Two days before I turn 24, one of Oklahoma's Own is calling it a career. KOTV anchor and reporter Terry Hood is retiring on Thursday, October 24th after 32 years at the station, but unlike many others who decide to retire and stay in their city they've called home in their careers, Terry will actually leave Tulsa to relocate to O.K.C. to be with her husband. She'll anchor her last newscast on that day on The News on 6 at 6:00 and the station has wasted NO time on her replacement. After a short time afterward, 5:00 p.m. anchor/reporter and KOTV veteran Lori Fullbright will take Terry's place as 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. co-anchor. https://www.newson6.com/story/41160502/terry-hood-to-retire-from-news-on-6-after-32-years

Yeah the 11pm news has actually been back for quite some time now. You mean the 4am program... FOX 5 Behind The Scenes? Yeah, I'd like to know too. What KSWB did was add a half-hour of news at 7pm on weeknights and a half-hour at 11pm on Sundays.

Bought myself a copy and now waiting for it to be shipped over. I didn't hesitate. I had to have this.

Well if that was the case, WUPV essentially takes over for what WWBT produced for WRLH. -

If Gray bought that station, they would convert that into WTVG's CW subchannel station and it would be a blessing for WMNT.

So what your saying is that the new NBC/CW dual station will be on 30.1 (NBC) and 30.2 (CW) ?

Encore, please Bob? Encore!

According to the article, he's also the highest-paid local sportscaster in America. Now we know, if you wanna make a boat load of money on local television, go work in Chicago. Skilling is a perfect example.

Everytime I go to Central Florida on vacation, my team was always Bob and Martie. Always them, nobody else (even though you can put Jim and Wendy in that convo.) I'm so happy for her but Central Florida will soon lose a gripping, yet important voice in local news in the market. First Bob, now Martie. If I wish for anything, I just hope Bob can come back at least for one more day to join Martie on her final day. That's all I ask. That would be AMAZING to see Bob and Martie together, one final time before the year's up.

If NBC doesn't do so for Saturdays, then what makes anyone think ABC will too? WCMH Columbus already splits Saturday Today (7am and then 9am) in two and so does WTHR Indianapolis (somewhat; 7am and then 8am on Me-TV).

Another soccer package taken away from FS1/FS2.

WGN just knows how to do amazing things and this was not only amazing, but touching, really sweet and a tear-jerker. You can't help but feel bad for WGN losing out on the Cubs. And now, this network takes over (my first time looking at the network's logo)...
-
OMG are you kidding me? They certaintely will!

If not, THE most-watched FOX affiliate in the country. I think WSVN regularly pulls in 300,000+ viewers for their news at 10pm (I saw that number years ago but not sure of 2019 numbers tho).

He reminds us every year of a great one who was gone way too early and way too soon.

This may sound stupid but I just learned that today. I didnt know she changed her name to her last name, Jansing. But I can see why NBC News recruited her from WNYT in 1998. She's really good and I enjoy her work.

Remember NBC Nonstop? It looks like NBC wants to try that again with NBC LX (Local X for "eXponential" abilities in telling stories) and yes, it will be an OTA channel next year. https://tvnewscheck.com/article/top-news/239304/nbc-stations-intro-lx-news-for-gen-z-millennials/

I'm legitmally sad about this. You're talking about one of baseball's most legendary teams with a rich history and such a vaulable W.S. victory in 2016 with IMO, one of America's best television stations. Its sad that this 72-year partnership is ending for a new network that many fans will have a hard time getting and that may not succeed that well.

We've gone off topic. WJBF has recently added half-hour news at 4:00, 4:30 and 7:00 p.m. WFXG is finally going 100% in-house and with it, weeknight news at 6:30 and 11:00 p.m. are coming. https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2019/09/14/wfxg-about-to-have-in-house-news-department-two-new-newscasts/ Finally, because WJBF went to 4:00 and 4:30 p.m., WRDW decided to go to an hour at 4:00 p.m. on WAGT and WRDW will soon add two hours of weekend morning news. https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2019/09/16/more-news-in-at-augusta-duo/ Augusta is hot right now.

WDBJ is not the only one running in low-power... so is WJAR Providence. https://turnto10.com/station/news-releases/wjar-broadcasting-with-reduced-power

This IS a shock but we're now seeing this weeks later after the sudden and unexpected announcement... CFRN Edmonton's Daryl McIntrye has retired. Apparently, nobody inside the newsroom knew that at 10 a.m. on Aug. 27th, McIntrye would announce then that he'll be retiring after 33 years after CFRN and a 36 year career overall. I didn't see this coming. I thought he would stay there until he reached at least 35 at CFRN. https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/how-do-you-tell-a-36-year-story-in-five-minutes-you-can-t-but-i-tried-1.4592563

Okay... getting off-topic with WKYC's new logo hatred. I feel that way too but I'm going back on-topic. Calvin Sneed retired from WTVC in 2016 but is coming back and temporarily stepping away from retirement to join WRCB but in a temporary fill-in basis to help the station after anchor LaTrice Currie suffered a medical emergency in late August. https://www.wrcbtv.com/story/41034687/calvin-sneed-to-fill-in-for-latrice-currie Meanwhile, WDBJ 7 is running under low-power because they're under a new frequency and are trying to upgrade their tower and antenna, but county gov. is preventing them from doing so. It may not be until late October or early November when WDBJ is on full-power. https://www.wdbj7.com/content/news/WDBJ7-temporarily-operating-at-low-power-until-building-permit-approved-for-tower-and-antenna-560135321.html Finally, KSTP is adding another hour of local midday news at noon over on KSTC starting next week. Matt Belanger and Leah McLean will anchor. https://kstp.com/news/5-eyewitness-news-announces-new-midday-anchor-team-additional-hour-of-news/5489240/

Not to mention... a new circle 3 logo coming.
