  1. I have another sports deal for ya. This time, FanDuel and Gray are giving you 10 games of... the Cincinnati Reds. WXIX and RESN are the main channels for it, but Charleston-Huntington (WSAZ/WQCW), Lexington (WKYT/WKYT.2), Louisville (WAVE), and Nashville (WSMV/TNV-SEN) also plan to air the package, with additional markets to be added soon. https://tvnewscheck.com/programming/article/fanduel-sports-network-cincinnati-reds-partner-with-wxix-rock-entertainment-sports-network-gray-media/
  2. Update: I did a quick check and all I saw were 33 stations airing it, not 37. Yes, WIS and WLUC 6.2 are among them but according to checks of schedules, I found stations in Wichita, Cincinnati, Knoxville, Kansas City, Lubbock, Cape Girardeau, Rochester (Minn.), Fort Wayne, Lexington, St. Louis, Las Vegas, and Reno, among others, who are also airing Gray's afternoon newscast. Actually, in one such instance, WITN, thanks to this new addition, now airs SEVEN STRAIGHT HOURS of local and national news every weekday (12:00-7:00pm).
  3. More local sports deals: WTTV/WTTV.2/WXIN and the Triple-A team Indy Indians. https://tvnewscheck.com/programming/article/aaa-indians-partner-with-nexstar-in-indianapolis/
  4. Canada Guess who's also coming back? Kevin Frankish! Except, not on BT. Instead... on 640 CFIQ for Toronto Today. https://torontosun.com/news/local-news/kevin-frankish-aims-to-give-bt-some-competition-with-new-morning-gig-on-torontos-am-640
  5. You don't see much news these days regarding ratings at TV markets. Well we still know of one such winner as of February 2025... Jacksonville's WJXT, The One and Only Channel 4. Winner of every newscast in A25-54 except for 12 Noon and 11pm. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/susie-losco-65054625_n4j-february-win-ugcPost-7303551617398628353-7QN-?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android&rcm=ACoAABqGw-0BrOQ_9csrv95OAtvM37gqLkE_dSc
  6. Victoria Kokinos has joined WYFF Greenville after spending the last six years at sister WJCL Savannah. She'll be doing traffic (in the morning) and weather (at 12 Noon), just like what she did at WJCL. https://www.wyff4.com/article/victoria-kokinos-joins-wyff-news-4-today/64218624?utm_campaign=snd-autopilot&fbclid=IwY2xjawJGmclleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHRG3EHJctZZ4qp5t5G628BifdAQWE2nhrXLgjmRGWCJboLDPzUCfcDLlhw_aem_i-pu4eAwGVKzHNbOhmc16A
  7. Canada Because Citytv is making a brand new move, Breakfast Television is also making a brand new everything. A new studio, new music?, a somewhat new look, and new presenters: Tim Bolen and a return to Dina Pugliese after a two year hiatus.
  8. Chief Meteorologist Ben Pine is saying goodbye this week after a 17 year run at WHAS 11. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1307015207460585&id=100044563533885
  9. 37 stations are joining WIS Columbia in airing Gray's Local News LIVE in their afternoon lineups. One such example? WLUC 6.2. https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2025/03/17/3043985/0/en/Gray-Stations-Add-Local-News-Live-to-Daily-Programming-Lineup.html https://www.uppermichiganssource.com/2025/03/17/fox-up-add-local-news-live-daily-programming-lineup/
  10. Larry Mendte is back in the limelight to do a morning show on 710 WOR Radio. The news was announced early last week. https://news.radio-online.com/cgi-bin/rol.exe/headline_id=c42466
  11. Local sports is coming to FOX O&Os. First, it was the Liberty with WNYW and WWOR. Next, 10 Brewers games on WITI. Now, its the Dallas Stars on KDFW and KDFI with two games on each channel. https://www.fox4news.com/news/dallas-stars-games-fox-4-more27-schedule
  12. The article mentions WRTV. According to one email I read from FTVLive's Patreon... there could be a hint as to what could happen there. I won't say more as I took it with a grain of salt, but still...
