  1. Wow. She is one of the few anchors I've watched while getting WPTV in Northern Broward County in 2005 (alongside WPEC, WFLX, and WXEL), thanks to a robust analog signal at my grandma's (at the time) trailer park. Shannon Cake is hanging it up after nearly 30 years at WPTV, and this Friday is her last day there. Some of the last of the old guard are slowly leaving this heritage station, and I'm sad to see her go. https://www.wptv.com/about-us/wptv-anchor-shannon-cake-a-look-back-at-her-29-year-career-at-the-news-station
  2. My NBC O&O, WTVJ Miami, now airs four and a half straight hours of news every weekday after moving NBC News Daily from 1 to 3pm. Other changes include moving Kelly Clarkson to 11am, Access Daily to 1pm, and shortening their noon news to 30 minutes to once again air South Florida Live as a full half-hour program. https://www.instagram.com/p/DJkHRpWvd7A/?igsh=Ym8yMDU5N3NhdXlx
  3. Technically, 75 years was back on December 31st, 2024, but its a recent celebration for Tulsa's KRMG Radio as the Cox-owned outlet celebrates 75 years on the radio. https://www.krmg.com/fp/celebrating-75-years-krmg-tulsa-radio/

  6. Woah. Scripps continues to go to the gutter. WEWS' longtime Chief has been fired. After 22 years, Mark Johnson is OUT. https://www.news5cleveland.com/about-us/mark-johnson-no-longer-at-news-5-cleveland#:~:text=Meteorologist Mark Johnson is no,to the highest ethical standards
  7. This is not a local TV passing, I get that. But this shows how poignant and amazing and genuine this program is. Unfortunately, Inside the NBA had to mourn the loss of one of its stagehands, Kevin Thomas, who was with the program for 30 years and was featured on the show in a number of skits. He was 70. This was genuine to watch and it was saddening and emotional to see this.
  8. Not necessarily. Graphics say First Alert but the weather intros (and even in some weather graphics) and in the set still say Your Weather Authority. WVUE can't decide on which brand to go 100% on.

  23. If that's true, that's bleak.
  24. Yesterday was Chelsea Aaron's last day at WAFF 48 after a 3 year ride. She's staying in Huntsville so it sounds like she's leaving the business more than anything else.
  25. Sounds like Gray is in that category as well if Nexstar and Sinclair are worse.
