Also, here is a WDEF nightside open from that same period, but a different version of the theme. You can see the open at 26:51.
 

 

I really despise how the top part of the previous background still appears as each open scene changes (speaking for the “Nightside” open).

If you don’t know what I’m talking about there is an attached screenshot I took while watching the open that can sum it up.

 Though honestly I’d rather give Park points here for including a (possibly) custom news theme for WDEF instead of using something another station has used.

How did we miss this?!

I present to you: two new compilations!

The first one is the doormat that is now known as “Local 24” in Memphis, and the second is another Colorado/Cordillera fave of mine.

A KMTV clip from 1980 featuring Dick Fletcher very shortly before his Tampa run, along with John McDonald and Chuck Roberts of CNN. They used “TuesdayA”.

More from this channel - WHOA! ‘DEF picked up Counterpoint in early ‘96?!

Then that means they used PYCCO afterward, and THEN reverted to Counterpoint AGAIN in ‘98?

Shes also got some WYFF work as well (their very first “News 4” era!)

Before he hit it big in Denver, Bill Stuart worked at KETV under the name Bill Hamilton.

It appears a guy named “kyndle hewitt” has jumped on the news open bandwagon - they are doing compilations for pretty much all the Raycom/Gray stations.

That WTSP bump from 1993 is interesting, as it uses Brian James with Great News instead of NS2000+. Odd.