  13. I wasn't fooled and here's proof. Here's TWC's Ray Stagich for WTHI. The Allen TWC plan is in effect.
  14. After 33 years at KLFY-TV 10, Darla Montgomery will anchor her last newscast in half an hour from now as she enters a now common phrase so far this year called... retirement. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=977239417851179&id=100066953900346
  15. All non-national Las Vegas Aces games are moving from KVVU (mainly 5.2) to KMCC. https://tvnewscheck.com/programming/article/scripps-sports-to-broadcast-regular-season-wnba-las-vegas-aces-games-on-vegas-34/?utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=Scripps+Sports+To+Broadcast+Regular+Season+WNBA+Las+Vegas+Aces+Games+On+Vegas+34&utm_campaign=FCC’s+Gomez%3a+Trump+Administration+Is+Waging+'Aggressive+Campaign'+To+'Bring+Broadcasters...To+Heel'
  16. So who will be the American rights holder broadcaster for the 2034 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah? Well, NBC, of course. Except today, the network made it official by picking up two more rights to the Olympic Games: the 2034 Winter Olympics SLC and the 2036 Summer Olympics in a city TBD. It was supposed to expire in 2032. A $3B investment in which NBC is now a "strategic partner" with the IOC, instead of just being a regular rights holder broadcaster for the Olympics. With this extension, NBC will be on 48 years of covering the Olympics when its all suddenly done (since the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul; Winter since 2002 in, ironically enough, Salt Lake City). https://deadline.com/2025/03/comcast-nbcuniversal-extends-olympics-rights-deal-2036-1236325411/#recipient_hashed=2ec9ce834f7dfcbd8366c088aae71c4495ea058de393aaa911e79a0a64eaa988&recipient_salt=1647efd76c5fdce2b562fb95bdf916387b7d2ea6936a1d5940c4336463521675&utm_medium=email&utm_source=exacttarget&utm_campaign=Deadline_BreakingNews&utm_content=593413_03-13-2025&utm_term=3234612
  17. WEAU's Judy Clark is a local broadcast legend. Its true for someone who's celebrating 35 years at WEAU this year. Not only that, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association (WBA) has noticed that too. https://www.weau.com/2025/03/13/judy-clark-be-honored-2024-local-broadcast-legend/
  18. I'm hoping someone records tonight's 10 p.m. newscast at WOWT as it will be John Knicely's last newscast. Today is retirement day for the man who spent 50 years in broadcasting, 47 of that at WOWT in two separate stints. https://www.wowt.com/2025/03/12/knicely-done-wowt-bids-farewell-longtime-anchor-john-knicely/?fbclid=IwY2xjawI-b75leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHdtixFgnQK0rghGPkIsPhOiUTsGtaMuE8RdKVCdv1beQTNZ4ZY6EYHSkyw_aem_Fdr0lEmJjRQGsNgA8uaM3A
  19. Its been nearly 25 years, but KHQ is finally getting some new digs at their studios on West Sprague Avenue. Dan Kleckner and Stephanie Vigil were there when the then-new studio (and new building) was unveiled in 2001, and they've used it ever since... until Monday. https://www.khq.com/news/nonstop-local-studio-to-undergo-major-makeover/article_38b5598a-fddf-11ef-b2e2-973c2ed914e3.html
  20. 44 years in the business, the last 15 years at WPTV, and at WTVJ for a good chunk before that... Michael Williams is finally hanging it up and retiring on Friday. One of the true great anchors and guys in all of broadcasting. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1206938464130401&id=100044427759775 CORRECTION: I said a dozen years at WPTV, but actually joined in 2010 so 15 years.
  21. So they're finally selling some stations huh? Why couldn't they do this earlier? Regardless, this is something Scripps should be doing too considering their financial situation. EDIT: I wonder what will happen to the news on WRSP/WCCU if they won't sell those stations.
  22. This is off-topic, but wow. Such a beautiful home, all destroyed. Ugh. I feel for the folks who lived there.
  23. I think the radio side of this forum needs an Out and About section of its own, so I'm starting it now. Starting Monday, March 24th, KMOX will gain a full-time signal on the FM dial at 104.1 WHHL, where they laid off the entire staff last week. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/296285/kmox-makes-addition-of-104-1-simulcast-official/ Also, the popular Los 40 brand is well known in Latin America but most popular in Spain, the original country where the brand was created. Its finally expanding to the U.S. While it has been in the states since last year (mainly as a digital platform), only now has the radio side expanded via distribution from Hispanic Radio Network. https://los40.us/ https://radioinsight.com/headlines/296301/hispanic-radio-network-launches-pair-of-24-7-networks/
  24. And captured live on television...
  25. WKMG finally found a way to compete against WKCF (via WESH), WRDQ (via WFTV), and WOFL at 7am... streaming via News 6+. Today was the first day. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/erik-sandoval-8980197_what-a-great-team-this-morning-we-launched-activity-7304829537811349505-5f4S?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android&rcm=ACoAABqGw-0BrOQ_9csrv95OAtvM37gqLkE_dSc
