Is it me or does KQDS create awful opens for its newscasts? Its so plain and so boring. Also, is Diane Alexander still there? I thought she left for a producer job at WCCO-TV 4 in the Twin Cities.

Not to mention the fact that WABC 7 used to do a full hour of "Eyewitness News at 6:00" with Roger Grimsby and Bill Beutel back in the 70s and 80s.

However, KBMT and KCEN have that TEGNA-stylized layout at the very top of their websites where it mentions "A Tegna Company." But that's the only thing I've seen so far that these stations have taken away from TEGNA. The rest still comes from the London Broadcasting era.

That's what seems like TEGNA is starting to do. There will be more eventually.

Both of the networks' longest newscast (on both days) is their midday newscast. They are on from 12:30-3:00pm weekdays and 12:30-2:00pm weekends. In RCN's case, they deliver the morning news before switching to a lifestyle breakfast morning program and then back. Caracol airs Dia a Dia at 5:30am before switching over to Noticias Caracol at 5:45am after which, they switch again to Dia a Dia at 8:30am. IMO, I like Noticias Caracol better, but both networks are just really good.

KYOU News debuted in November of 2015 as a 10-minute news update at 9:00 p.m., not a full half-hour as I though it would debut as. But now after a month of being on-the-air, the program is now officially a full half-hour as of December 7th and with it, is now renamed from KYOU News Update to KYOU News at 9:00. Idk about you guys, but I also love to keep an eye on the presentation in Colombia. I know that the two main networks are RCN and Caracol and when it comes to network news, they are pretty much on at identical times and I believe that both are on twice on weekends at 12:30 and 7:00pm. Anyways, here's what Noticias Caracol's early morning edition (starting at 5:45am after their lifestlyle breakfast pre-show) looks like with graphics that were launched a year or two ago, plus you get a nice clean theme to listen to in the end of this clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6owTKpaBtYE

I think this is how it should be done: Tasmen and John at 5:00 and 5:30pm Kaity and Brenda at 6:00 and 6:30pm Kaity and John at 10:00pm with Scott Stanford and the SportsDesk at 10:45pm.

Its sure hell of a lot better than KMID's old logo and look. Plus, they are now in HD. KMID doesn't look like the station that it used to be a week ago.

And a WHBF clone and a WVLA clone... basically a Nexstar clone. That could also mean newscasts for it sister station KPEJ 24, since there is none on that station. And KMID finally drops its longtime BIG 2 moniker.

I mentioned this in Out and About that my new friend, Nick Russo who used to work there, said that they would move into a brand new building with a new set and look. Therefore, they did. It actually looks really good! Nexstar really knocked it out of the ballpark with this one! Well done Nexstar! First WMBD and now KMID.

Now that KGW and WHAS are fully O&O by Tegna now, the websites have been updated to reflect the tagline "A Tegna Company."

Or Cato can anchor on WTVT at 5:00pm with Linda Hurtado and at 11:00pm with Cynthia Smoot. Or he can be on at Noon and 5:00pm with Linda and have Cynthia solo anchor at 11:00pm.

After Brendan leaves, only Chief Meteorologist Dennis Phillips will be the only original member left at WFTS 28.
