  1. I was reading just before it how twitter deleted a Crazy Rudy false info tweet. Good catch. Thanks.
  2. This morning, Darlene Rodriquez began co-anchoring TINY from home, along with weather reports from Mara LaRosa. Both Michael Gargiulo and in a separate area, Lauren Scala (traffic) were in studio.
  3. Last night at 11 Stefan Holt was broadcasting either from his home or his dad's. John Chandler did sports from an empty newsroom , whereas earlier in the week Bruce Beck had switched to at home. This morning Rafael Miranda also was broadcasting from home. On Saturday Today, Dave Price has been filling in for Dylan Dreyer who is on family leave. Like yesterday on News 4, he broadcast from home. It seems NBC is being much more aggressive at getting on air folks out of 30 Rock and setting them up at home. Both Holts seem to have been set up with green screens, the rest including Chuck Scarborough, Janet Huff and Maria LaRosa from home offices or dens. I assume space, ability to be separate from spouses, kids, and pets (except fish as in Price's case) and capabilities (space for lighting, cameras, teleprompter, high speed connection, etc) for each on air person is taken into consideration as to who can broadcast remotely or not. After all this is done with, it would be interesting to see how they were able to pull all this off.
  4. Dave Price and Bruce Beck switched to "from home" the last few days too. Part of reducing the density of people at 30 Rock.
  5. So as part of the deal, did YES part owner Sinclair demand CBS2 run any of their must runs?
  6. Lots of "if only's" which won't help the current situation.. I also suspect the issue may be more than studio space since the building itself is closed down. The question is what are the current options CBS has, and what they will do short term, and perhaps long term. At the end of the day, does the typical viewer get the local information they need, including local weather and what little sports news there is? That is CBS's primary objective.
  7. CBS News President issued an email earlier today that out of abundance of caution, they will not be returning to the Broadcast Center. CBSTM will be using Colbert's set at the Ed Sullivan Theater. I suspect CBS is scrambling to find studio space to move to. Could they convert a studio at MTV? Or a rental studio? Not a lot of options. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/cbs-news-film-morning-show-late-shows-ed-sullivan-theater-1285179?utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=CBS+News+Moves+Production+Of+Morning+Show&utm_campaign=CBS+Could+See+%24350M+Ad+Hit+On+Canceled+NCAA
  8. Most NBC O&Os have added a 7 pm report and an 11:30 pm report.
  9. Would WABC be any different? Once they move everything will be consolidated unless they send the anchor team to Bristol CT. NBC has the advantage with different facilities in NJ that have been used as a back up in the past. Fox5 has FNC as a back up. At the end of the day, the typical viewer probably did not see much of a difference. I will say that IMO, I do not like the use of the CBSN NY set, it seems the lighting, camera angle, and sound are off. On Saturday, it took a couple of minutes for it to even air and I would assume they lost viewers at that point to competition considering the pandemic crisis we are experiencing. That did not help.
  10. The. issue is studio space and timing. KYW, WJZ, WBZ, WBBM etc. all broadcast news at the same time as WCBS. It made more sense to move it to KCBS. KCBS probably has more network capabilities too, so all the throws to local reporters in the fields, weather etc. were seamless. It's no different than if the CBS Evening News originated from LA. The systems probably are in place. Although many groan about the standardized look of many CBS and NBC O&O's, to the casual viewer you would not have known that the broadcast originated in LA. NBC has other options - in the past they have used CNBC's HQ in Englewood Cliffs, or Telemundo 47 in Fort Lee when 30 Rock has had an issue that prevented the use of the studio. They also have SNY as an option too as NBCSports is a part owner. CBS does not have those options as they are clustered on W57th street.
  11. The Hollywood Reporter states a third CBS employee has tested positive. Hopefully all three are able to recover fully.
  12. More details including the full letter from CBS News President regarding what happened. https://deadline.com/2020/03/coronavirus-cbs-news-staffers-test-positive-susan-zirinsky-new-york-1202880034/
  13. Her bio is still up and her Twitter feed is active. I suspect she is taking time off to be with her husband now that the NFL season is over. A bi-coastal marriage is not easy.
  14. They said it was a special edition due to the impeachment trial when mentioned during the 6 pm newscast. They may be testing the waters (again).
  15. She was also the daughter in law of the LSU offensive coordinator.
  16. He joined WFXT, the Cox owned Boston Fox affiliate in August.
  17. RNN is a useless slot on the Altice cable line up. All they show are informercials. And although the signal is in HD, most of what they "broadcast" is not. I guess the mark ups from what people buy and the share the French family gets in addition to the paid time justifies the cost of broadcasting.
  18. Exactly, especially this time of year when anchors and reporters are trying to use up vacation time, just like everyone else that works. NBC just explained his absence. Ushery was inducted in the Silver Circle of NY Broadcasters today, why he was off at noon, as was many of the regular staff. Congratulations David.
  19. David Ushery is anchoring with Stacey Bell at 5. Janice Huff is doing weather.
  20. News12 New Jersey switched to the new logo and modified graphics online today.
  21. No change to News12NJ on air look
  22. Yes, the NJ website has a new look. However the older News12 logo is used, as it is on air. Only the graphic on Altice One menu's is the new one. I checked out the Cheddar website but it appears different. No change to on air graphics or look.
  23. Yes that is one of the Altice One menu pages.
  24. Their, not there. It reminds me of the Cheddar logo as well which makes sense. I noticed it on my Altice One guide on Monday. I have not noticed it on air on News12NJ as of yet.
