Why not have HEARST buy WZVN too and create a duopoly between WZVN and WBBH TV.

The F.C.C. Will not allow that, the market is too small.  And I'm sure that Ms. Klunkler & Montclare Communications don't want to sell just yet.   I would love to see WZVN go to a completely different owner at some point, Tegna, News press & Gazette, or Hubbard, a group that would separate it completely from WBBH.   Not that it would happen necessarily.

I Saw this Gem on Facebook this evening, about "KMGH news letters".  I wonder if other E.W. Scripps stations are being sued for this?     I didn't feel like filling out an attorney retainer questionnaire.  If anyone here knows details let me know I'm curious.

  3. As much as I believe this deal is dead, it appears they have extended the deadline for FCC approval to February?

If I were Tegna I would just walk away now and maybe go find a different party to merge with.   This is crazy.   Better yet don't merge at all, invest into your local news product ( ha ha ha Who are we kidding) and just look at this attempted transaction in your rearview mirror.

It appears Nexstar is taking two steps backward in their "digital first" mandate.  Live streams of their newscasts are apparently coming to an end next month.

They will be delayed at least 2 hours.

    https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2022/12/21/nexstar-to-end-live-stream-newscasts

The endless quest for retransmission money appears to be the reason.

If they keep this stuff up, they'll end up like Bally Sports, and price themselves out of existence when the pay TV providers kick them to the curb and the networks begin pulling their affiliations.

Sooo how long before nexstar begins having to sell of some of there stations because there viewership & web traffic is down, & they have less advertisers due to weird stuff like this???    These other media companies (Tegna, Scripps, Sinclair, Hubbard, ect) are going to eventually eat there lunch.

I give it a year and they will be back to streaming there newscasts.  February 2023 just as sweeps begin they will be back....

Hell even really small media companies like Waterman Broadcasting Corporation & News-Press & Gazette Co live stream there newscasts at there respective station websites.

  5. Per his own Twitter account: Reporter Noel Brennan from KUSA & KTVD is moving on to Chicago to join WBBM-CBS2.  His last day at the Denver duopoly is next Wednesday November 23.

Wink doppler is in babcock ranch supposedly that's where they are broadcasting from transmitter? 🤔

Yes they are in a makeshift studio built in a tow behind trailer at babcock ranch from how they described it.   It looked cramped.

When i moved to the market in 2003 they used to have an onsite Doppler radar wonder what happened that they had to use the nws radars for the last few years

I Wonder how the WINK doppler held up during Ian?  I know the wink studios were underwater.  As far as i know the WBBH (First Alert Power Doppler HD) / WZVN (Storm Warn7 Doppler) Doppler survived.

  8. NBC2 Says there is some minor roof damage on the main building that houses ABC7 (wzvn), but both stations seem to have come out of it okay.  WINK Though, yikes!!!!  Sun Broadcasting's WARO-FM is still off air. And does anyone know about WXCW TV ???

  9. My question is why can't they seem to make up there minds about the logo, Promos it's the "Fox Box"  Pinpoint Weather it's the rectangle FOX logo.    Figure one out and stick with it.   And I do agree they go through a lot of sets.
