  1. I don't think its a Spanish indie. I think its affiliated with Azteca America. Unrelated to that... KRGV 5.2 has been refreshed and rebranded as a local English/Spanish independent station known as "Somos El Valle." I bring this up because it now airs all newscasts from 5.1 as simulcasts, airs another two hours of live morning news from 7:00-9:00 a.m., airs a new one-hour nightly Spanish-language newscast at 9:00 and the weeknight newscast at 10:30 p.m. is now exclusively on 5.2 http://www.krgv.com/story/37141987/somos-el-valle-programming
  2. I mentioned it in the shoutbox when I watched WFOR one time and was surprised to see Diane Magnum on-air. Summary: Jen didn't want it because she didn't want to do TV permanently again. Vanessa got into a feud with WFOR because of a vacation in L.A. and went to tour KCBS-KCAL while at it to possibly find a job there, which made WFOR management mad, which is why she left. So glad to see Diane again!
  3. One of the best in Alabama, ruling mornings and middays for a long time. RIP.
  4. It would've been better if it was called "Maine's NewsCenter."
  5. Wow. I had no idea that existed. Would that be claimed to be the smallest FOX station to have its own news department?
  6. WOHL had its own news department at one point?
  7. Truly a sad day.
  8. Sorry to double post but... For over three decades, the sharpest minds, best sources, hardest talk. If you know what I'm talking about, its set to return in the new year: http://thehill.com/homenews/media/366191-mclaughlin-group-to-return-in-2018
  9. Well... its now Milwaukee PBS and I agree, they should.
  10. Only two public television stations that I can think of offer 24-hour weather coverage. KTCA is one of them and since September, they've rebranded their 24-hour weather channel as "TPT NOW" and if you ask me... the new look is really good. (screengrab from tpt.org)
  11. KXTV wasn't owned by Belo.
  12. Oh great. WXII in the Piedmont Triad, WXII in Northern Michigan. How fun. What did northern Michigan's WXII call sign mean?
  13. Lori is still there. There until the end.
  14. I know this is not news and not a big thing, but here you go... the Gray-ification look to WCAX and its new logo.
  15. I loved that weekend team. Jackie, Bob, Jim, Rich. THE weekend team to watch in Chicago.
  16. My point exactly that WGCL should just blow up its evening team and start over. I feel like both Reed and Swann aren't liked well in the newsroom.
  17. I enjoyed KTVI's 2 News Team since its the 2 News Team package and I wonder how Lisa (LaFlamme) would react to the CKCO video now that she's a part of the CTV National News. I also enjoyed the L.A. news clips as well, especially the KCBS ones since those are still rare in my book.
  18. Wait, really?! I was in Bradenton last week and it not only had the FOX O&O theme but also the Impact chimes. I was so happy to hear them! I even mentioned it in the Chatroom while I was in Bradenton last week.
  19. Have you heard of TicToc? No? Well its not the Tic Tac Toe game, but in fact, TicToc is the new Bloomberg global news network that'll be streamed only on Twitter. It begins next Monday, a week before Christmas. https://twitter.com/TicToc
  20. If you can see the "T" sign on the left, then you pretty much just answered your own question.
  21. I saw both Maria and Mark (Suppelsa)'s farewells yesterday. Both amazing.
  22. Another dumb move by Verizon after dumping The Weather Channel.
  23. Ay jeez... as soon as we think WGCL is doing well now due to WXIA's misfortunes, they might as well just blow up their entire evening team (not Tracye though) and start over.
  24. Oh fuck. By the way, its not just local media, but public media too. WNYC has suspended Leonard Lopate and Jonathan Schwartz after pending accusations of inappropriate conduct. http://www.wnyc.org/story/lopate-schwartz-suspended-wnyc/
