  1. Various reports from the 3 Ft. Smith stations newscasts from June 1985, beginning with the open to KHBS/KTVP's NewsCenter Nightbeat:
  2. The termination of FuzzyMemories YT channel is unfortunate, but not surprising. Some of the recent stuff they had uploaded had tons of flagable/copyright heavy content (such as the full episodes of Happy Days, Soundstage, etc.). I'm curious as to what they'll do from here, whether it be them going to court to have the channel return (like their fight with Tribune 10 years ago to upload WGN-TV clips), or just starting over with a new one. This will definitely breathe new life into their main website however, which hasn't seen much updates since around 2017. Now for a little oddity that a found on a tape, an entire 30+ minute downtime sequence for KYW-TV from September 1987. yes, they were only off the air for a half hour, and yes, they still did formal sign-off and sign-on messages!
  3. I agree with that. They do a good job with coverage of high school football, many of their Thursday Night Lights and Friday Night Rivals games air on Stadium.
  4. Why thank you Derrick. I've got a few rare goodies, sadly no more 80's PC news, but I've still got some surprises up my sleeve!
  5. For the second of my tape captures, I'm now pleased to share you this mega-rare newsbrief from WMBB from January 16, 1984. And before you ask, I don't have any more from this era, yet!
  6. Good news everyone!* I just got myself a capture card, and now I'll be able to share with you all some of the rare goodies from my growing tape collection, starting off with this recording of the ABC News Weekend Report from August 23, 1987, taped off KVUE in Austin and complete with sign-off! https://www.facebook.com/groups/tvidents/permalink/1242947899196159/ *With apologies to Futurama.
  7. Someone please tell this guy to upload this KTWO 1982 newscast in whole, commercials and all!
  8. Some very early WNYW promos from March 30-31, 1986, still using the old "40 Years of Fine Tuning" theme. The Fox network had not yet been announced, and Tom Gregory was still working at the station!
  9. A CFMT ID, movie intro, and promos from February 1987, using the "11 Gold" theme and graphics. Everytime I hear that ID on stations from back then I cant help but sing "_ Gold!": Also on the video are some CHCH promos and a sign-off from that time.
  10. Hmmm, could the theme used in the late 80's/early 90's possibly be a newer/remix version of The News People?
  11. Some clips of WWOR UPN 9 News from January 1996, with their cool movie inspired set:
  12. Some commercials from WABC from exactly one year before 9/11:
  13. WKTV ends the day in 1988 with a brief news headlines rundown, a sign-off dating back to the 70's (with mention of the workers union!), and space shuttle footage set to the 80's version of High Flight:
  14. Welcome back! You were gone for so long I had thought NBC threw you in jail after terminating the old account. I was about to make a whole thread begging you to return, but instead of on YT, as a website (ala FuzzyMemories and TCMediaNow).
  15. Some WVVA clips from late 1985-early 1986, including an open and close, reports, and outtakes from their NBC News "Common Goal" promo:
  16. Wha? Sinclair building a newscast? This has to be a joke. They don't build newscasts unless it's done at WSBT or another station! A note about that. Despite sadvertising KidsClick on air, TBD never advertised it on their website! They're schedule even listed normal TBD shows from 6-9! I'll bet the reason to fill the slot with paid programs instead is to get back some of the $$$ Sinclair lost in investing in Kids Click.
  17. I think they also did ESPN's 1994-1999 Sportscenter intro:
  18. And here's another episode of Five Country Closeup from September 1979, proving that the logo debuted that year (in case @Info Junkie wants to upload the ID by itself, and the maybe news open too): Watch at the end for a commercial break that was from the previous recording!
  19. It's been on YT for several months, but here I present for you an episode of WOI-TV's Five Country Closeup from January 8, 1980, which includes a slick early-CGI ID using The Best Things in Life: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7srqi8itko The ID was created by a Seattle-based firm called Alpha Cine (who also designed graphics for KOMO & KSTW): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwuOJ8zTg3g And that's by no means all! In another video, I found the news open they had back then, which used a new cut of TBTIL that I've not heard before: https://youtu.be/Q8tOk9Fto94?t=1829
  20. It was a longshot, trying to bring back a dead and buried programming form that no company had any interest in reviving, but I honor their effort, and I am surprised they've managed to make it this far. Could we possibly see Kids Click return in the future as a full network? They went through enough shows in the nearly 2 years to fill up a whole day's schedule.
  21. He got two out of three strikes. For your consideration, I present WOI-TV's post Oscars newscast from March 23, 1998. They were at the time on a temporary set, a new one (along with the ABC affiiliates theme) would debut in exactly one week:
  22. VHSGoodiesWA3 said his channel is in danger of being terminated, quickly, save as many of his videos as you can! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFiT_g6NLYQojQ5ttOAMp3w/
  23. Here's a WQAD newsbreak from 1987/88 using WFTV's mid 80's theme:
  24. So it looks like Grit is here to stay, even though it's now devolved in to a waste of space for many major stations.
  25. CourtTV already announced it's affiliates? That I didn't know. Well, for now, there are only 13 of them, most of which feature Grit on another station. I can imagine the roster will expand greatly before or after the launch. I'm sure many station managers are desperate to move up from ther 60+ skewing Grit to the younger CourtTV.
