  1. Here's the announcement from this morning. Alyana will probably stick to 4:30-7am as Tam replaces her. Matt and Tam are probably the longest-reigning morning duo in the Valley at nearly 20 years together. https://6abc.com/post/tamala-edwards-says-goodbye-action-news-mornings-shes-not-going-far/16730863/
  2. Update WPSD has started broadcasting, as of this week, from their new location at The Paducah Sun building. However, their new set is not quite ready yet. Therefore, they're in a temporary setting in a corner of the new studio that'll debut after the 4th of July. https://www.wpsdlocal6.com/news/wpsd-temporary-set-to-be-upgraded-in-july/article_073d349a-b6f6-416e-a0cb-4b04181d6603.html
  3. Gray's Gulf Coast Sports and Entertainment Network + TEGNA's Locked On Sports Podcast Network = Starting Monday, June 16th, four of the Locked On Sports podcasts will be seen from 10:00 am-12:00 pm CT on GCSEN. They are Locked On Saints, Locked On Pelicans, Locked On LSU, and Locked On SEC. https://podnews.net/press-release/gulf-coast-locked-on
  4. Ah, got ya, okay. Thank you @Weeters! Yes, that set probably had some years left, but if they wanted to be in the AR/VR space, then something had to give.
  5. Can someone remind me what the old studio looked like? I know he didn't say the current KCBS/KCAL set, which is also in use at KCNC and WBBM, correct?
  6. The WGN Morning News team are full of professionals, right? Yes, but also no. At least Dan tried to be when it comes to sports... but failed miserably on Tuesday. So yesterday, he got "fired" from the segment and they found a replacement...
  7. Hear me out. KVVU no longer has one sports-related channel... now they have TWO. One is the Silver State Sports and Entertainment Network, but now they've recently launched 5DRVtv (5 Drive TV). Outside of Local News LIVE from 4-6 am, 11 am-12 pm, and 4-5 pm (7-9 am, 2-3 pm, and 7-8 pm ET; which seem to be the main newscast timeslots for that streaming network), the schedule is devoted to all things cars and motorsports with programs such as Moto America, Race Central TV, Music City Trucks, Detroit Muscle, PowerNation Builds, etc. Some of these programs are also seen on SSSEN, but that's more aimed towards general sports, whereas 5DRVtv (KVVU-DT 5.4 by the way, which replaced Dabl) is focused on cars and motorsports. This may be the first such local digital subchannel I've heard of. EDIT: Another thing... Despite Gray not having a Telemundo presence in Las Vegas (because you have O&O KBLR Channel 39), KVVU went ahead and launched Spanish-language news and weather content anyway with Vegas Hoy. https://www.vegashoy.tv/
  8. Is it me or is that studio super small?
  9. Update We now know what it will be... 10 News+. It will air at 6pm every Sunday-Friday and will begin on June 30th. https://www.facebook.com/10NewsFirst/posts/pfbid0yxkG8er3aVTpLtcCcjRYKieenvJ65XsYMpCuyv64hKLdF1qTe13oTjZQd5E9veVTl
  10. Update Abilene Christian University (ACU) has allowed KTXS to utilize its facilities to help set up a temporary newsroom on campus. https://ktxs.com/news/abilene/abilene-christian-university-opens-doors-to-ktxs-after-severe-storm-damages-station
  11. The news broke during their 10pm newscast, so nothing was planned (but there will be tomorrow). This one hurts badly. The weather community will mourn greatly. He, Tom Skilling, and James Spann have changed the game forever, and Gary will be missed for generations to come.
