1. At 6:00 p.m., put MSNBC LIVE or The News with Brian Williams.
2. Basically... KTVU against KRON in BOTH weekday and weekend mornings (BOTH air from 4:00-10:00am Weekdays and 7:00-10:00am Weekends. Coincidence? I'm not sure.)
3. And then hopefully, WRDW can put up their 24-hour local weather channel again on 12.2
4. Give WEAR 3 props for continuing to fly the seagull to reflect Northwest Florida.
5. Or take the KPTV/KPDX route and do 8 AND 9pm newscasts. If that was to happen, then the 9pm news on WUAB would be history.
6. If they did put a 6:30pm newscast, they would just lose in the ratings to news powerhouse WJW 8. Plus, they still lose in the morning news ratings to WJW 8, so even if CLE 43 added morning news at 8am and added a 6:30pm weeknight newscast, they would lose super badly to WJW 8. They would only win at 9pm.
7. It was never failed. It was moved because it acquired the MyNetwork TV affiliation from WBIN in 2011.
8. Trust me. They'll go with News 6, and not with that slogan. I reported on this, FIRST, days ago on my blog.
9. It's also WCAV's currently logo, but without the "WCAV" part and the blue/gold look.
10. Where did you hear that from?
11. If I was WGN, I would keep an eye on this.
12. Raycom Media is on an expanding newscast spree, just in time for the new TV season:
13. Cleveland 19 News logo = reminds me of a different station that used to have this look. CLE 43 logo = reminds me of Telefutura (now UniMas)
14. I strongly do. I remember watching it a few times. That was when WKMG dropped the 4, 5 and 5:30 in 2009 to deliver an hour-long 6pm newscast. Now it seems like its reversed, plus an additional newscast at 7pm because WKMG already brought back the 5 and 5:30 and soon, they'll be bringing back the 4pm again.
15. Don't forget WDIV, which still uses the Local brand as well as WPLG. WJXT uses "The Local Station" while KSAT 12, like KPRC 2, doesn't have the word "Local" anywhere, anymore.
16. prior to March 1980, when WGN had a 10:00 p.m. newscast called Nightbeat (it was on at 12 Midnight, but then moved to 10:00 p.m. later) and also had John Drury and Newsnine. The complete and full story is on my Changing Newscasts Blog (@ChangeNewsBlog | #ChangingNewscasts)
17. I hate reading books, but this makes me wanna get a copy of the book, even though I don't live in Philadelphia.
18. Seems like you've read my blog... :-)
19. I guess The FAB Life ?
20. KFSN is the only one that doesn't do so. I see WSB and WFTV and in reality, any other ABC affiliates because ABC doesn't have a strict requirement to air JKL, I think, unlike CBS and NBC, which do have strict requirements to air their late night programming on both networks.
21. That's something I wish Homer Simpson had. Imagine that... Meet MSNBC's newest Senior Food Analyst... Homer Simpson! Homer: "Mmmmm.......... Donuts!"
22. That's a better circle 7 than the last one.
23. That leaves Eric Paulsen as the only surviving member left of the original "Eyewitness Morning News" when it debuted on 4WWL-TV in the 70s.
24. KABB should've added news at 5:30 p.m.
