  1. Oh Mona! The last time he had a "hit"...Elton John was at the top of the AM radio charts. Don't let him anywhere near San Diego.
  2. What would do??? Fire up the phone banks and start praying. Can I get an "Amen"?
  3. Most your morning crews show up in the 3:30-4am range for live hits beginning at 5am. 99.9% of the stations in the US do not staff camera/reporters after midnight till 3:30a. There are a few exceptions such as KGTV and KFMB in San Diego which staff cameras overnight. Otherwise it's the stringers...which can be a major pain in the ass for morning show producers with constant annoying calls about selling dumpster fires and senseless drunk driving crashes....all while copping major attitude if you "pass" on the crappy shaky video. Here's to the morning show producers who have the most thankless job in the world. God bless you guys and Merry Christmas...if that's how you roll.
  4. Oh well too bad...so sad. I guess they can't buy Tribune now cuz they will be 13mil short. Can we all go home now? “S rozhdyestvom Hristovym!”
  5. If I told you they photo shopped that new tower into the shot...would it ruin your Christmas? How would you really know? (winky winky)
  6. Bring back J.Fred Muggs... He will only grab his own ass...and he is non-partisan...so no fake news.
  7. Just the thought of this ruthless criminal still being free sends chills up my spine. Things were so much more innocent back then. Lock your doors...change your passwords.
  8. She can be decontaminated and reprogrammed...a little botox....waaalaaa!
  9. Kathy Griffin would be ultimate redemption. GO Big!
  10. Hair shaming? I think we have hit a new low on TVNT. I will be turning in my diversity card.
  11. It would be a very bold move. The timing could actually be perfect for an all female anchor team on CBSTM... There is NO reason why it cannot be tried out starting in 3...2....1.
  12. How about Billy Bush? He should be all rehabilitated by now, and ready to start clawing his way back up to the top. "This is CBS...the Forgiveness Network."
  13. I might have to pour a cognac and light a cigar...and ponder the part about apples and oranges. Actually I'm just being a cranky old bitch. Look, If these regional and out of market produced newscast suck so bad then nobody will watch. I remember when KNBC was doing some of the WX for KNSD during the depression...it was sucky...people hated it. They noticed. When people demand a better local newscast they will get it. Affluent communities that can support decent local newscast get OK coverage, because they can support the ad base. Poor communities are going to get crappy coverage if they cannot support the local TV news outlets. The tide will turn as it always does. Happy Thanksgiving
  14. Happy Thanksgiving guys... Don't forget to eat some news after your turkey. I'm grateful for just being on this planet... And thanks to Weeters and all the other members of TVNT.
  15. And the networks have been doing this for about 90 years. Why would a newscast based in NYC be any different than one based in Fresno? There is no longer any need for being based in a particular city now we have the wonderful information super highway. No more MOS...just twitter quotes.
  16. That's all? One stupid web article? How come WRAL didn't send out a live truck and reporter for this update? I would think after 2 months impasse on a multi-million dollar deal that it would be the lead story. I want to see some MOS from upset viewers who didn't get the Zoomies show or Cheaters. Where are the shots of viewers celebrating the return of TV? No parties?
  17. And in case you were wondering what happened to her... http://www.thelardnerreport.com/about
  18. Few people knew that Nancy had a wicked sense of humor...she could leave you in stitches. But that's a thread for another day. "And sew it goes..."
  19. You must have been an easy kid to please at Christmas... Anyway... Thanks for the info. Looks it's on COX here also... COX in San Diego North Coastal on Ch 364 (sd) and 1364 HD.
  20. For as much as I (We) bag on KGTV...I want to take a little time out and point out they actually do some steller reporting sometimes.... One bad actor off the streets of San Diego. http://www.10news.com/news/uc-san-diego-student-arrested-after-laundry-room-panty-thefts I smell an Emmy. (yup...i did)
  21. Looks like KGTV is now allowing the ad blockers on it's site. Unless my ad blocker got real smart.
  22. Fair enough... After all...you HAVE gotten the closest to that holy grail tape...so far. Run forth my little tape-hopper...
  23. Close....but no cigar. By June of 1986 'This Day' has been neutered. The dramatic lighting was already history. You get props for finding the clip...but find us a "This day' from the first few weeks...because it was so bad I heard KFMB sent people home to home to destroy all copies both Betamax and VHS.
  24. Larry Mendte at KFMB... The original Pumpkin Boy...1988...before emails. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=iXAFJ_7-9aw;t=336
  25. Back in those days... neighborhoods were proud of those giant antennas...that was Progress.
