1. I told you I was gonna post another story to relay from FTVLive and here it is. It's about a station that you've probably heard of in the Coachella Valley before.
2. Another smart reader of my blog. My twitter for the blog, @ChangeNewsBlog, reached 100 followers today. I know its not much, but its something. Btw, I have another story to relay from FTVLive today and I'll post it here once I'm done.
3. I wasn't trying to be mean. It's just that with the J!-WOF hour at 7:00pm, it makes WABC impossible to have a 7:00pm newscast of its own. And I don't know if Laff or LWN will allow WABC to air additional local newscasts on their digital subchannels.
4. This is why the WGN Morning News is GOLD.
5. Just one problem... The J!-WOF hour. That's all.
6. Wow. Had no idea. But in all fairness, I did say that I may be wrong and I admit that I was. I guess the affiliation switch at the time affected many FOX O&Os that became FOX, including WAGA.
7. That is a huge problem. But imagine if The 700 Club was gone in favor of more morning news at 9:00am, Atlanta Plugged-In was gone for an expansion of the noon news, Informercials would be gone for maybe The Insider at 1:00 and finally, Inside Edition moving to 7:30 after CBS 46 News at 7:00 (if they do decided to go there because after all, 11Alive no longer does it). But another problem that I see is that because WGNX joined CBS at a time when WGNX's news department was very small and barely got enough traction, it caused a ratings freefall because then, more and more people were only sticking to WAGA when it became FOX because of continued news in several timeslots. Yes, more watched WSB but more and more switched to WAGA when the switch happened. In summary... WGNX joined CBS when their news department and ratings were too small. And even if CBS is America's Most-Watched Network, it still hasn't helped WGCL to this day at all. That's my theory but I may be wrong.
8. It doesn't matter if 11Alive goes #4 or CBS 46 goes #3, the top 2 will always be WSB at #1 and WAGA at #2. They are just too good for 11Alive or CBS 46 to even pass them.
9. WXII, KETV, WCVB, WLWT, WLKY, WBAL, WMUR, WPTZ and WGAL are the ones that broadcasts local news on their MeTV subchannels. WTAE broadcasts their 7:00pm weeknight newscast on their This TV subchannel. Btw, what a surprise for KCCI to do this on Me-TV and not on their MyTV subchannel which is also home to H&I.
10. She could be. After all, Kristen did leave KUSI where according to Cision... "to manage communications for the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discover Institute." In other words, Kristen loves San Diego and was considered as a star at KUSI while there. And if Brandi does take over, then good for her.
11. *SPOILER ALERT* There's no need for a conference because this woman has figured it out: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=823214757807996
12. I've been dying to find more clips related to the WKYT News Theme, especially the open and closing themes. WKYT and WCTV/WSWG used it and I still consider it as one of my ultimate favorite news music packages. I'm so happy that NewsActive3 uploaded this and it comes from WCTV in 2007:
13. I know this sounds like a post for Speculatron 9000, but if the Raycom/Bahakel merger happened, WFXB would be merged with WMBF, WBBJ would be all alone, WBTV is with WCCB, WOLO joins WIS (in which one of them would have to be sold off) and WAKA/WNCF/WBMM would join WSFA (in which for sure, somebody would have to be sold).
14. I think it has and I love that page. I've been watching a lot of their videos and as someone who likes some things old-fashioned, I really like this! :-)
15. ABC 33/40 is carried on WGWW 40.2, but not sure as to why it was identified as WJSU or WCFT or as to why WCFT, now WSES, was in there.
16. 2014 was the year when WYTV discontinued their 5:30pm newscast and moved it to WKBN and is currently home to the area's ONLY hour-long 5:00pm newscast.
17. All three still do news at 5:00am. And if not at 4pm, then maybe at 6:30pm on FOX Youngstown?
18. I found the debut of LCI: La Chaine Info, the first 24/7 news channel in France, from June 24th, 1994 As well as the debut of the second 24/7 news channel in France... i-Tele, back on November 4th, 1999 And finally, the debut of, currently, France's leading 24/7 news channel... BFM-TV from November 28th, 2005
19. In other words, who cares? Never seen the show and won't care if it goes away.
20. I think its just weekday mornings (4:30-7:00am from WJTV 12) and Sundays-Fridays at 10:00pm for WHLT 22 (weeknights as local and Sundays from WJTV 12 + Sports Zone).
21. This tweet will say it all...
22. Oh wow. What a great anchor he was to San Antonio and I bet he would've been a great person to know, personally. RIP Fred. You made San Antonio TV news, a whole lot better for what you've done. Bravo.
23. WNYW at 10:00pm for a time in the 80s with Cora-Ann Mihalik (who left WNYW in 2011).
24. To me... that bug on the bottom right with a radar loop is pretty clever. I like that.
