This is a brilliant set. I can see the cues taken from the CBS Times Square set and Studio 57 in NY.
I wonder if the CBS Evening News/Weekend News will use this on days when they broadcast from LA.

I wonder who's gonna fill in for Jamie Yuccas on days she has to fly cross-country to NY to fill in on CBS Mornings.

Is the headline ticker present on the KPIX feed; or is it just on the OTT streaming feed?
I'm also confused by the lack of weather, sports scores, etc. from the ticker. What's the point?
The ticker and bug is the same on TV and streaming. -

I mean it doesn't look like every station is getting box with call sign, only the select few with legacy brands that may be hard to just cut off right away. I.e. KDKA, WBZ, WJZ, KPIX, etc.
From what we’ve seen, a couple of non-Group W stations like KCAL/KCBS and WBBM might be doing the call letter box as well. It’s kinda warranted for the former since KCBS newscasts will go by “KCAL News” going forward. -

Yeah, the more and more I hear the music, the more and more I am hearing similarities to the Time Warner Cable News theme. Could it be the composer was Smash Haus?
Antfood was behind the new music. -
As long as the content isn’t being affected, what’s the problem?

Full 3pm newscast
25 minutes ago, Geoffrey said:I'm rather disappointed. Even though I am opposed to the new numberless branding, I expected to like the new graphics. That bug is huge and it looks like a copy and paste of the CBS News streaming package (which is the point, I get it).
Didn't think they could do worse than the outgoing O&O package but this feels lifeless to me.
I expect a return to numbers within two years.
Most of the O&Os were struggling, even with the channel numbers. What do they have to lose with this?-

Orlando and San Diego also have three hour-long 10pm newscasts. As for the latter, KNSD produced KSWB’s 10pm before the Fox era began.
-
Just think, in LA, there would be four 10pm newscasts if NBC does indeed go through with this in the future. KTLA, KCAL, KTTV, and KNBC.

With the film and TV industry growing in Atlanta and the state of Georgia overall, I don’t understand why CNN would want to minimize their presence in Atlanta.

The memo in the FTVLive Deanno story linked here said they’re conducting rehearsals on the new set for “the next several weeks”, so a January (or February) launch is more likely.

Here’s a promo that confirms the “KCAL News” brand will also be on KCBS.
