As are Darlene and Michael on New4NY (WNBC)
-
Which News 12? Many of us associate Craig Allen with CBS2 and WCBS 880.
-
I'm not an Eyewitness News junkie. I'm a very casual ABC7 news viewer. To me, it is not important. It identifies WABC being an ABC station,. Mission accomplished,. Most viewers probably do not notice the bug to begin with.
-
It was interrupted by the network carrying President Biden's remarks and then went to Days. At 5, Natalie joined Adam, and they are both doing the 6.
-
During bad weather they have done this before including a couple of weeks ago (including using Gilma). No way would Natalie working 4,5,6,7 and 11 become permanent.

Can y'all just stop! This happens every year when staff take vacation. They are entitled to vacation. And for many with years of experience and high compensation, they get a lot of it. When an anchor is missing they may be sick, may be on vacation or took a personal day for whatever reason. We don't need 20 posts speculating they are gone or whatever. It is too often on WABC, and as was mentioned it spilled over to WNBC as well. If someone leaves a station, you all find out anyhow. No need to speculate. Back to the topics.

It is a homecoming for Tom. Prior to ABC News, he was at WNBC. He is also NBC's national correspondent.
-
Both actually reported on the 5 pm and 6 pm news since Monday. Are they full time or per diem?
-
Who said he did? Anchors are humans. They are allowed vacations. They allowed sick days. And they are allowed to keep their private lives private. Throughout this time News4 was showing promos with David for the 11 pm show. Looks like real life to me.
-
they were running promos for the 11 pm news with David this morning. People are allowed to be on vacation, or have medical issues without the need to publicize it all over social media. I think it is up to what viewers think, not people on this board. Just like Lester Holt now standing throughout his newscast, it allows better use of the video boards. it does not bother me. But my vote does not count. Only NBC management and their audience survey teams know how the bulk of their viewers feel. If the anchors really had an issue, I'm sure they would bring it up and see if something can be accommodated.

Last night, Natalie specific said Chuck had the night off. With 45+ years of service, he has a lot of vacation time now.

I just read this. It is not WPTV, in fact the memo states WPTV facility will provide studio support if needed. The address stated is not the WPTV studio address. The memo specifically mentions the purchased media properties of iON (which was located separately in WPB), Newsy and Katz Networks. I suggest you re-read this.

He has been on all this week. With his years of service and current contract he gets a load of vacation days and only works 4 days a week.
-
So far it looks like duopoly stations in the same market are getting them, which makes a lot of sense. I would imaging the roll out in other Telemundo O&O's will continue after all the NBC/T duopolies are completed.
-
I believe this is Katherine Creag’s replacement. Others have been filling in, mostly Gaby Acevedo.
-
This has been a total sham. There is no mention that the station is owned by "Mission" broadcasting anywhere on their broadcasts or website - except in the about us section. Everything is Nexstar. The President/GM is a Nexstar employee. If it wasn't to stay under the caps, Mission Broadcasting would not even exist.
-
The days of Don Pardo voiceovers, introducing the newscast and talent, with grand music is long gone,. I'm not sure viewers really cared. This gets the newscast started quickly and provide the viewers with information quickly. It's been like that for so long we are used to it here.
-
People are on vacation or took a long weekend. It happens. They are allowed. Viewers probably are more focused on a familiar anchor than a replacement. That's whose opinion counts - the viewer.
-
Does WMAQ have an equivalent to NY Live at 11:30 am? My question is if they do, are they using the exact same graphics package or is it modified?
-
WNBC last night - which was primary day in NYC, used a mix of looks. Election coverage included many elements of Look S, while maintaining Look N for regular stories. What I noticed, now that we saw the Chicago roll out, is the promo for the new 7 pm news program includes a lot of Look S elements. I'm not sure why Valerie Staub did not decide to completely roll out Look S with the election coverage - it would have been perfect timing.
-
Because it is not necessary and redundant (the anchors always introduce themselves).
-
Definitely evolutionary, which is appropriate. We'll see when WNBC switches. So far the previous graphics.
-
Actually the use of stand up shots and using the back screen for graphics is.a positive change and probably will continue. If you notice Lester stands most of NN now too just down the hall. Will they eventually change the desk, probably. Should they add more large video screens, definitely.
-
Honestly, it will probably not be noticed by most viewers being so subtle. It makes you wonder why go through the expense if there is no real return.
-
Wow, the fact he does not know the difference between excepted and accepted should concern any journalist.