  12. Australia ABC's Q+A is on Winter Recess. Today, we've learned its not coming back. The show has been axed after 18 years due to budget cuts at the ABC. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-06-11/abc-panel-show-q-a-discontinued-after-18-years-on-air/105400400 Separately, it will enhance its Your Say initiative and expand the production of news documentaries. https://www.abc.net.au/about/media-centre/press-releases/abc-announces-plan-to-discontinue-q-a-boosts-news-documentaries-/105402622
  13. That still looks like the old animation to me so I'm still confused.
  14. Here's a chilling picture... wow. Just..... woooow. Found via Facebook.
  15. Can you explain? I don't understand what you're trying to point out.
  16. I just realized that half of the 12 hours its airs news on weekdays is on Boston (6:30 and 7:30pm repeats of the 6 and 7pm news are on there too) with the other half on New England. So much for New England news when you don't even focus on the region half the time on weekdays. Either become Boston Cable News or just shut it down entirely. IMO, I'm on the latter. NBC damaged the channel too much for it to be saved. I wouldn't want Boston news if I lived in Pittsfield, Mass. or New Haven or even in Presque Isle, yet, NBC doesn't care. I've been very very fortunate to have watched NECN from the late 90s to the mid 2010s. IMHO, the golden era of the network was the 2000s. As I've said, Hearst was better at managing this channel than NBC ever has. Also, going into speculation territory here but, I think Hearst should reacquire 50% of the channel and hope that NBC will divest its other 50% to Gray since they own stations in 5 out of the 9 DMA's (only conflict would be Burlington but that's a minor thing). I know that will never happen but imagine if it did.
  17. WBZ has dropped its weeknight 9pm news on WSBK in favor of a new partnership between WBZ and NESN where it now airs a sports show from NESN after the 8pm news. https://tvnewscheck.com/programming/article/wbz-boston-new-england-sports-network-partner-for-red-sox-and-bruins-coverage/
  18. Boy is Nexstar reversing so much from the past two years. It sounds like a pause back in 2023 to figure out their streaming strategy before resuming within the past couple of months. Still a long way to go, yes. Still waiting for the KTVX/KUCW version on Roku.
  19. It needs to end and that's from someone who has LOVED and ADORED NECN. It hasn't been the same since their Hearst days when the channel was much more managed and ACTUALLY focused on New England stories compared to just Boston. Today, NECN only airs news on weekdays. Weekends is mainly focused on lifestyle programs, outside of weekend mornings and even then, hours were crap. The last regional newscasts are 7-10, 11-11:30am, 12-2 and 3-4pm. WBTS' news are airing from 5-7am, 2-3, 4-6:30, and 7-7:30pm. So much for New England news... New England is a VERY UNIQUE region and it did deserve its own regional cable news channel. It sucks that NBC ruined it and I hope that NBC doesn't get into the 24-hour local news game ever again (and I'm not talking about streaming).
  20. Local morning news is back in Mankato on KEYC. KTTC's morning news will remain on KMNF. https://www.keyc.com/2025/06/09/morning-news-weather-are-back-with-kato-mornings/?fbclid=IwY2xjawK0BNlleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHlsKA4yB_bdKgRKXZBPcIStYAORFbjVfP_AtTjNwJTe6enjc9U0s8uNmFVak_aem_5FiTVCpVT86As_ASkdqSYA
  21. Australia After a 16-year run, Network Ten's The Project will no longer be a Project come June 27th. Instead, we'll have a different kind of hour-long news, current affairs, and analysis program that'll air at 6pm after Ten's local hour-long news at 5pm. https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2025/jun/09/channel-ten-cancels-the-project-ntwnfb
  22. Another met. bites the dust at WBBH/WZVN as weekend met. Jesslyn Ferentz is leaving the station and the business altogether. June 22nd is her final day. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1140417734557682&id=100057683995985
  23. We have another Gray-owned regional sports network coming. This time... focused on Minnesota (this was posted on KEYC's Facebook page).
  24. Is this the NBC font they're using? NBC Futura?
  25. Part of ESPN's operations in New York are moving to WABC-TV/ABC News' headquarters at 7 Hudson Square. https://espnpressroom.com/us/press-releases/2025/06/espns-get-up-first-take-unsportsmanlike-moving-to-new-home-at-7-hudson-square-in-new-york-city/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=espns-get-up-first-take-unsportsmanlike-moving-to-new-home-at-7-hudson-square-in-new-york-city&utm_source=ESPN+Front+Row&utm_campaign=04ef203bf5-MediaZone_Daily_RSSFed_Digest&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_d3cee178e6-04ef203bf5-138324565
