FB. It shows that, at least with Adults 25-54 in March, WDSU is now #1 at 5, 6am, 4, 5 and 6pm. WVUE was #1 in those timeslots (except for 6pm since WVUE does WOF-J! in that hour).
  21. It makes sense. They're the longest-reining duo in the history of WABC-TV at 23 years and counting (as long as Bill continues at 6pm), and as long as Liz wants to do it, and as long as Bill wants to continue to do it, then why not?
  22. Or Morgan and Morgan. Both law firms were created in Orlando, so I'm not surprised. I also saw Dan Newlin ads as well while I was in Tampa Bay (Polk County) on vacation for two weeks and got to study and watch all stations for a bit there (except for WWSB, which I didn't have access to).
  23. And now that she has left, WESH 2 has promoted Lindsey Sablan (formerly from WINK who joined last year) to weeknights. She'll now do 5:00 and 10:00pm (WKCF) with Jesse Pagan while Michelle Imperato now gets the coveted 6:00 and 11:00pm slots alongside Stewart Moore. https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/wesh-orlando-sets-new-evening-latenight-anchor-teams/
  24. Launch time is today at 5:00pm for the 11th CBS O&O to receive the AR/VR treatment. Let's see how WWJ CBS Detroit implements it. https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/cbs-detroit-launches-ar-vr-driven-studio-with-weather-at-5-p-m-today/
  25. Australia After a wonderful 24-year run at the Nine Network, which includes TCN Sydney, Georgie Gardner has left the building for the last time.
