  1. One of the best from WBAL-TV and one of the best from Baltimore. He's in that Jerry Turner, Al Sanders, Jeff Barnd, Stan Stovall, Vic Carter, Denise Koch-kind of list. One of the best and we'll miss him here at TVNT.
  2. No because KPLC is licensed to Lake Charles and most of their news is focused on Lake Charles.
  3. But doesn't Hubbard already own stations in New Mexico, Duluth, MN; Albany, NY and Rochester? I got confused by what you said. I know they don't own any in OKC, Tulsa and San Diego and I can see Hubbard owning KFMB if Midwest Television, Inc. decides to see it, but I don't see Griffin selling KWTV/KSBI, nor KOTV/KQCW, anytime soon.
  4. Probably not, since Griffin started KWTV in 1953 and has been the owner ever since.
  5. Scripps didn't even own any CBS stations prior to the merger with Journal, other than KENS 5, in which it was sold quickly to Belo in 1997.
  6. Lafayette, IN; not LA. It looks like WEVV 44 is taking over the former WTVW 7's building.
  7. And would "Kathie Lee and Hoda" remain at 10 am ?
  8. Btw, WVTM 13 has added a 6:30 p.m. weeknight newscast to replace Alabama TONIGHT and moved its Sunday 10:00 a.m. hour to 9:00 a.m. WIAT 42 has added a weekend morning newscast for the first time and their first new newscast under Media General ownership. https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2015/04/29/more-news-one-move-central-alabama-wvtm-wiat/ Other than that, ABC 33/40 took away the Good Morning Alabama name for the ABC 33/40 Morning News, WVUA 23 is still kinda crap with just 3 newscasts at 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. and WBRC 6 is just... KING in Central Alabama. I just wish WBRC 6 had weekend early evening newscasts as well.
  9. Prayers to Mongillo's family and especially to Kaufman-Pearson's family, especially since she is a legend in Atlanta and in the news business.
  10. With the standard WXYZ graphics and everything. Then The NOW will be history, at least in Detroit. And then the start of the end of the ill-fated show.
  11. In Springfield, MA, Western Mass News has made its debut. Its the combination of WSHM-LD 3 (CBS 3) and WGGB 40.1/40.2 (ABC 40 and FOX 6, respectively). This is after WSHM's owners at Meredith bought WGGB from Gormally. The new news operation made its debut yesterday at 12:00 Noon. https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2015/04/22/western-mass-news-makes-debut-from-wggb-wshm-ld/
  12. Why does that graphics package remind me of KRDO 13?
  13. They have Steve Harvey from 2 weeks ago because WCAU 10 carries the first-run episodes. I think KYW 3 carries first-run of Dr. Phil, but I might be wrong.
  14. Not surprising to me. They have been falling in the ratings for years now and has never be the same show, since the original cast left with Andrea, Ron, Dao, Mitch, Kia, etc.
  15. That time and temp bug is so far off and so different from everybody else.
  16. Wouldn't be surprised if more viewers tune to KSTC at 9pm or if that broadcast becomes #1 because of this program.
  17. It's only the morning newscast. They show The Big Bang Theory at 10pm instead.
  18. * K-JAC: Your NBC. And you are mistaken. KBMT 12.2 only simulcasts the morning newscast. It also airs exclusive newscasts at 12:00 Noon, 4:00 and 6:30 p.m., while the rest (5:00, 6:00, 10:00 p.m. and weekend newscasts) are only seen on KBMT 12.1.
  19. I like Jawan and the Kup. I wonder how Eric is like, coming from Sacramento; he's actually making a market jump. Good luck to Eric and I'll see how he does here in the morning when I get a chance to watch him. But it's about time Jawan moved to evenings while the Kup goes back part-time to sports.
  20. They've done so for quite a while and their sister station KQDS 21 in Duluth does the same.
  21. You can tell it debuted at 12 Noon today because their 12pm newscast is only on KBMT 12.2.
  22. Just been confirmed by WBTW 13's Vice President and General Manager as well as through their Facebook page... WBTW 13 is adding Myrtle Beach and Florence's first and ONLY 4:30 and 9:00 a.m. morning newscasts starting next Monday, April 20th. https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2015/04/13/wbtw-about-to-add-morning-news-again/
  23. Kris used to do 5pm news for KMBC in the late 90s into the 2000s. Len used to do sports for WFTX 4 before moving to WZVN 7 as news anchor.
  24. WJHG could've done so because it offers The CW on 7.2 and so does WECP with MyNetwork TV on 18.2. Instead, they rather have syndicated programming instead during those timeslots.
