  1. Looking at that makes me wanna throw up. I don't even know how Nexstar will pay to operate all of them on a daily basis, not to mention vacations and benefits will be cut. I'm so glad my home market (Miami) nor Orlando are involved in this.
  2. Oh well. CBS should've gone to WUPA 69 if this deal didn't happen. They should've gone the Tribune route... renew all except WGCL and convert it to CW so that WUPA could've been CBS. But whatever, it's okay. CBS is suffering in Atlanta for a few more years I guess.
  3. I loved her when she was on RTM.
  4. According to this video, it's still produced at KETK. They were supposed to start its in-house news department last year but delayed it to this year and so far, nothing yet.
  5. Everyone's talking about Nexstar/MG and the divestures. But I didn't forget about the stations sent to Graham and at least I know that WSLS and WCWJ are now under Graham control. WSLS is alone and WCWJ now joins the 1,000,000-ton gorilla WJXT as its sister home.
  6. Do you mean q2.com ? I'd bet it be better under k2.com or k2stjoe.com
  7. Or... ConnectingMississippi.com
  8. In my home market... WPLG 10 will become the first station in the nation to have an international news bureau when it launches its newest news bureau from Havana, tomorrow night at 6:00pm. Reporter Haztel Vela and Photog Brian Ely have already moved to the communist country and will be stationed at the new news bureau. Even though it will be very expensive to have a bureau like this, the way WPLG 10 and other stations in the market have been covering Cuba recently, its not surprising that WPLG 10 is doing this. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/miami-station-to-launch-nations-first-cuba-bureau/184151
  9. WBFF is their flagship since Sinclair was started in Baltimore in 1971. Even if picking up WJLA, WBFF still gets flagship status.
  10. I thought KRQE was second behind KOAT and WFLA was second behind WTVT. And yes, WOOD is in first. Been first for a long time now.
  11. So what your saying is... if those stations continue to burn to the ground, WALA 10 will be the overall news leader?
  12. Well they did and let Karen Campbell and a photog go.
  13. I don't know if this was ever talked about here but thank god for LinkedIn for this information... Victoria Hansen has left WCIV-36.2 (Channel 4) in Charleston after 10 years and 11 months. This was her second stint at the station as she first had one from 1991-1996 as weekend anchor/reporter. And for those who like to watch WKRN videos on YT, she was also there from '96-'05 before going back to WCIV in '06. Hansen is now a Senior Proposal Writer for Scientific Research Corporation in Charleson, SC so she's still in the area.
  14. Don't forget that WTKR's 7pm is on WGNT and WAVY also has a 7pm but on WVBT.
  15. Maureen McGuire is still at WROC, has been since 1997 and she's recognizable in the market so that helps, if anything.
  16. What about WBRC? He used to work there too.
  17. Would Raita and Mays ever head back to WBRC or at least possibly join WVTM or the last-place WIAT? Oh wait... I hope they don't join WIAT since they're Nexstar now. WBRC or WVTM for them.
  18. Sinclair and that word is such a disgrace. Period. Julian Sinclair Smith must be flipping the bird a million times on this.
  19. Oh yes... Cordillera, Hubbard, Morgan Murphy are good ones. SJL? No. NBC and ABC O&O's? Yes.
  20. Hearst Cox Sunbeam Graham Dispatch Heartland Quincy Tribune (less so than Nexstar, Sinclair or TEGNA) Meredith Gray? Those are companies that I think of that really do keep their people and doesn't make much cuts or bloodshed.
  21. And I congratulate those who won't be a part of Nexstar... WTHI, KWQC, WFFT, WLFI, WBAY, WSLS and KADN/KLAF-LD.
  22. Meredith/Media General would've been better, but man... Nexstar, just like Sinclair and TEGNA, is killing broadcasting as we know it.
  23. Yep... WPEC is third. WPBF has long taken over for second place with WPTV still reigning as king.
  24. A new year and a new (and shorter) open for TVA Nouvelles: Recorded from CFTM-DT, TVA's flagship station in Montreal. "Direct" and some fonts are changed as well as open, of course, but the rest is still the same.
  25. Which means what happens to WJCL veteran Jeff Kirk?
