Got ya. I remember that they did change it but it was a failure quickly.

WCAU has actually had 4pm news since the late '90s.
-
I've also heard... also heard... still RUMORS, that WFMJ was about to expire its contract with Ellen last year and was willing to do it then. But right before the TV season started, they renewed it. If they didn't, WKBN was about to take it. Connections give me powerful info sometimes.

I've heard that WFMJ has hired some anchors for this new newscast.
-
I'm hearing rumors, new rumors out tonight, that WFMJ may FINALLY get into the 21st century themselves by launching a 5:00 p.m. newscast. No official word on that yet (or even if its just a half-hour or a full-hour) but if it does happen, you heard it here first on TVNT.
-
Not to mention... its still the only place for local news at 4:00 and 4:30 and was the only home for local news at 5:30 for a number of years until WPDE added 5pm news in 2015.

First in HD First full-time NBC First broadcast in time for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Happy birthday, W Myrtle Beach Florence!

* Graham I would like to see Cox swallow up Meredith and remain as Cox Media Group if they decide to go that way.
-
I misjudged ahead of time.
-
So they're eyeing an expansion to Saturdays without seeing how Sundays may go by first.
-
Who's the 7th? I'm thinking Ukee, Natasha, Alexandria, Kate, Jessica and Lauren.
-
6 folks in one newscast? Jeez. Its Good Day Philadelphia in the afternoon! At max, WPVI only uses 4 in the morning and in the afternoon (when airing traffic segments).
-
Its not crap when some of its stations are actually done very well... KPTV, WHNS, KTVK, WFSB, WNEM, KVVU, WALA, WGGB. More of their stations are done well than those who are just crap.

KWTV's Robin Marsh!
-
I have watched her for years. Always been a fan of hers over the 13 years I've gone to Orlando on vacation.

Scripps shares rise 31% and could be looking to buy Cox's TV station if they were interested and if were play. https://www.wcpo.com/money/local-business-news/scripps-shares-rise-on-31-percent-revenue-growth-in-second-quarter

Just a darn shame... KRBK becomes the new "alternate" and now, it'll be a two-station market... KYTV/KSPR/KYCW vs. KOLR/KOZL/KRBK
-
Plus, Heartland Media owns WAAY 31 so.... NOPE! And I like Heartland Media myself so no way Nexstar could've gotten Heartland.

When I did my article on my blog, I had to mention that while WSB claimed to be the first to do this... not true. KIRO used to have an hour-long extension at 7:00am that was online and streaming only as well as KELOLand offering a 15-minute newscast at 4:00pm that was also online and streaming only. Both have since been discontinued. But I believe WSB is the first to create a full-time 24/7 online/streaming channel as if it was a real-time traditional television channel, giving WSB a sister platform to air additional hours of local news if it wanted.

I'll soon report it on my blog. Speaking of the blog... while WNCN has expanded its noon newscast to a full hour as of yesterday, history was made over at Sacramento's KOVR when it has decided to move its 11:00 p.m. news from KMAX to KOVR and expand it to weekends. This means that KOVR has become the first BIG Three O&O station/affiliate to air 90-minutes of local news from 10:00-11:35 p.m. every night. https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2018/07/31/small-minor-newscast-changes-221/

Only conflicts: Orlando (WESH 2/WKCF 18 and WFTV 9/WRDQ 27) Boston (WCVB 5/WMUR 9 and WFXT 25) Pittsburgh (WTAE 4 and WPXI 11)

KJRH Tulsa's weeknight 6:00pm news has been expanded to a full hour. https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2018/07/30/kjrh-now-local-news-exclusivity-tulsa-630-pm/ WVUE New Orleans' Morning Edition is about to add another hour. https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2018/07/30/wvue-morning-edition-about-to-get-bigger/

I know this is not the speculation thread but... 8.1 = ABC 8.2 = Me-TV 8.3 = H&I 51.1 = CW 51.2 = MyTV 51.3 = Escape 51.4 = Laff I may be wrong, but that's how I see it.

By the way, that article says that WNNE is a CW affiliate. I thought they were joking. I thought that wasn't right because I know its an NBC affiliate. Apparently, when WNNE started to channel-share with WPTZ, it became a CW affiliate (taking over from WPTZ and is now WNNE 5.2) so there you go... https://www.mynbc5.com/article/program-alert-prepare-to-rescan-your-tv-to-continue-receiving-wnnes-signal/22105482 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WNNE
