Is Lockwood nothing more then an Island of Misfit Toys for things Gray does not want?

I'm a long time DIRECTV customer and survived the two week Viacom was gone in 2012, yet I agree with Viacom on this one as any American who hasn't been traumatized by Trump & Fox News knows that the THREE things that are driving up cost of pay TV bills these days are SPORTS, SPORTS, SPORTS. In addition, Viacom is kinda miffed that AT&T is themselves a content provider with the addition of the Warner channels and that they were shut of the new DIRECTV Now packages.

For those of you who still want Viacom, the best option I've seen is Philo, which Viacom is a party in this venture. This service is $20/month with the first week free.

Is Nexstar rolling out a different format website layout??

Check out KXAN's site -- totally different than other sites... I rather like it myself...

It's nice to see that Nexstar has apparently hired, apparently, someone who stayed awake in their webpage design class. As for me personally, living on Oklahoma, it will be a better pill to sallow when KFOR joins Nexstar and migrates to the new platform.

Obviously, KDKA does NOT like the Patriots

Should the Patriots win on Sunday, KDKA should just put up a "Technical Difficulties" slide during the trophy presentation to spare Western Pennsylvania from seeing the Patriots collect their 6th trophy.

I made corrections to my post, please review.

Another interesting tidbit out of all of this is that Nexstar plans to use stations in State Capitals for Political coverage in that particular state but the only concern about that is Nexstar is not in every single city that's a State Capital (For example, Nexstar isn't in Columbia-Jefferson City so, therefore, all of the Missouri stations Nexstar owns has to get creative with the way they cover Politics in Missouri)

    Let's Take a closer look;

Montgomery, AL: They can open a bureau to supplement their Birmingham and Mobile operations

Juneau, AK: No operation in Alaska, Graycom Turf

Phoenix, AZ: They have KASW, but no news operation

    Little Rock, AR: KARK

Sacramento, CA: In process of acquiring KTXL from Trubune

Denver, CO: Bureau for their existing operation - KXRM

    Hartford, CT: WTNH

Dover, DE: No operation serving Delaware

Tallahassee, FL: Their closest operations are WMBB, WEAR, & WFLA

Atlanta, GA: Bureau for their existing operations

    Honolulu, HI: KHON

Boise, ID: No operation in Idaho

Springfield, IL: WCIA, who can assist WGN once Nexstar take over in Chicago

    Indianapolis, IN: WISH

Des Moines, IA: WOI or WHO, whichever Perry decides to keep

    Topeka: KS: KSNT

    Frankfort, KY: No operation

    Baton Rouge, LA: WVLA

    Augusta, ME: No operation

Annapolis, MD; No operation - This is Sinclair's turf

Boston, MA: Bureau for their existing operations - WWLP and WPRI for Bristol County

    Lansing, MI: WLNS

    St. Paul, MN: No operation

    Jackson, MS: WJTV

Jefferson City, MO: Nexstar might call the University of Missouri and see whether KOMU is available

Helena, MT: No news operaion in Billings

Lincoln, NE: No operation - They should call Citadel to see whether KLKN is available - Graycom turf for now

Carson City, NV: No operation in Reno DMA, yet KLAS in Las Vegas

    Concord, NH: No operation

    Trenton, NJ: No operation

    Santa Fe, NM: KRQE

    Albany, NY: WTEN

    Raleigh, NC: WNCN

    Bismark, ND: KX News

    Columbus, OH: WCMH

Oklahoma City, OK: In process of acquiring KFOR from Tribune

    Salem, OR: KOIN

    Harrisburg, PA: WHTM

    Providence, RI: WPRI

Columbia, SC: Bureau for their existing operations

    Pierre, SD: KELO Land

    Nashville, TN: WKRN

    Austin, TX: KAXN

    Salt Lake City, UT: KTVX

    Montpelier, VT: WVNY

    Richmond, VA: WRIC

    Olympia, WA: No operation

    Charleston, WV: WOWK

Madison, WI: Bureau for their existing operations

    Cheyenne, WY: No operation

I think they'll just move the CW over to KNCT for some reason. I don't agree with the whole Telemundo thing that everyone has been saying.

