  1. As we should all know by now, that station was sold to CBS in 1994 and became WWJ-TV to match AM sister station Newsradio 950 WWJ.
  2. Don't tell that to KTVB 7. They don't have the NBC peacock anywhere in their logos.
  3. KCRA 3 did their noon news from a mall in Downtown Sacramento. WXYZ 7 is scheduled to do the news at noon from a future Downtown Detroit hotspot. It's kinda common out there that the noon news is sometimes done from a different location, other than the main studio.
  4. Sounds like something that WCPX 6 (now WKMG) used to do in the 90s. "Channel 6 News... Where will we take you tonight?"
  5. It's similar for their 6:00 p.m. open/newscast.
  6. Wait, you mean America Teve in Miami? If so, then I gotta check it out myself.
  7. the second Spanish local newscast at 7:00 a.m. after Noticias 23 al Amanecer en UniMas Miami (WAMI 69). Unfortunately, this new newscast is also an hour-long and its called "Arriba America," obvious with its name-sake.
  8. I love Vanessa. She is one of the best morning anchors in Orlando.
  9. They probably would if they see that Dr. Phil is doing terrible in the ratings. But remember, WKYC 3 has LIVE on Lakeside at Noon that's only half-hour. They have no "pay for play" program, unlike Atlanta and Company on WXIA. They have Rachael Ray at 11:00 a.m., LIVE on Lakside at Noon and NBC Kids E/I programming at 12:30 p.m. Also unlike WXIA 11 when Dr. Phil was airing twice, WKYC 3 only airs the first-run episodes at 5:00 p.m., so finding a replacement hour can be hard unless they replace Family Feud and Celebrity Name Game (3 and 3:30 p.m. respectively) or the soon-to-be-canceled Queen Latifah Show at 2:00 p.m.
  10. It's been weeks since they have now had that logo.
  11. KOTA is #1? Wow. That surprises me. I thought KCLO (a.k.a. KELOLand) would be #1, thanks to its satellite station coverage.
  12. KBCW 44/Cable 12 out of the Bay Area has now started simulcasting KMAX 31's Good Day Sacramento on Sunday mornings only from 9:00-11:00 a.m. https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2015/01/11/kbcw-launches-sunday-morning-simulcast-good-day-sacramento-kmax/
  13. I don't know if anybody needs this or not but... here's NY1's LIVE Stream without any login required: http://www.ny1.com/content/live_video/public/189176/watch-ny1-live/
  14. how long is the newscast? Half-hour or a full-hour?
  15. Miami used to have an MLS club, but folded in 2001 (Miami Fusion F.C.)
  16. John Wilson at WTVT (recently retired) Gene Cox at WWBT/WRIC (retired as well) Jack Williams at WBZ (retired) John Drury at WGN/WLS (deceased) Monica Pearson at WSB (retired) Tom Wills at WJXT (still working at 5, 6 and 10pm) Roger Grimsby at WABC (deceased) Jim Vance at WRC (still working at 6 and 11pm) Tim Taylor at WJW (retired) Mike Landess at KMGH (now at KYTX in Tyler) Just a few more people when I think of TV newscaster legends.
  17. It probably means that KBCB will not be acquired by FOX and that it will remain as a ShopHQ affiliate.
  18. Here is KXJB 4's FINAL sign-off, now seen on YouTube - Very sad moment for the Fargo media, indeed:
  19. In it's place, a brand new 6:30 p.m. local newscast starting December 15th: https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2014/12/02/ksnv-go-live-630-las-vegas-starting-december-15th/
  20. Btw, I'm the one who started The Changing Newscasts Blog at http://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com WTNH 8's Good Morning Connecticut has been cut by half-hour. The program now goes back to start at 5:00 AM: https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2014/12/02/wtnh-good-morning-connecticut-half-hour-later-than-rest/
  21. They did with Manolo Reyes, back in the '60s when WTVJ was still with CBS on Channel 4. I still think it had its primary newscasts in English though, thanks to the Dean of South Florida television news, Ralph Renick.
  22. And just by reading this accordingly, WBFF's new 4:00 p.m. newscast will start on January 19th, pushing back a week from the original January 12th start.
