Meteorologist Bud Ford is leaving KTUL for a second time to do another adventure outside of tv. If you recall he was at KTUL 2010-2012/2013ish and left to focus on his radio show he was doing in St Louis (Bud and Broadway) then came back to KTUL in 2020 during the pandemic leaving St Louis and the radio show. He hasn’t announced where he is heading or what he will be doing but mentioned college where he’s heading. He also loves doing jokes and picking on his co workers while doing the weather. https://ktul.com/good-day-tulsa/segments/take-a-look-back-at-some-of-our-favorite-moments-with-bud-ford-on-good-day-tulsa?fbclid=IwAR3L727czomHfsU7ym_qCwu0P6q23H_n2v7b-u23_84uIAmo_eMtihwOASY

Just an update for you on SkyNews 9 it’s been back up in the air for the past week has the new windshield. They used it for the grow house fire in Logan County as well as the OKC bombing memorial run to remember yesterday.

I just used the word annually it always goes in every 100 hours especially as much as 6 and 9’s helicopters are used in Oklahoma between both stations and the three pilots (yes KWTV technically has two pilots).
-
Understand just saying what KOTV and the pilot said why it was there.

I think that is what they will use for News 9 at 9am and 4pm.

Here’s a couple of pictures from NEWS 9 This Morning as they talked about the move and new set. Starting tonight at 10 and through all of next week they will have stories on the old building and will debut the new building on Sunday at 5:30 as planned. They also held a dedication ceremony this morning at the new building and had OKC mayor along with owner David Griffin make statements.
-
Kwtv is set for the first broadcast to be Sunday November 13th. And while the set is still technically not available for the public to see pictures of yet until the debut Karl Torp is working at the downtown studio today and posted this from the set’s Bob Mills weather center.
-
Also remember they have other tenants that will occupy the building it won’t just be News 9. The Oklahoman (newspaper) will remain along with several restaurants and a YMCA as of now so space was probably limited for sales to be separated from the newsroom.
-
KWTV employees were given a tour of the new facility on Thursday they were only allowed to post photos of the new newsroom that will House everyone from Sales, News, and 9 Outdoors (billboard advertising) the studio is being kept under wraps from the viewers until launch day sometime next month.
-
Good news I just talked to someone with Griffin Media here at the Tulsa State Fair and the move for 9 isn’t delayed they will start moving office people (sales and outdoor media) in 2-3 weeks and the news broadcasts in November.
-
Whoops looks like they may have a delay in moving into the new building they had a crane and construction crews working to remove this video board outside and the crane tipped over onto the building so now they have to have an inspector come look and see how bad the damage is and if it will delay the move there is damage to parts of the outside of the building.