Please note, that Gray has a permit in College Station, K49LC-D RF 49 -> 27, to potentially serve as a satellite for the "new" KNCT.

Jenna Bush is the frontrunner to replace Kathie Lee. Hoda may decide she doesn't want to do the 4th Hour without KLG. They could  cancel he Kathie Lee &  Hoda Show (since technically that what it had been for many years despite being under the tODAY Brand) and have Jenna and Sheinelle hist the 4th Hour

I believe that NBC should drop the 4th hour and either replace it with another show or return the time to the stations.

Translation: Jeff was getting too expensive for KDKA's payroll.

According to FTVLive, Thompson, Wallace and Lamb are out!!

Tribune has been offering buyouts to some of their higher price talent.

At Kansas City’s WDAF, sources tell FTVLive that a number of staffers have accepted the buyouts and will be leaving the station.

Sources say that longtime WDAF Meteorologist Mike Thompson, along with longtime sports director Al Wallace and longtime sports reporter Jason Lamb have all accepted the buyots.

It appears that WDAF will have no sports department as of Dec. 31st with the loss of Wllace and Lamb.

Crap, Tribune has several fossils at KFOR, they can clean house there.

  11. Decided to drive around the Sinclair HQ today to see what’s back there. I would have gotten out of the car but there were way too many people in the parking lot at 10:30 AM.

The satellite dishes are getting a wash down.

A huge satellite truck. Looked relatively new.

The satellite farm was getting mowed.

    Their helipad.

Their ATSC 3.0 Test vehicle. Looks like a live truck with a mast but has a regular receiver antenna and for some reason a camera.

At least you made it out alive.

  12. Susquehanna would not be clean, as they are ranked 2nd and 3rd. Memphis is not clean either.

    My lists have been corrected.

As for Susquehanna, aren't the rankings as follows: 1. WGAL, 2. The Field?

  14. Correct me if I'm wrong, here are the markets where Nexstar can acquire a Tribune station clean, in DMA order:

    DMA 4: Philadelphia - WPHL 17

    DMA 5: Dallas - KDAF 33 CW

  15. Osage Beach is actually split between the Springfield and Columbia/Jefferson City DMAs. Most of Osage Beach is in Camden County, which is in the Springfield DMA, but a small portion of it is in Miller County, which is in the Columbia/Jefferson City DMA.

As per RabbitEars, KRBK will be moving to the Springfield antenna farm in Fordland, MO when they more to RF 22 in the repack.

  16. I'm going to call it right now, Nexstar will gain a duopoly in Knoxville while also acquiring KTEN in Sherman/Ada

The only question is who gets KAKELand? (since Nexstar already owns KSN) my money for that would be on Standard or Hearst acquiring KAKELand

As for KTEN, Nexstar might as well do what they need to do to acquire them as KTEN is the missing piece of a Nexstar-Graycom puzzle that will flank the Oklahoma-Texas border.

    Amarillo: KAMR-KFDA

    Wichita Falls: KFDX-KSWO

    Sherman: KTEN?-KXII

    Shreveport: KTAL-KSLA

  18. By the way, that article says that WNNE is a CW affiliate. I thought they were joking. I thought that wasn't right because I know its an NBC affiliate.

Apparently, when WNNE started to channel-share with WPTZ, it became a CW affiliate (taking over from WPTZ and is now WNNE 5.2) so there you go...

    https://www.mynbc5.com/article/program-alert-prepare-to-rescan-your-tv-to-continue-receiving-wnnes-signal/22105482

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WNNE

Yep, WNNE has left Hartford, VT and has moved its COL to Montpelier, VT, the state capital and it now transmitting alongside WPTZ at Mount Mansfield at RF 14.

  19. New M&A from Hearst.

They're acquiring Portland, ME's CW station WPXT from Ironwood Communications.

Hearst already owned the ABC station there, WMTW.

WPXT also carries MyNetworkTV & MeTV on its subchannels (in which the latter is carried on many Hearst properties).

No price was disclosed, but we'll see when the paperwork gets posted.

This makes sense as WMTW & WPXT are currently roommates, yet aren't duopolies not allowed in Portland, ME. Should this go through, would Sinclair acquire WPFO?
