  1. I just found the first station to rebrand as Los 40 in the U.S.: 92.9 KWRH-LP St. Louis who is going by Los 40 St. Louis. https://los40stl.godaddysites.com/ https://www.stlpr.org/economy-business/2025-03-14/st-louis-los-40-spanish-fm-radio-telemundo
  2. Oh great. The Scrippscast method that Sinclair adopted has since spread to KTXS/KTXE.
  3. An iconic figure and titan pillar of Chicago journalism is finally retiring. This Thursday is Walter Jacobson's last Perspective on 720 WGN Radio. https://news.radio-online.com/cgi-bin/rol.exe/headline_id=n46809
  4. Except this is a Scripps station. Nexstar owns WOOD-TV + WOTV + WXSP.
  5. George Clooney is making his Broadway debut on Good Night and Good Luck, an adaptation of the 2005 movie, and a further adaptation of Edward R. Murrow and CBS News. He does talk about Freedom of the Press among other things. EDIT: He gives a shoutout to his father Nick Clooney and to WKRC-TV Cincinnati, which ironically enough, does carry this program as part of its CBS affiliation.

  6. Bingo. Correct. I believe WSVN started their morning news in 1983 as Today in Florida at 6:30 a.m., six years before they would later lose NBC.
  7. Remember Cayle Thonpson from KOMO and The National Desk? His next home takes him fill circle... to Boston and for WFXT. He was a freelancer, but is now a full-time anchor and reporter. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1033627248579747&id=100057974443555
  8. I'm surprised Hearst isn't interested in this. They may be taking a careful approach and just avoid it altogether.
  9. 37 years. What a legacy. What a host. I know this is something we never post but it's TV and broadcasting overall so I'm posting it here. Move it somewhere else if it needs to be. After a 37 year run at QVC, one of its most signature hosts of the shopping network, Mary Beth Roe, has called it a career. While not an overall household name like say Guy Fieri or Rachael Ray, Mary Beth was still a beloved host for the network and you can tell by all the love she received on her last broadcast. This is her last broadcast in full, a two-hour special:

  10. Apollo is looking to sell Cox Media Group. Nexstar and Gray are interested buyers, says Bloomberg. However, there will be conflicts in certain markets if it goes through (for example, Atlanta: WSB-Cox and WANF/WPCH/WKTB-Gray). https://thedesk.net/2025/03/apollo-considers-selling-cox-media-group/
  11. Well, hopefully construction is underway and that they do it fast, or make it a 24/7 operation (outside of hurricanes and whatnot). The 70th anniversary is July 29th, 2026. That's almost 16 months away.
  12. I remember the last major breaking news story WSVN carried... they used CNN, *NOT* FOX. The station is more allegiant towards CNN Newsource than FOX NewsEdge.
  13. WESH was the big break Sheldon Dutes needed. However, he's leaving the station. Kinda bummed too since I thought he was great on Sunrise. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1029082665705184&id=100058103796844
  14. For the first time since 2007 (17 years ago), Tim Drawbridge is back at WNYT. https://www.timesunion.com/kristi/article/meteorologist-tim-drawbridge-returns-wnyt-20233626.php
  15. When WSVN does air a FOX News package for national news, the reporters towards the end always say 7 News, not FOX News. They only showcase and say the FOX brand when FOX is on.
  16. That was wild and I remember that announcement very well. I think today's news though tops it.
  17. Here's another thing... WPLG will fill up ABC programming with news. WSVN will have to decide which simulcasts will go on 7.2 and which will be exclusive. Get ready for the cable/satellite paperwork that'll be discussed to find out where ABC will be located while WPLG stays on 10 more likely.
  18. I do see this... the WPLG and WSFL news arrangement will be off come Aug. 4th since they'll want to move the 10pm news over to WPLG itself and restart the 7-9am block it once had. Add 6:30 news as well, finally bridge the gaps on weekends mornings, and this could be the story that finally gives WSVN a run for their money. I mean, they already have but this will take things to a whole new level.
  19. What a big way to venture into WSVN's 70th year. I truly didn't see this on my bingo card for 2025 or for 2026.
  20. Here's the WSVN side of the story... ABC Miami on WSVN 7.2. https://wsvn.com/news/local/miami-dade/disney-entertainment-and-sunbeam-television-corporation-announce-new-home-for-the-abc-television-network-in-the-south-florida-market/?FBWSVN&fbclid=IwY2xjawJJTKJleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHWIpSNEIDqDVeuvOu1Mk-s7TLKwZlyhOM-bu4kZc4cHaNldzLsPUBiODhQ_aem_B0JyRJKky81ge_aAjP29vg
  21. Wow. I am STUNNED. WSVN is gonna carry two networks?! I mean, this is like a nuclear bomb dropping over us! I wonder what WSVN will do in terms of news output. There's no way WSVN will split it.
  22. BREAKING: WPLG and ABC are breaking up. https://www.local10.com/station/2025/03/20/wplg-tv-parts-ways-with-abc-television-network/
  23. Except... they've started it as a FAST channel (that's available online plus Roku, Fire TV and other places). It airs news plus docs from various Gray stations. Local News Live from Gray Media
  24. I already knew that WTVT has a weather program, SkyTower Weather NOW, on FOX Local. I didn't know WITI had one of their own too on FOX Local... Wisconsin Weather Experts. Here is one episode as an example:
  25. I have another sports deal for ya. This time, FanDuel and Gray are giving you 10 games of... the Cincinnati Reds. WXIX and RESN are the main channels for it, but Charleston-Huntington (WSAZ/WQCW), Lexington (WKYT/WKYT.2), Louisville (WAVE), and Nashville (WSMV/TNV-SEN) also plan to air the package, with additional markets to be added soon. https://tvnewscheck.com/programming/article/fanduel-sports-network-cincinnati-reds-partner-with-wxix-rock-entertainment-sports-network-gray-media/
