Not flagship WLTV/WAMI though since they're housed with the network.

IMHO: WNBC and WABC's new newsrooms HAVE STEPPED UP THEIR GAME. It makes WCBS, WNYW, WPIX, and WXTV's newsrooms appear inferior by comparison (I'm not sure I've seen the newsrooms of either NY1 or News 12). To me, WNBC and WABC's newsrooms look like the future of television news and where its heading today... adapting to everything, including streaming.

The Pacers won tonight and won the series in six. This means that the last-ever Inside the NBA episode (on TNT proper before its move to ESPN/ABC next season) is airing now.

With that, the last of the NBC/Telemundo building divides (in terms of main operations) has finally closed. NYC was the last market where the NBC (30 Rock) and Telemundo (Fort Lee, N.J.) stations were in separate places.

Big changes at WIFR Rockford: Chief Meteorologist Mark Henderson is out after 22 years. https://www.rockrivercurrent.com/2025/05/mark-henderson-chief-meteorologist-at-wifr-out-after-22-years-in-rockford-tv/ Also, Andy Gannon is retiring August 1st after a 42-year run. Mike Garrigan is moving from evenings to mornings to replace him. https://www.adweek.com/tvspy/andy-gannon-to-retire-from-wifr-in-rockford-after-more-than-42-years/

TEGNA Broadcasting and Digital General Discussion
TheRolyPoly replied to ABC 7 Denver's topic in Corporate Chat
For TEGNA's CBS affiliates that want to do more news at noon but can't because of CBS programming... Put it on streaming! That's what WTSP has recently started to do with a live half-hour newscast at 12:30pm on 10 Tampa Bay+.- 3705 replies

This morning, the Fart Tank came back. If you haven't seen the original, it's still (IMO) the best Morning News bit they've ever done. https://youtu.be/NAesSGtlCqY?si=FnmKO77veXO3QUKv

EDIT: Also adding Jean Jadhon's final newscast at WDBJ 7 after 33 years. Its "retirement" season, y'all.

Scott Padgett also had his final day today at KTVT/KTXA after nearly a dozen years there before he makes his way to WCBS/WLNY.

Day 1 of the then-new WTHR Channel 13 Eyewitness News. New set (developed by Devlin Design Group), new music, new graphics, new name (the second stint), new logo, new everything. The first 90 minutes of WTHR's then-new era are here from Monday, May 8th, 1995:

Here's a retirement that I didn't know about: Todd and Jacqueline Karli have retired from WBOC-TV after nearly a decade there. They retired at the end of the 4pm newscast. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1158030996359732&id=100064585278189

After 10 years at Scripps' flagship, Craig McKee will be leaving next month to head off to KNXV Phoenix. https://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/wcpo-9-anchor-craig-mckee-leaving-after-10-years

Good 'ol WPLG from 1999. This was back when WPLG was in Miami-Dade, when Eyewitness News was still its name, and when The One and Only (music package) was only five years old. https://youtu.be/98yqxcDQ-kk?si=m5kay_cuqjvOnuik

Reminders of final day today for local news anchors: • WRGB's Liz Bishop after an amazing 52-year run. The special half-hour at 6pm will be her last. • NBC's Lester Holt (already mentioned in another thread). • KCTV's Carolyn Long after 28 years. • WDBJ's Jean Jadhon after 33 years. EDIT: Adding a meteorologist: • WTLV/WJXX's Tim Deegan after 43 years. I can't think of more but get those recorders ready for historical preservation on YouTube.

I saw this on X. If this is any indication, we could be on a verge of a HUGE major rebrand for RTVE Spain, the first major change to happen since 2008. Stay tuned...

You read that right. KWQC commissioned it (thanks to Cyle Dickens' help nonetheless) and will debut on June 10th.

FOX Weather has brought back Night Light but in a whole new way. Its in a new 24/7 weather stream on YouTube called FOX Weather Chill.

WBRC now has SEVEN meteorologists!
TheRolyPoly replied to tyrannical bastard's topic in The Weather Lab
Wait a minute, Tim Simpson is back from retirement?! I didn't know he joined WHNS. It'll be a part-time gig for the summer while Chrissy and Katherine have their babies. https://www.facebook.com/timsimpsonmedia/videos/1098161888795870 -
The news keeps getting worse... KTHV's former Chief Meteorologist Ed Buckner has passed away. He was only 59. Only 59, waaaay too young. But his pain is over, he no longer has to suffer. RIP to one of Arkansas' greats.

It looks like changes are on the horizon at WBBH/WZVN, especially the latter's morning show as Greg Parker will be leaving this Friday. Not just from the TV station, but from the TV business as a whole. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1078025384139696&id=100057967334737

Belize Channel 5 in Belize has rebranded and evolved and instead of Great Belize Television, it's now Greater Belize Media. Channel 5 is still the flagship property though. https://greaterbelize.com/channel-5-evolves-into-greater-belize-media/

Ed Weinstock is retiring from WGAL after nearly 40 years there and after nearly 50 years in the business. However, he's not waiting 3, 4, 5 or even 6 months to retire. Instead... he'll do so on Friday. https://www.wgal.com/article/news-8-reporter-ed-weinstock-announces-retirement/64884648

This one hurts. This one really hurts. There won't be another like him again.

Wow. Spent 30 years at KRIV, the first face of the Satellite News Channel, now gone. One of the great Cuban journalists of our time, now gone.

I just checked, and last Sunday and yesterday, it was Toni Yates. They should give her the weekend morning gig. She's been their fill-in a lot and seems worthy of doing so permanently. Plus, it wouldn't be her first permanent anchoring gig of her career (she's done WPHL when it was WB 17).
